Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 29

She could sense that her daughter was hiding from her.

No, not hiding.

She was disgusted by her.

Even though Lily was only five, she understood everything.

She knew her grandmother hated her mother, her father hated her mother, and her aunt hated her mother.

So, she wasn't going to love her mother anymore, either.

Her mother was an embarrassment.

Lily lifted her head, wrapped her chubby arms around her grandmother's neck, and called out sweetly, "Grandma."

"Oh, my precious girl." Winifred leaned down and kissed her cheek, her voice dripping with adoration.

Lily's eyes curved into happy little crescents before she nestled her face back into Winifred's shoulder.

Winifred rocked her gently, a smug smile spreading across her face. "Grandma's good girl. Thank goodness you take after your father and didn't inherit that shameless, penniless stench from a certain someone. Having her in the Lockwood family was our worst luck."

As she spoke, she intentionally shot a sideways glance in Seraphina's direction.

Seraphina's fists clenched.

Seeing her daughter acting like this felt like a physical blow to her chest.

This was the daughter she had given birth to.

The daughter she had raised with her own hands, cherishing her with all her heart.

And now, she was clinging affectionately to the very person who relentlessly tormented her mother.

Seraphina took a deep breath and forced herself to look away from her daughter.

She glanced around the room. The estate was practically dripping with wealth and luxury.

But none of it belonged to her.

Forget it.

It didn't matter anymore.

Seraphina checked the clock on the wall.

It had been a while. Were Grandma and Dominic still talking?

Regardless, she was going through with this divorce.

But she would absolutely never accept a measly one million dollars.
