Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 57

After the meeting, everyone drifted back to their desks.

Seraphina had just sat down and opened the project files to study them when Meredith walked over, her face blank.

"Go grab coffee for everyone."

Seraphina froze.

She glanced at the clock on the wall—10:30 AM.

Then she looked at Meredith.

"Ms. Cross, I'm reviewing the project files right now."

Meredith raised an eyebrow. "You're a new hire. There's always an adjustment period. Buying coffee is part of that adjustment."

Seraphina stayed quiet for two seconds before standing up.

"Fine."

She turned to leave. Behind her, Meredith's flat voice echoed, "Make it quick. Everyone's waiting."

Seraphina didn't look back.

She went downstairs, crossed the street to the coffee shop, waited in line, ordered, and fifteen minutes later, returned to the office carrying several trays of coffee.

She placed the cups on her colleagues' desks one by one. No one said thank you.

No one even looked at her.

Seraphina returned to her desk. Just as she sat down, Meredith came over again.

This time, she dropped a massive stack of documents—easily two hundred pages—onto Seraphina's desk with a thud.

"Organize these files, then print them out. Three copies of each. I need them before you clock out today."

Seraphina looked down at the stack, then at her computer screen, which displayed the project files she had just opened.
