Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 14

Twenty minutes later, their car pulled up to the entrance of the most exclusive hotel in Northport.

The first-floor lobby was packed with waiting guests, the air buzzing with noise.

Chelsea bypassed the crowd entirely, leading Seraphina straight to the VIP elevator.

A disgruntled guest muttered, "Why don't they have to wait in line?"

A staff member explained with a polite smile, "That lady is a premier VIP of our hotel. She maintains a permanent reservation for the exclusive penthouse suite on the top floor."

The elevator doors closed, shutting out the chaotic noise of the lobby.

They soon arrived at their private suite.

Beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows, the city lights shimmered brightly, stretching endlessly toward the horizon.

The servers promptly brought out their food: steamed fish, garlic butter shrimp, and Seraphina's favorite glazed dessert.

Chelsea placed a piece of food onto Seraphina's plate. "Eat up. Stop thinking about all that nonsense."

Seraphina took a few bites. The food was undeniably delicious, but her heart still felt heavy.

Chelsea set down her silverware and looked at her earnestly. "What's your plan now?"

Seraphina fell silent for a moment, resting her fork on the edge of her plate. "I'll get my jewelry design career off the ground first. I've sent out some resumes, so by the time the competition ends, I should have a place lined up."

Chelsea frowned. "I know about your competition, and winning a prize will definitely get you into a good firm. But what about your dream of scientific research?"

She paused, her tone growing more serious. "I heard that your former mentor, Professor Vane, is hiring an assistant for his lab."

Seraphina's hand stalled in mid-air.

Chelsea watched her, her eyes filled with both sympathy and encouragement. "Seraphina, you were Professor Vane's star student back then. You worked with him for three years, and you were the only one in the entire lab capable of independent data modeling. If you went back to research, it would be just as fulfilling as being a designer."

Seraphina lowered her head, her voice tight with emotion. "He wrote me a recommendation letter to study abroad, but then I..."

She couldn't bring herself to finish the sentence.
