The Return of Special Forces Queen novel Chapter 33

Watching the stunt plane soar through the endless blue sky, Carter felt a wave of absolute disbelief wash over him.

Was it really... Jocelyn flying that plane?

She was executing a series of complex aerial maneuvers that even an outsider like him knew were incredibly difficult.

Down below, the crowd of spectators gasped in awe.

"What's wrong? Cat got your tongue?" Lana mocked. "You're completely ridiculous. Thinking she'd be jealous just because Yolande knows how to fly? You really think Jocelyn is that shallow?"

Carter's face flushed hot. Her words felt like a vicious slap across his cheek, leaving him intensely humiliated.

After a while, the plane made a smooth landing, and Jocelyn's poised, confident figure climbed out of the cockpit.

Carter stepped forward. "You really... know how to fly."

"So what if I do? Is flying a plane really that big of a deal?" she replied effortlessly, completely unbothered.

Carter felt the tips of his ears burn. Right before she boarded, he had genuinely believed she was only running her mouth out of petty jealousy. He'd thought she was delusional, arrogant, and foolishly unaware of her own limits.

But now, he finally understood. She just didn't care.

It was like a billionaire looking at someone else's pocket change—there was simply no reason to be envious.

"When did you... learn to fly?" his voice cracked slightly. Back then, he only knew she had been discharged from the military. He had no idea she was a pilot.

Jocelyn looked at him with sheer sarcasm. "What, suddenly interested in my past?"

When he proposed to her years ago, she had wanted to open up about her history. But he had brushed it off, saying, "Your past doesn't matter to me. All I care about is our future."
