"Exactly. Jocelyn, stop comparing yourself to Yolande. You're just embarrassing yourself."
Jocelyn's voice was ice cold. "I don't think Yolande is all that amazing, and I certainly don't think flying a plane is that big of a deal."
Carter's face darkened. "Everyone is just stating the facts. Yolande is Stratus Air's first female captain. There's no need for you to talk like that just because you're jealous of her."
Jealous? Jocelyn found it laughable that Carter actually believed she was jealous.
The truth was, she couldn't care less about Yolande Sinclair anymore because she no longer gave a damn about him.
Right at that moment, Jocelyn's phone rang. Glancing at the screen, she saw it was Lana. She stepped to the side to answer it.
Behind her, the mocking laughter from Carter's friends continued to echo.
"Jocelyn, one of the companies we're partnered with has an upcoming flight demonstration, but their pilot just fell ill. They can't find a replacement on such short notice. Would you be willing to step in and do the stunt show?" Lana asked anxiously over the phone.
This performance was a joint promotion between her company and their partner, so Lana was naturally stressed about it.
Jocelyn paused to think. "What model is the aircraft?"
"A Zivko Edge 540," Lana replied.
"I can do it," Jocelyn said. She was relatively familiar with that model. Pulling off a simple stunt show wouldn't be an issue.
"Oh, thank God!" Lana breathed a massive sigh of relief. "Hurry over here then."
She quickly sent Jocelyn the location pin for the performance area.
It was located on a massive tarmac right behind the exhibition halls.
