Just as the two women were about to approach, Carter suddenly materialized out of nowhere and violently grabbed Jocelyn's arm. "You followed me all the way over here?! Are you completely insane?!"

"I am not following you," Jocelyn hissed, yanking her arm out of his grasp.

"You tracked me down halfway across the club! Stop lying!" he gritted out. "I'm here for serious business today!"

Yolande had tipped him off that the billionaire investor was here. Rumor had it the Barrett family was looking to pour massive funds into the drone sector, which lined up perfectly with Grayson Tech's new project. He was hoping to schmooze his way into a massive investment.

"I'm here for serious business too," Jocelyn snapped back.

"What possible business could you have?!" Carter clearly didn't believe a single word she was saying.

Yolande strolled over. "Carter, don't waste time. We need to go meet Mr. Barrett."

"Right," he nodded, tossing Jocelyn a final warning glare. "This deal is critical to me. Do not ruin this for me!"

Looping her arm through his, Yolande sneered as she walked past. "Capable women become true assets to a man's success. Useless women just turn bitter and ugly with jealousy!"

With that parting shot, she smiled sweetly at her date. "Come on, I'll have my uncle introduce you to him."

As the heiress to the Sinclair Group, her uncle Winston Sinclair had decent ties to the Barretts and was currently standing in the investor's inner circle.

Carter eagerly followed her straight toward their target.

Winston facilitated the introduction. "Mr. Barrett, I'd like you to meet my niece, Yolande Sinclair. She's Stratus Air's top female pilot. And this is Carter Grayson, the CEO of Grayson Tech."

"It's a pleasure, Mr. Barrett. We briefly met at the restaurant the other day with Professor Gable," Yolande said warmly, name-dropping the professor to bridge the gap.
