Chapter 97
“Why did you let yourself get koght Noah asked, his face devot of emotion. The icy look in his eyes could pierce through amyonetheart. “This was plained, wain’t it? Tell nine why K wanted you here!”
In response, Paul began laughing maniacally, angering everyone in the room, especially Axel, who stepped forward to panch him. “F**g mower him” Axel yelled, his face inches from Paul’s before Lan pulled him back.
Paul cominued laughing, spitting out a bl**dy tooth. “Axel.” He called Axel’s name like they had been friends for a long time Paul seemned to know more about them than he let on. “Ever the emotional one. Its a miracle you’re still alive, dude. If you
vere calmer, you’d probably be married like your cousin over here.”
Noah’s gaze sharpened, his blood boiling at the mention of Felicity. “What did you just say?” Paups scoffed I’m response. making Noah angrier. “Start f*****g talking before I blow your brains out” He demanded.
Paul went silent, prompting Noah to point at the screen “Look at your dying mother. Where should I put my bullet through fin? Her head or chest, you pick.” The gun slid down Paul’s mother’s chest and rested on her heart, Paul gnashed his teeth in
The man on the screen pulled the trigger, and Paul jolted in shock, thinking his mother was gone. However, the first shot was empty Ẩn a rage, he glared at Noah. “You think you’ll get away with this? He plans on taking the thing you love most; it’s your fault for putting her in danger!”
“What the hell are you spouting Noah’s eyes shot up in confusion.
Paul snickered in disdain, “You asked why I allowed myself to get caught. It’s simple really. It’s because we knew you would look for us he knows you too well. He f**g wanted you here!”
“Did he think using you to track our location would work? If so, you’re sorely mistaken. This base is highly secure, and anyone who steps in would be killed on the spot. Axel boasted. The debilitated warehouse may not look like much, bur there was danger lurking within its walls.
Paul smirked, “Secured? Like his estate?” He glanced at Noah, watching as the blood drained from Noah’s face. Tilting his head backward, he let out another bout of laughter. “You’re right I’m just bait.”
Realisation washed over them, and the gravity of the situation weighed heavily on their hearts. “Felicity.” Noah whispered. anguish filling his voice as he hastily pulled out his phone. He dialled her number, but she hung up. She never hung up. His blood ran rold “What did he do to her?!”
“Ask Mr. K that,” Paul shrugged, “If you can find him or your wife’s body part after he is done with her.” He added with a chuckle
“F**k!” Ian whispered shakily under his breath, seeing the missed call from Felicity. He quickly attempted to contact the men he had sent to watch over her, but none of them were picking up. Panicked, he silently prayed Felicity was alright, and Paul was only messing with them. If it was the other case, how would he face Noah again? Felicity’s safety was entrusted to hum, for God’s sake.
Watching Paul laugh, Noah nodded at the man on the screen. Immediately, a gunshot was heard, followed by a splatter of blood and traces of flesh on the screen.
Paul froze for a moment, eyes wide, watching the horrifying scene of his mother’s lifeless and b***y body on the screen, before a scream escaped his throat. He thrashed around in his binds, desperately trying to escape.
“You promised you wouldn’t harm her if I told you, you b**rd Paul’s gaze was filled with hatred as he stared at Noah
“I didn’t promise s*t, Noah muttered as someone handed him a gun, which he pointed at Paul. “If anything happens to her. your whole gang is going down. Thank you for your cooperation A single shot rang out in the room, leaving a gaping hole at the centre of Paul’s forehead. He died with his eyes still open, glaring daggers at Noah.

Chapter 97
Without sparing the body a glance, Noah instructed, “Deal with the other one,” before turning to rush to his estate with Tan and Axel following closely behind him, along with a battalion of men.
Getting into the car, they immediately sped off, ignoring the traffic. If he failed to get to Felicity on time, Noah might not be able to live with himself. He stepped on the gas pedal, making the car go faster and hitting the full speed limit. His hand fiddled nervously on the wheel, and he couldn’t stop jerking his knee.
“I’m very sorry, Noah,” Ian’s low voice was heard from beside him in the passenger seat. Ian sank in his seat, guilt eating into him slowly. If only he had sent more men, this wouldn’t have happened. He knew how much Noah cared for Felicity, and couldn’t imagine the disaster that would happen if Felicity was seriously hurt because of their silly mistakes.
Noah glanced at him briefly. “It’s not your fault.”
“It was my duty to protect her-
“No, it wasn’t. It was mine, Noah cut lan off, not wanting his friend to blame himself for his own mistakes. “She’s going to be fine. Noah’s heart pounded as he repeated the words like a mantra.
Mr. K was ruthless, and Noah couldn’t fathom the thought of him and Felicity alone in his estate. How could he have left her exposed like this? Was his defence that weak? What an insult. He had truly failed her.
He wanted nothing more but to hear her voice right now. What if he never heard her voice again? No, that wouldn’t happen. He wouldn’t let it happen.
Just then, a call came through his phone. With one hand still on he wheel, he hastily picked up his phone. “Felicity, are you alright? Where are you?!” Noah’s voice was laced with urgency.
There was a pause before Felicity’s weak voice answered, “Kagen said your security sucks, and I agree with him.”
