Chapter 219
The following day, Felicity and Noah shared a silent, awkward breakfast before parting ways. It was more awkward on Felicity’s part as Noah was blatantly ignoring her presence.
Throughout the breakfast, he was reading a newspaper, his eyes never leaving the pages. A freaking newspaper! He never read newspapers. Every time he turned the page, her eyes twitched in annoyance, but she refused to break first.
She finished her meal halfheartedly. Before leaving she informed him, “Don’t fret when you see me in the news today.”
Noah’s face remained stoic. Not looking up from the newspaper, he replied, “Sure.”
With a heavy sigh, she snatched her handbag and stormed from the room, making sure to slam the door behind her.
Instead of going to the office, she stopped at a nearby bakery where she took her time savouring a strawberry cake and a smoothie. Interacting with Noah was starting to make her fed up and more hungry than usual.
As she enjoyed herself, the world outside the window felt still, suspended in time. She sat there for almost an hour, looking at the scenery. It had been a while since she enjoyed such solitude. Watching other people busy with their lives was quite comforting in a weird way.
Until she noticed people throwing glances at her.
In an expensive cream coat and Gucci shades at a small bakery, she looked out of place. But she knew that wasn’t the sole reason for the sidelong glances of the other patrons. They had recognized her. It’s not like she was hiding her appearance or anything.
Sighing, she packed her things and left. The time had come to face the day, her destination: Walker Corporation.
Felicity was delighted when she arrived at the Corporation. The day had finally come for her to deal with everyone who haunted her past. With Caster gone, she was finally free from her former life. It was almost nostalgic.
With confidence, she walked into the building. Stepping into Walker Corporation was like stepping into another world. She remembered how Caster shut her down every time she suggested visiting him in the company like she was some piece of trash who didn’t deserve to be seen with him.
Well, she was here to take it all from him. They would see who was unworthy at the end of the day.
There was a shift in the air as she entered, the murmurs of people around her slowly rising, every word carrying the weight of speculation, of recognition. After all, it wasn’t every day the enemy came knocking at your door.
The receptionist, flustered by the sudden appearance of Felicity, scrambled to intercept her, words tumbling from her lips in a nervous stutter. “I–I’m sorry, ma’am, but do you have an appointment?”
Felicity’s smirk was sly and smug, her gaze sharp as she lowered her sunglasses. “Appointment?” she repeated, her tone drenched in scornful humour. “Well, I suppose you could say that.”
“R–Really?” The receptionist recovered from her initial shock, a hint of defiance colouring her tone. “Miss Orion,” She said, her voice more confident now. “If you truly had an appointment, I would have been aware of it. You’re not on our list-”
But before she could finish, a booming voice cut through the air. “Felicity, you’re here!
Felicity’s eyes glinted as Xander approached them, hands wide open to receive her. His cocky grin was proof of his anticipation for the clash that was about to unfold. His smile was wide, his confidence brimming.
“What took you so long? I’ve been waiting.” He remarked, shaking Felicity’s hand with reverence in his eyes.
“You’ve done well.” Felicity gave him a nod of acknowledgement. During the months together, the bond between her and Xander had grown stronger. He turned into one of the people she trusted.
He had been a fierce ally, a shrewd businessman, and a friend she could rely on.
Not only has he made Mario a national success with his business skills and persuasive personality, he also integrated himself with the top echelons in the city, making things easier for her.
Together, they had crippled the foundation of Walker Corporation. He stuck with her even when he didn’t know the reason for her scheme. And now, it was time to finish the job.

Chapter 219
The receptionist glanced between them with a frown. “Mister Xander, are you expecting her?” She asked hesitantly.
The Orion–Walker feud was an old one that has spanned for generations. They were sworn enemies and business rivals. So when Xander merged with Caster, everyone assumed he too would also rival the Orion group.
But for Xander and Felicity to be on good terms? It was unthinkable. To the staff of Walker Corporation, it was as if the very fabric of their universe had unravelled.
“Yes. You can return to your desk now. I’ll take it from here.” He shooed the confused receptionist away before leading Felicity to the elevator. “Come with me, Miss Orion. Everyone is waiting for you.”
Holding her head high, Felicity sauntered behind Xander, exuding an almost regal air as she soaked in the stunned expressions of Walker Corporation’s employees. Their gaping mouths and wide eyes spoke of their bewilderment, a collective gasp of disbelief rippling through the lobby. Some even fumbled with their phones, eager to capture this momentous occasion.
The elevator closed, and in no time, they were in front of the boardroom.
Xander’s eyes danced with excitement, the spark of mischief flickering in his gaze. “Are you ready?” He asked, his voice low.
Felicity’s lips curved in a smirk, a touch of casual indifference in her response. “Of course. Let’s get this done with.” Xander opened the door, sweeping his hand to usher her into the boardroom where the stunned faces of Walker’s executives awaited.
A chorus of sharp intakes of breath followed as she entered. As the boardroom erupted into a flurry of whispers and exclamations, one voice rose above the rest.
“What is she doing here?!” The protest rang out.
Felicity, unfazed by the ruckus, stood her ground. “Good morning everyone,” she said, her tone as smooth as silk. “Apologies for the wait. Shall we begin?
