Chapter 221
“Have you gone mad?!” The board erupted again.
Caster grabbed Felicity’s shoulder roughly, his jaw ticking with rage. “Are you insane? You can’t do that.”

“I can, and I will,” She shrugged his hands off and faced the board. “After going through the company’s report, it’s obvious Caster is unfit to lead. The company has been on the brink of bankruptcy several times and the only reason it’s still standing is because of Mario’s support.”
“I’ve been running this company for almost a decade without any hitch. What makes you think you can force me to step down?” Caster sneered.
“It’s not your call. The board gets to decide.” She retorted.
“And you think they will be swayed by your meaningless words? They are loyal to my family!”
Some directors shifted uncomfortably in their seats. Another even choked on his spit because of guilt.
Felicity raised a brow, her voice full of scorn. “Which family are you speaking of exactly? Your mom and dad are as good as dead. Your sister is a disgrace. And you…” she skimmed him from top to bottom. “you are a disappointment.”
Caster looked like he was moments away from wringing Felicity’s neck. The veins in his neck became more prominent and his knuckles turned white from how hard he clenched them.
She continued regardless. “I think the board will see reason in my words. I, for one, will not sit and watch the hard work of my associates go down the drain in the hands of some incompetent fool.”
The board grew silent, absorbing the gravity of Felicity’s proposal. But one voice piped up, and asked, “And if he should step down, who will run the company? You? How are we sure you’re the right person for the job?”
Felicity scoffed, her expression a mask of incredulity. “Are you blind or pretending not to see? Orion group’s success should be enough proof. If that isn’t enough to convince you, take a look at Mario. I managed the company for six months without any problems.”
The person who spoke up bowed their head in embarrassment. Everything she said was true. Walker Corporation had been in a bad place for months while Orion Group had flourished tremendously. It was enough proof that Felicity was more than capable.
The board exchanged uneasy glances. They were all being swayed by the offer. Nobody wanted to acquire losses and if they stayed with Caster, he was bound to bring them immense loss.
Seeing the look on their faces, Caster snapped, his voice laced with desperation and anger. “Are you really going to force me to step down? After all my family has done for you? We’ve been together for years, when have I ever failed you? This is a problem we can fix.”
The board member who had spoken before took a step forward. That’s what you said when all this began,” He said, his voice firm with resolve. “But we’ve only encountered more problems. Many investors have pulled out. The only reason we are still here is because of our respect for your father. I think whatever debt we owe him has already been paid!”
As Caster surveyed the expressions of the board members, realisation dawned on him that he was losing the battle.
He lifted his chin defiantly, his voice edged with cold, bitter resolve. “You can’t force me out,” He declared, a smirk curling at his lips. “I still own the majority of the shares.”
“Actually, you
don’t,” Xander interjected, making everyone except Felicity look at him in confusion. “Mario injected all the finances this company is currently running on. Everything is ours. Walker Corporation has nothing.”

He paused, letting his words sink into their heads before continuing, “Also, before some of the shareholders left, they sold their shares to me. Currently, we own the majority of the shares not you.”
Caster’s smirk dropped, replaced by a look of disbelief. “That’s impossible.” His eyes darted around the room, seeking answers, but the board looked as perplexed as he did.
Xander scoffed. “When was the last time any of you reviewed the company’s financial information? It’s all there. You can check.”
Instantly, they summoned the Corporate secretary who brought the necessary documents for review.
The board plunged into the financial documents, their eyes taking in every number and figure, searching for the truth.
As they delved into the reports, a realisation slowly dawned on them. Xander had, in the beginning, purchased a mere twelve percent of Walker Corporation’s shares, but as his company merged with Walker, he’d naturally gained additional shares, ten percent more from injecting money to keep the business afloat.
As the head of the company, Caster originally had thirty percent of the company’s shares while his Dad had ten. Left with the responsibility of a failing company and mounting debts after his parents‘ accident.
In a moment of desperation, he had sold his father’s ten percent shares, a last–ditch effort to keep the company afloat. Unfortunately, the money was lost in a bad investment.
Meanwhile, Xander bought another ten percent of shares from the shareholders who were pulling out in fear the company would crash.
With those additional shares, Xander’s stake in the company increased to thirty–two percent. And since Xander was Felicity’s representative, it meant all the shares were under Felicity’s name, making her the rightful owner of the company.
Since Xander had a significant ownership stake in the company prior to becoming CEO, and was brought in specifically to help the Walker Corporation through a difficult financial period, the board was not aware of the full extent of his ownership, Not to mention, they had slacked off considerably in their duty in the last couple of months.
