Chapter 89
Felicity watched as Caster casually sauntered around her office as if he was in a museum. Hands crossed, she tilted her head to the side trying to figure out what he was doing there Shouldn’t he be at the station?
To what do I owe the visit, Mr. Walker?” She asked, arching a brow at him.
Caster halted in his steps before turning to face her. A self-satisfied expression painted his face. “Mr. Walker? Loosen up a bit. We used to date, you know. Remember the times you called me names like babe or sweetheart?”
“Used,” Felicity retorted. “It’s past tense, fortunately. Those God-awful years are gone.”
Slowly, Caster made his way to her desk, sliding his fingers along her father’s bookshelf on the way, “You sound bitter. Are you still mad about the kiss?*
With a mischievious glint in his eyes, he added, tilting his head to the side. “Did I cause a fight between you and your lover?”
Instantly. Felicity’s eyes narrowed into slits. If looks could kill, Caster would have been six feet under. His words confirmed that the kiss was intentional-meant to provoke Noah.
But the nagging question was how he knew Noah was there. Had Caster figured out Noah’s identity? No, he wouldn’t be here if he did. Then how?
If Caster continued to dig further, her secret wouldn’t remain a secret for long, and she would have no power to control the
outcome.
Caster seemed to revel in her annoyance, clapping his hands twice upon noticing her edged reaction.
“I was right! You did fight with him. What was his name? Noah, was it? Poor guy. I’m so sorry for the inconvenience I caused in your relationship. But if you need someone else to leech off, you can always come to me.”
Felicity’s boisterous laughter boomed, filling the air, and the smile dropped from Caster’s face gradually. Felicity tilted her head backwards, wiping tears from the corner of her eyes in the proce
Calming down, she said, “Leech off you? You must be joking. Your company is on the brink of bankruptcy, and the news says you’re currently under investigation. From the looks of things. I’m wealthier than you. There is nothing to leech off. You. are. utterly, useless.”
Felicity seemed to have struck a nerve as a murderous look flashed through Caster’s eyes. He froze for a brief second, a grimace contorting his features before they returned to their usual stony facade. Felicity found it ironic that he disliked being called useless- something he used to categorise the rest of the world.
With a deliberate stride towards her, Caster leaned on the table facing her. The intensity of his gaze was meant to be intimidating, but Felicity refused to flinch. Unbothered, she was no longer the same woman who would cower at his anger. She made a promise; she was bowing to no one.
Seeing her gazing, fearlessly, Caster sucked on his teeth, “You know what I hate more than useless people?” He began, his voice low and slow, “It’s people who take what’s rightfully mine. I don’t like sharing. Felicity.” He muttered, and Felicity got a sense that his words had double meaning to them.
She met his stare defiantly, tilting her chin up a fraction. “Is that all you came to say? I’m afraid you’ve wasted your time and mine hike you always do.”
Ignoring her taunting, Caster continued, “I don’t know how you’ve managed to get all my contracts and successfully sign deals to another, but rest assured, I will find out. If you did it to irk me, you’ve succeeded, so stop before I make you.”

Chapter 89
“Are you threatening me!” Her eyes squinted.
A smirk curled Caster’s lips, “No, it’s a warning.” He replied, “You wouldn’t want me to hurt that pretty little face of yours. now, would you?”
Laughter bubbled up from Felicity’s throat, ringing through the air with mocking amusement. “Not everything is about you. Don’t blame your incapabilities on me, Mr. Walker. It’s not my fault you’re unfit to bargain a simple contract with your clients, making them come to me. Perhaps your business skills could use some refining”
She leaned forward, a dangerous glint in her eyes. “And another thing-don’t ever dare threaten me again. You’ll come to egret it. Next time, you’ll lose more than just a few contracts.” She jerked her head toward the door. “Now, I suggest you leave before I call the police to throw you back into whatever cell you crawled out of.”
Caster recoiled slightly, the force of her words hitting their mark. He recovered quickly, a slight smirk playing on his lips. “You never cease to amaze me, sweetheart,” he whispered. “But remember-you’ve been warned. I mean it.” With a final, lingering wink, he turned on his heel and strode out of the room.
Felicity finally released a breath of relief when the room was empty. Caster’s visit had put her on edge since this behaviour was unusual. The Caster she knew would never openly threaten her life in her office. Something was driving him to this reckless behavior, and she couldn’t help but wonder what it could be.
Sighing, she reached into her handbag for her phone, but instead, her fingers brushed against a piece of paper. Frowning, she withdrew the red unfamiliar note out of her bag and opened it
“Dear Wife, I couldn’t let Axel’s letter be the only one that holds a special place in your heart. Since you like them so much, I’ll give you one every day to make you feel less lonely”
A smile graced Felicity’s lips as she read it. Noah was just something else. Shaking her head, she opened a secret compartment in her bag and carefully placed the letter inside.
Taking out her phone, she sent him a quick text thanking him for the letter before returning her focus back to her work, feeling much lighter, completely forgetting her encounter with Caster.
After some time, Beatrice came in to escort her to her meeting.
