Chapter 88
When the sun started to peek from the clouds, Felicity reluctantly rolled out of bed to face the day ahead.
Noah was still sleeping soundly beside her, he must have been very tired since he normally woke up with the slightest shift on the bed. She tucked the comforter around him before quietly heading downstairs for some water.
As she turned on the TV, the news piqued her interest.
The CEO of Walker corporation, Caster Walker, was apprehended by the police for suspected illegal activities that have destroyed the lands and polluted the water of the local communities around, causing numerous deaths.”
A clip of Caster being escorted into the station was shown, his face was devoid of any emotion.
Felicity was quite shocked by the news. Caster wasn’t slo**py enough to go caught for any crime, he was that smart. It appeared someone may have contributed to his arrest, meaning she wasn’t his only enemy. The troublemaker had probably offended someone powerful.
Looking at the screen intently, Felicity gauged that he didn’t look disturbed, which meant that he had a plan to deflect the case. She knew he wouldn’t be there for long-
Regardless, it was wonderful news for her. Even if Caster wasn’t convicted for this, the Walker corporation was bound to receive some heavy repercussions. By now, their stocks would have started to plummet, and the more it fell, the easier it would be for Felicity to own them.
Immediately, she called her representative, Xander, and instructed him to start buying as many shares as he could from the shareholders.
Xander was confused as he expected her to sell off her shares seeing the situation. Wouldn’t it be more beneficial for them to pull out? But as always, he didn’t question and did exactly what he was told.
Heading back upstairs, Felicity went back upstairs and prepared for work, trying her best not to wake up Noah, before leaving for the company.
As she got to the office, Beatrice welcomed her with a pile of files to review. “You have a meeting with the investors by twelve, and you have to meet with some clients by four. You should finish all this before then.”
Felicity sighed in exhaustion, “Okay” She replied slowly, the toll of the encounter with her father was still evident in her eye bags.
She hadn’t had enough sleep, and was still a little bit drowsy. Shaking her head to get rid of the tiredness, she delved into her
work.
Meanwhile, three hours after being escorted to the station for interrogations, Caster emerged from the police station with a grim expression, immediately swarmed by reporters eager to interview him.
“Mr. Walker, are the accusation true? Did you really cause the deaths of thousands of people?”
“An illegal pipeline was found on your property. How are you going to defend yourself?”
“Your stocks have plummeted significantly. Are you still capable of leading the company or are you stepping down?”
Various questions were thrown at him, and they refused to let him pass until he said something.
Taking a deep breath, Caster composed himself and smiled at the cameras. The rumours you’ve heard are not true. This

atrocity was committed without my knowledge, and thankfully the police understand this and will be conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the real perpetrator. Walker Corporation is a transparent and fair organisation, and we had no hand in this.”
“But the pipeline was found under your previous property, and was only discovered recently, by the new owners. How could it be planted without your knowledge?” A female reporter asked.
“I have numerous properties, and it’s impossible for me to keep track of all of them at all times. If one of them was hijacked and used for something illicit, I wouldn’t know. I’m also a victim in this situation. Let’s work together to find the criminal responsible for this terrible act,” Caster responded before signalling his bodyguards to escort him away from the crowd.
Once safely inside the car, his smile disappeared, replaced by a frosty expression. Despite his attempt to leave the situation unscathed, he had still lost millions of dollars because of the s**d investigation.
How he wanted to pull the Elsworths by the hair, right now. He blamed them for everything.
“What’s on my schedule?” He roughly asked his cowering assistant beside him.
“Apart from a meeting with the board of directors, your schedule is clear.” The assistant replied nervously.
“What?!” Caster yelled, “Wasn’t I supposed to meet with the new investors today?”
The assistant shook his head, delivering the unwelcome news. “They cancelled at the last minute, claiming Orion Group gave them a better deal.”
Caster scoffed, loosening his tie while kissing his teeth in irritation. The company’s stocks had regressed significantly because Felicity stole all their deals.
He had overlooked it before as a mistake, but after it persisted, he was convinced Felicity was doing it on purpose.
Was that her plan? To crumble his company. Well, he would be a fool if he sat still and let her. Felicity was really starting to get on his nerves, and he had to put her in place before she got qut of hand.
“Take me to Orion group.” He instructed sharply and the car sped off.
Upon arriving there, he ignored the strange looks he received at the entrance of the building. This was the first time seeing a Walkera rival in their company.
“I guess you

you know who I am already, I need to speak to your boss. He told the dumbstruck receptionist, his demeanour oozing a charming arrogance that women seemed to like.
The receptionist, taken aback by his bluntness, nervously relayed the message to Felicity, who responded with a cool confidence. “Sure, let him come.”
She relayed the message to Caster and he was let through.
Arriving at the top floor, Caster strolled into Felicity’s office, and couldn’t help but smirk, “Darling, how have you been?” He said, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
