Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 86

Chapter 86
Reluctantly, Felicity accepted the gift. Glancing at the bracelet tie more time, she smiled gratefully.
Sensing the tension. Axel cleared his throat before stepping forward. “I didn’t buy a bracelet, but I hope this is enough,” he said, placing a folded piece of paper in her hand-a letter. “It’s an apology. I’m sorry for putting you in the trunk of my car.”
Noah perked up. “You what?!” His voice turned cold, freezing everyone in place, except Axel, who merely shrugged.
That’s the only way we could bring her to you. Axel explained.
Noah grabbed him by the collar, but before the situation could escalate any further, Felicity stood between the two cousins, placing her hands on Noah’s chest to stop him, “This is not the right time to start a fight, by the way, he apologised.” She said calmly, not wanting a fight to start while her dad was still in surgery.
Noah released Axel but gave him a look that said they were not finished. He gazed softened, gazing at Felicity, “You’re right, I’m sorry
Felicity nodded in acknowledgment, then turned to Axel. I’ve never received a letter before. It was sweet of you, thanks.”
Axel smirked, while Noah looked dumbfounded, “He placed you in a trunk and you forgive him just because he scribbled some words on paper?”
“No one has ever written one for me before. It’s a special gesture, and I appreciate it,” Felicity whispered, slightly embarrassed. She smiled at Axel. “You aren’t that bad after all.”
“Oh, honey, that’s so sad. I feel bad being the first person to give you a letter,” Axel teased, scrunching up his nose, “Cive that
back”
“No,” Felicity said, tucking the letter in her jacket.
“Axel wasn’t the first person to give you a letter, I was, I sent my lawyer to give you one after we first met.” Noah spoke up. Felicity’s brows furrowed, trying to remember, and then it hit her. “That wasn’t a letter, it was a lawsuit.”
“It’s words on paper. Same differences.” Noah shrugged.
A boisterous laugh interrupted them and they turned to see Lilian keeled over in laughter. She wiped a tear from the corners of her eyes, I’m sorry, but you guys are hilarious. I just can’t imagine the big boss of the country would be so
childish
The men paused to look at her. Lilian suddenly stopped laughing as she thought her words had offended them. Before she could apologise, Noah playfully slapped Axel on the arm, “Look, you’re ruining our image.
Axel retaliated and slapped him back, “You’re the one who can’t distinguish between a letter and a lawsuit. And they continued bantering.
As they laughed and teased each other, Felicity felt a sense of belonging. These bunch of idiots were her temporary family
now.
Noah watched Felicity’s smile and relief washed over him. He had asked Ian and Axel to help him take her mind off her father’s surgery and they didn’t disappoint. He gave them a smile of gratitude, their job was done.
In no time, the theatre lights turned green and Doctor Gerald walked out. Felicity rushed to him, “Did everything go fine?”
Chapter 86
“Yes, the surgery was successful. Mr. Orion has been transferred to another room. He’ll wake up soon.” He informed them.
Tears welled up in Felicity’s eyes as she muttered, “Thank you very much. I owe you for this?
You don’t owe me anything. The price has already been paid.” He threw Noah a knog look before taking his leave. Now that his work was done here, he was taking the first flight back to his country, as he had a lineup of surgeries waiting for him. This was the last they were going to see from him for a while.
Felicity understood his words and immediately ran into Noah’s arms. “Thank you very much for everything
“You don’t have to thank me,” Noah replied, wrapping his hands around her while the others tried not to watch from the sidelines. “Let’s go see him.”
Noah said before leading them to Connor’s room. He was still asleep, so they only watched him from the window.
Gradually they started to leave one after the other Lilian, Axel, and the finally Ian.

Entering her father’s hospital room with Noah, Felicity asked, “Won’t you go home too? I don’t think he is waking up
anytime soon,”
I’ll go if you come with me,” Noah answered.
Felicity shook her head, “I’m staying till he wakes up.”
“So am 1. Noah responded.
Felicity didn’t insist further, and they waited side by side. Suddenly, she recalled something. “My dad mentioned you visited him regularly. Thanks for that.”
“He’s our dad now, love,” Noah answered lightly. “And it was nothing. I needed to win him over anyway.”
“Oh, you’ve won him over already, Felicity chuckled, recalling the fond look in Connor’s eyes when he spoke about Noah She glanced up at him and subtly bowed in gratitude, “Regardless, thank you for bringing a smile to his face when I couldn’t
Noah frown deepened as he gently tilted her chin with his finger, “Don’t do that.”
Felicity blinked in confusion, “Do what?”
“Bow your head,” He muttered, gazing into her eyes, I’m used to seeing your head always up, so keep it there. You didn’t bow when I sent that lawsuit, you didn’t bow when we got married, and you didn’t bow when you met my parents. So, don’t bow now, for me or anyone else. Elsworths don’t bow,”
Felicity’s heart clenched, letting his words sink in before a smile crept into her face. She realised she had been growing soft for the past couple of days, maybe her father’s sickness got to her. But Noah’s words brought her back.
Waking up back in this time, she promised to always have her head held high. She almost forgot that promise. “Thanks for
the reminder.
“You’re welcome,” Noah nodded, still holding her chin. Felicity arched a brow, silently urging him to let go, but he only smirked as he started to lean in.
“I may like you now, but I draw the line at you kissing my daughter in front of me,” A voice stopped them in their tracks.
