Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 72

Chapter 72
The room was silent as Felicity eagerly waited for an answer.
The doctor mentioned it,” Georgia hastily tried to cover up her mistake.
“No, doctor Gerald never said anything like that. He only said the tea was poison but never specified what type of poison it was. Felicity countered, relishing the panicked look on Georgia’s face.
Georgia glanced at her mother for help but Patricia didn’t know what to say either. Georgia had made a big blunder. How were they supposed to avert this crisis now?
“Don’t tell me you knew my father was being poisoned and did nothing about it?” Felicity advanced slowly, savouring Georgia’s discomfort. “Were you the one who instructed the maid to purchase it?”
“No, it wasn’t me. I had no idea uncle was being poisoned,” Georgia stuttered.
“You didn’t? Then how the hell do you know what type of poison he consumed?” Felicity snapped, moving closer. “You better start talking before I hand you over to the police. I wonder how the press would react to seeing you escorted out.
Shaking. Georgia went behind her mother for protection. Her career was everything to her. She would die if her name was soiled like that
“You have nothing to say? Take her away,” Felicity instructed the guards, who began to approach Georgia.
“Mom! Do something!” Georgia pleaded in fear.
Patricia struggled to come up with an excuse, her mind racing. As the guards closed in, she managed, “You can’t arrest her without evidence. Orpi is a common poison; anyone could have guessed it.”
“No, Auntie. Orpi is a rare poison that nobody would have guessed, Felicity interjected.
“Then she must have seen the test results Doctor Gerald gave to you, Patricia nudged Georgia to corroborate her lie.
“Yes, yes, I did,” Georgia nodded frantically. For an actress, this was poor acting. “You were holding it so loosely that I snagged a look when you weren’t looking.”
Felicity nodded, stepping back. She had anticipated this too, “Okay, but just so you know, I don’t believe you. I will do everything in my power to bring down all the culprits involved in this case, even if it means arresting family members. The guards will remain here to protect the mansion, and new staff will be selected by me tomorrow.”
“Hiring staff is my job, Patricia tried to argue.
“But you hired criminals instead. Aunty, you’ve failed at your job so I’ll be taking the reins now. Good day,” Felicity concluded before exiting the mansion.
As soon as she got into the car, she called Noah. “How is my dad
“He’s fine. My men are looking after him. Doctor Gerald scheduled his surgery in two weeks. They need to detoxify him first,” Noah informed her.
She smiled in relief. “Thank you.”
Noah hummed in response. “What did you do to your aunt?”

“Nothing.”
“Nothing? Noah sounded confused. “Why?”
“I don’t have enough proof against her, and a maid took the fall for her,” she sighed. “After everything that happened today, she’s bound to get anxious and make a mistake. Whether she tries to contact her suppliers or pay off the maid, whatever she does, I’ll be watching,” she concluded.
Connor wouldn’t turn against his dear sister without sufficient proof. Felicity knew she needed something substantial to provoke her father’s anger. That’s precisely why she orchestrated this elaborate plan. As Patricia’s anxiety grew, Felicity anticipated that she would attempt something desperate. She was biding her time, waiting for Patricia to make a move and fall right into her trap.
“Do you need my help?” Noah asked.
“No, I’ll handle it myself,” Felicity replied, “Thanks again. I promise I’ll make it up to you.”
“I’ll be waiting.” Noah replied, “I have to go. Take care. Felicity hummed in reply before hanging up. She continued to the mansion to prepare for her first day at the company the next day.
Back at the mansion, true to Felicity’s expectations, Patricia grew anxious at the turn of events. She needed to be certain that there was indeed no evidence of the poison traced back to her.
She knew Felicity already suspected her and God knows to what extent the brat would go to prove she was responsible. She needed to warn her suppliers to lie low for a while. However, her thoughts were interrupted by Georgia.
“Mom, I’m so sorry. I messed up really bad,” Georgia confessed.
“Yes, Georgia, you almost ruined everything. Make yourself useful for once and forge powerful allies. Did you see the man with Felicity? He must be very wealthy. It was only because of him she could disrespect us this way, Patricia snapped, frustration evident in her tone. “You’re letting your cousin win too much. If she succeeds in taking us down, at least take her down with us. Find out who that man was and make him your ally instead, she instructed before storming off to her room to strategize.
Georgia had never been berated so much in her life and it was all Felicity’s fault. She was enraged.
When did that **h grow so much? She even outsmarted her mother and took the company from them. Felicity was slowly dwindling their power in the house. It was simply unacceptable. She needed to do something. She wanted Felicity to feel twice as much rage as she was feeling right now.
On the spur of the moment, she reached for her phone and called Caster, “I have information for you.”
“What is it?” Caster’s emotionless voice came from the other end of the phone. His nonchalante towards Georgia made her grip on the phone tightened.
“I need to meet you in person,” She declared.
“I’m busy.” He replied dismissively.
“It’s about Felicity.”
There was a pause before he replied, “I’ll text you the location,” Caster responded curtly.
Georgia sighed bitterly, resenting the fact that she always had to bring up Felicity’s name to garner his attention. The only time he paid attention to her was when he was pounding inside her.

“Bring an artist with you” She instructed before hanging up. She took some time to compose herself before driving to the location Caster sent. It was one of his private buildings in the quieter part of the city.
Inside she met Caster on the sofa with a wine glass and another man preparing his painting tools. That was right, since she was unable to get a picture of Noah, she was going to paint him.
“What was this about Felicity?” Caster inquired as soon as Georgia walked in.
Georgia scoffed, feeling a pang of hurt. “Aren’t you going to ask me how my day went? Or if I’ve eaten?”
Caster raised an eyebrow in amusement. “Since when did we engage in pointless conversations?”
“Pointless…” Georgia repeated, feeling wounded by his words.
When Caster noticed, he decided to heed her wishes for once, “How did your day go? Have you eaten? Are you well? How can I make you feel better?”
Georgia smiled as she immediately felt better. She sat and leaned on him, “Felicity has really become unruly. She transferred Uncle to another hospital and even coerced him to give her the rights to manage the company.”
“She did that?” Caster asked, intrigued. Since when was Felicity interested in the company, what was she planning now?
He had initially considered leaking Connor’s hospitalisation to the press to manipulate the Orion shares, but Felicity’s involvement would change the game. Investors would likely panic and withdraw their shares upon learning Felicity would manage the company, as they had little faith in her abilities. This was advantageous to him.
Her sponsor came with a helicopter to pick up her dad. My mom was so intimidated. He even brought a famous doctor to treat her dad, though Felicity claimed she arranged it, but I know it’s a lie… Georgia poured out all the details. “And also, Felicity hasn’t been staying in her apartment. Something tells me this man bought her a house or something”
A helicopter, hiring a famous doctor, buying a house-these were not actions an ordinary person could easily pull off, Caster mused. His opponent was clearly someone powerful, perhaps even more so than himself.
The stunt Felicity and her acquaintance pulled in his party was still fresh in his memory. He was hungry for some revenge but still couldn’t openly act without knowing who was backing Felicity up. Finding this mysterious sponsor was his ultimate goal.
“Did with
you get any of his information or do you have his picture?” With a picture, he would put a face to who he was dealing
“No, I didn’t, but I’ve seen him so I can describe him, hence why I asked you to bring the artist, Georgia said giddily, Caster hummed, “Sure.”
Georgia began describing Noah’s features to the artist, who skillfully translated her descriptions into a nearly accurate sketch. The finished product was close to the real thing.
Caster held the painting in his hand like a sacred object as he engraved every detail of Noah’s face in his memory. He had never seen this man before, could it be he was not a socialite? If that was the case how could he afford to back Felicity.
He still recalled how every man he sent to follow Felicity had disappeared mysteriously.
Unless.. no, it couldn’t be. Felicity couldn’t have managed to snag a top echelon, could she? If that was the case, then Caster needed to act fast.
Georgia, thank you. This information was very much useful. He said with a smirk.

Georgia smiled bashfully at the compliment. It has been a long time since he praised her. She was suddenly in a good mood. “It’s been long since we saw each other. Why don’t I leave a good memory for you before I go?” She said suggestively. unbuttoning his shirt.
Caster smirked, throwing a w** of cash to the artist and waving him away before capturing Georgia’s lips in his.
