Patricia didn’t bother to hide her dislike for Felicity’s presence, “What kind of daughter are you, coming here to play the good child after mingling with the enemies? Do you know how devastated your dad was when he found out what happened at the Walker’s party? Did you even think about our reputation before rekindling feelings with them?”

Felicity found herself unable to form words to rebut Patricia’s accusations. It was the first time she was left speechless, unable to defend herself, and she hated it
“Are you done?” Felicity asked, her voice strained with frustration.
“You disrespectful brat. Is that any way to talk to an elder? Is this what I taught you?” Patricia snapped back.
“You didn’t teach me anything, Auntie, and I’m quite grateful for that. It would have been terrible if I turned out like Georgia, Felicity retorted, her tone sharp with resentment.
Patricia was visibly shaken by Felicity’s words. “Is this how you treat family? Georgia has told me how you’ve treated her on set. Don’t you have any shame?”
“I don’t, Felicity replied curtly, turning to leave as Patricia muttered behind her.
“Don’t let the press catch any news of your father’s condition. I’ll manage the company for now,” Patricia instructed.
Felicity paused, her displeasure evident. “You’re managing the company? You don’t have the authorization to do so.”
“It’s temporary. I can’t trust you to handle it. What do you know about running a business?” Patricia scorned. “Go back home,” child. Leave things to me.”
Though Felicity was displeased, she decided to remain patient for now. Whatever happened, her father and Patricia were still siblings, so she wouldn’t try to ruin the Orion company. If Patricia made a mess of things, it wouldn’t benefit anybody.
Felicity could rest assured that the company would be alright for now. She had too many other things to think about, and managing the company was the least of her concerns at the moment.
As she reached the entrance of the hospital, Felicity’s path was blocked once again by Georgia.
“What do you want?” Felicity asked, her tone sharp with annoyance.
“Can’t I say hi to my cousin who I haven’t seen for a while?” Georgia scoffed.
Felicity forced a sweet smile and replied, “Hi,” but then her expression turned serious. “Satisfied? Now, get out.”

Georgia rolled her eyes. “You seem too relaxed for a homewrecker. After the commotion you caused at the Walker Residence, you should be bowing your head in shame.”
“Homewrecker? I don’t think you understand what that word means. I am the victim here, so why should I be ashamed? The Walkers are the ones who should apologise a billion times, Felicity retorted, her voice dripping with disdain.
“But still-Georgia began.
“Are the Walkers really your concern right now? Your uncle is ill, and you’re talking about the enemy. Have some self- respect. At least try to show some regard for the situation,’ Felicity interrupted, turning to walk away once again.

“I moved apartments, Felicity lied.
“Then you wouldn’t mind giving me your new address. My mom and I would love to visit you sometime,” Georgia extending her phone for Felicity to input her address
Felicity stared at the phone without taking it. Georgia had put her in a difficult situation. She couldn’t give Georgia address because Georgia would surely become suspicious if she found out it was fake. And she didn’t have time to rent another apartment at such short notice.
The only possible way was to deflect the situation, even if it might seem shspicious. It’s not as if Georgia could force the address out of her anyway.
“I’ve told you before not to worry about me. I’m not accepting visators for now since the place is a bit rough. When I’m comfortable. Tll invite you over,” Felicity stated firmly before leaving the hospital without wasting another minute. She made sure no one was watching as she joined Noah in the car.
“How’s your father?” Noah asked.
“Bad” Felicity replied in a low voice. “He wants to meet you”
“You told him about us? Noah asked, wide-eyed
I had no choice. Are you upset?” Felicity inquired.
Noah shook his head. “Of course not.” In fact, deep down, he felt a lightness in his chest. “Is his condition that serious?”
“He has a heart condition. The doctor said he doesn’t have long, but I don’t believe it. My dad is healthy,” Felicity’s voice broke towards the end, and Noah’s eyes softened.
“We can take him to a better hospital. I know a good cardiologist, Noah suggested.
“You would do that?” Felicity started tearing up. “I would greatly appreciate it, thank you.”
Noah drew her into a hug to calm her down. “You don’t have to thank me. He’s my father too.”
They remained in that position until Felicity was comfortable to leave, after which they went home.
The next day, Felicity got ready along with Noah to see her father. Patricia would be busy with the company while Georgia was doing a shoot, so she wasn’t worried that anyone would see them.

Arriving at the hospital, they went to Connor’s ward. He was drinking a cup of tea while looking out the window at the

“Dad,” Felicity called to get his attention. “You shouldn’t be standing. Take a seat,” she hurried to assist him. “You have to take care of yourself.”
