Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 63

Chapter 63
The following weeks were quiet for Felicity. She completed her shoot for Daunting Lullaby with minimal drama on set and quietly stayed at home
Since the incident with Vivian, her follower count has significantly increased, and fans sent her gifts daily as a show of support. Anticipation for Daunting Lullaby was also high because of her. Overall, being the victim wasn’t all that bad.
Vivian had gone on hiatus after being admitted to the hospital. No one had seen or heard from her since the party. Felicity didn’t particularly care, as she found satisfaction in the hate Vivian was currently receiving
Lazing around, Felicity spent most of her days cooking and monitoring her stocks for Mario. Her representative, Xander,” had been doing an excellent job, and she only needed to sign a few documents here and there to keep the company running.
She dreamed of the day when Mario would become a big company, and she could reveal herself as the owner, shocking all
her enemies.
As for her relationship with Noah, it hadn’t improved since that night. In fact, they had grown distant, partially due to Felicity’s discomfort whenever she saw him, remembering Axel’s words.
As soon as she believed that things could not possibly get worse, they did.
Felicity received an unsettling call from her Aunt Patricia in the evening while she and Noah were eating dinner
“Felicity, your dad is in the hospital. He had a heart attack,” Patricia’s voice rang through the phone, echoing the urgency of
the situation.
Felicity stopped and squeezed the spoon firmly in her hand. Noah had also heard everything because Felicity’s phone was in a loudspeaker.
“What did you say?” Felicity asked again, her voice slow and uncertain. Did her ears deceive her?
“Your father collapsed. The doctor said he doesn’t have long, Patricia repeated, the gravity of the situation sinking in.
Felicity’s phone dropped onto the table, and she felt rooted to her seat by the weight of the news. A familiar memory from her previous life returned to her, causing a sharp pain in her chest: she had been having dinner this way when her aunt called to tell her that her father had passed away. She hadn’t even been allowed to say her final goodbyes and apologise to
him
Why was this happening now? The timing didn’t add up. The last time she saw her dad, he was perfectly fine.
She stumbled to her feet and knocked the chair back in her hurry. “I have to go” she stammered.
“I’ll drive,” Noah said, appearing beside her in a split second. She didn’t argue with him as they rushed to the car. Ten minutes later, they arrived at the hospital “Tll wait for you outside, Noah muttered. Even though he really wanted to be by her side at this crucial time, he understood that was not his place.
Connor was unaware that his daughter was married, and Noah did not want to shock him with the information and make his condition worse. It was better if he didn’t interfere.
Felicity glanced at Noah in gratitude and hurried to get to the hospital. It was the first time she had entered the hospital after her rebirth. Remembering how she had died in a similar hospital, she almost vomited but she suppressed it. Her dad was more important right now.
“Connor Orion,” she asked the nurse at the counter. The nurse recognized her immediately and directed her to her father’s

private ward.
Entering the ward, Felicity broke down upon seeing her father connected to tubes. “Dad, she cried, pushing past Georgia and Patricia, who were already in the room.
Connor looked frail, aged more than his years. Most of his dark hair had turned white, matching the colour of his skin, and his face was etched with more wrinkles than usual. He had also lost a lot of weight.
“Felicity… you finally came to see me, Connor weakly smiled, raising his hand to wipe her tears. “Don’t cry, I will be fine.”
Seeing Connor’s pale face, Felicity was suddenly overcome with rage. “How did this happen?” she demanded from her Aunt and Cousin who were watching the whole exchange quietly.
“He’s been complaining about chest pain for a while now. This evening, he suddenly collapsed,” Patricia explained, her voice tinged with concern.
Patricia’s words only made Felicity more angry, “Why didn’t you do something when he’s been in pain all this while?” she accused.
“Felicity, don’t pour your frustrations on us. At least we were here to take care of him. Where were you? Mingling with the Walkers! Such a sly.” Georgia retorted, her tone defensive.
“What did you just say?” Felicity took a daring step towards Georgia, ready to confront her, but was stopped by her father’s
voice.
“Don’t fight with your cousin. It wasn’t their fault. I insisted on staying at home, Connor interjected sofily, stroking Felicity’s hands in an attempt to calm her down.
Just then, the doctor entered the room, diffusing the tension. Spotting Felicity, he invited her outside for a private
conversation.

“What is wrong with my father, doctor? Felicity asked anxiously, her worry evident in her voice.
“His heart is failing, and his blood vessels have been severely damaged, possibly as a result of stress or underlying illness. “We can not pinpoint the exact cause, but he has a heart condition, the doctor explained gravely.
Felicity was at a loss for words. This was the exact cause of her father’s death in her past life, and her Aunt had told her it was because her dad was worried about her constantly. She could not bear the idea of losing him again.
Felicity had taken great care in this life to make sure her father did not worry about her, but he still became ill. The diagnosis came five years earlier than it should have, prompting Felicity to wonder if her actions had somehow altered the course of time. It seemed plausible, given the significant changes she had made in her life.
She held her head, feeling a pang of guilt. Was her dad really going to die because of her again? How would she live with that
burden?
“Is there anything we can do? Like a heart transplant or something?” she asked weakly, turning to the doctor for answers. The doctor bowed his head in sympathy, acknowledging the rarity and complexity of the situation. “Your father has an extremely rare blood type, and there are currently no available matches in the city. Even if the transplant is performed, there is a slim chance he will survive. I advise you to use the rest of your time with him wisely. He said before leaving. Felicity leaned against the wall for a few minutes, taking in the news before returning to her father’s bed.
“Can I have some time alone with him?” She asked, seeking solace in her father’s presence. Patricia looked hesitant to leave, but Connor urged her to go. He too longed for some time alone with his daughter.

His only regret was that he wouldn’t get to see Felicity settle down with someone who loved her. She was a successful woman but she still needed the support of a good than to grow to her full potential

her checks
“What kind of father dies without seeing his only child happy? Connor’s voice trembled with emotion, his heart heavy with
gret
Felicity couldn’t contain her pain. Guilt gnawed at her, knowing he had kept her marriage hidden from her father. Was that what weighed on his heart? What kind of daughter was she? She had been so fixated on her revenge that she hadn’t considered how her actions would affect the one person who truly cared about her.
“But I am happy, Dad. There’s something you should know,” Felicity began, gathering her courage. “Tam married”
“What?” Connor’s eyes widened in surprise.
“I did get married. I’m sorry for not informing you sooner, Felicity apologised, her voice trembling “So, you see, you’re not
a bad father.”
“Yeah, you are right, Connor’s tone turned angry. “I am a terrible father. I didn’t even know my daughter was married. Which punk dared to take advantage of your Bring him to m
“Dad, it’s not like that. The marriage was… Felicity tried to explain, but she was cut off by a sudden hit on her back.
“You unfilial child! How dare you get married without informing me? You deserve a good beating, Connor scolded angrily, his frustration evident.
“Daddy! Felicity protested, trying to reason with him, but her father continued to bicker until he became exhausted. Before Felicity left, she whispered to him, asking him to keep her marriage a secret from everyone until she was comfortable to tell them. Connor agreeil reluctantly.
After Commor fell asleep, Felicity gave him a truder peck on the brad before quietly leaving the room. As soon as she stepped out, she came face to face with the scowling, Patricia, her Aunt’s disapproval evident in her expression.
