Chapter 6
Lilian was waiting at the entrance when Felicity arrived.
The short thin woman was putting on a black three-piece suit and had a scowl on her face as Felicity approached.
“I can’t believe you are late. Do you know how much it took for me to get this opportunity despite your terrible reputation?” Lilian spat at her with a glare, not care but some of us depend on this job to survive. Don’t ruin it.”

Glad to see Lilian’s face after a long absence, Felicity grinned. She vowed in her heart to repay Lilian’s kindness.
She bowed her head slightly and apologised, “I am sorry. I promise to do better from
now on.”
Felicity’s apology caught Lilian off guard a little bit. She was expecting the girl to brush her off like always but instead, she apologised with a sincere look on her face.
It’s fine. Let’s go.” Flustered, Lillian quickly ushered Felicity into the building. “I saw the rumours about you online. Is it true? Did you spend the night with Caster?”
Lilian’s distaste for Caster was palpable in the way she pronounced his name.
Felicity chuckled. From the start, Lilian had never hidden her disgust for Caster, and she was against the relationship.
“No, I didn’t,” Felicity answered, truthfully.
“Thought so. Thank God it was taken down in time. Only a few people saw it, I don’t. think it will affect your audition today.” Lilian said as they arrived at the place for the audition.
Felicity did not recognize any of the actresses present.
Daunting Lullaby was a movie no one expected to become a hit so only small actresses auditioned for it.
Some of them threw her snide looks and their lips twisted in distaste but Felicity paid them no mind. Her reputation would be restored and she would regain her former glory very soon.

She sat down in a corner until her name was called. A woman and two men were in the room when she walked in. The film’s directors and scriptwriters,
“Felicity Orion auditioning for the role of Dahlia Jones.” She said in a professional tone.
She had seen the entire film several times in a past life as a show of support for Georgia.
Fortunately, this worked in her favor.
She knew exactly what the director’s wanted and she was going to give it to them.
“You may begin,” One of the directors said.
Felicity took a deep breath, immersing herself in the role. She had appeared in at number of films as a child, so acting came naturally to her. She would have been an A- list actress already if she hadn’t met Caster and Georgia two years ago.
They came into her life and ruined it, but she was going to make things right.
Ten minutes later, Felicity came out of the room, satisfied with the response she got. She had nailed it.
But her mood turned sour when she came face to face with Georgia outside the door.
“Oh, Felicity, you are still here,” Georgia said with wide eyes, appearing to be shocked. She glanced around, flustered, like a thief caught in the act.
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you that I was going to audition for this movie too. I didn’t want you to think I was trying to compete with you. I really like this movie and you seemed nonchalant about it. You are not angry, are you?”
Georgia didn’t like the movie. She just wanted to steal all of Felicity’s roles and leave her with nothing. Only when Felicity was at the very bottom would Georgia be satisfied.
The other actresses knew who Georgia was and did not want to offend her, so they gave Felicity the stink eye.
“Who is she to tell our blossoming rose not to audition?”
“What is she doing here, anyway? After all the dirt on her, if the directors gave her the role, I would start a riot.”
“Felicity is not that talented anyway. Ugly whore.”

Georgia smirked within her at the comments directed at Felicity.
Felicity softly chuckled, aware of Georgia’s thoughts.
“Nonchalant about it? Cousin, have you forgotten that I lost all my roles because of the false rumour that was spread about me? Unfortunately, this is the only audition I have,” She said, “You should have told me you were auditioning, we could have come together after all we stay in the same house. We have always shared everything, why would you think I would get angry about a role? It’s your turn now. I hope you nail it.”
Felicity brushed past Georgia and left the place. She wasn’t in the mood to indulge in petty squabbles like this.
“Did you do well?” Lilian inquired when she saw Felicity.
Felicity smiled and bobbed her head lightly, “Yes, I think I might get the role.” She said.
“Good, good,” Lilian clapped in excitement. She was overjoyed because Felicity had not landed a good role like this in a long time. “Aren’t you going to wait for Georgia? I saw her go in.” Lilian asked when she saw Felicity leaving.
Lilian wasn’t a fan of Georgia. She had overheard Georgia’s bad advice to Felicity. Lilian tried to tell Felicity many times not to listen to her cousin, but the latter would always. berate her for trying to cause a bridge between their ‘sisterly bond.
This was one of the reasons Lilian and Felicity began to disagree.
“No,” Felicity answered before walking away leaving her manager stunned.
Lilian gaped at Felicity’s back. Did she just say no?
Felicity and Georgia were very close. Felicity always brought Georgia with her wherever she went, so Lilian was surprised Felicity was not waiting for her. It had never happened.

Felicity was stopped at the entrance of the building by the receptionist. “You are Felicity Orion, right? A man told me to give this to you.” She handed Felicity a thin brown envelope.

She was not expecting mail and had not ordered anything online; if she had, it would have been delivered to her apartment, not there.
Only her family and manager knew she was coming to the audition, and neither of them sent it.
Felicity arrived at the underground garage and entered her car, dropping the envelope. on the seat behind her. She planned to check it later.
She started the engine and was about to drive away when her passenger door opened and someone entered.
“Drive!”
Felicity raised an eyebrow at the sweaty man in her car, who was looking around. anxiously. What the hell?
“Please, drive!” The man yelled again, his voice laced with urgency, staring at the stunned Felicity with wide eyes.
He appeared terrified and was heaving heavily as if he had run a marathon.
Felicity was baffled. She was about to tell him to leave when she heard footsteps.
Some strange men in black appeared from the parking lot. It resembled a scene in which the hero was hiding and the villain was looking for him.
Felicity froze when she saw the black guns they were holding. Before she could react, one of the gunmen locked eyes with her.
“Drive! Drive! F**king DRIVE!” The man yelled, and Felicity immediately stepped on
the accelerator.
The men started shooting at them. Thank God for bulletproof windows, or they would have died.
She sped out of the garage, colliding with some of the men the process but she didn’t
care.
“What the hell?!” She yelled at the man, her heart racing. “Who the hell are you?!”
