Chapter 5
She had not experienced this in her past life. After the scandal in her previous life, no man wanted to be associated with her, and her father was forced to approve of her marriage to Caster when she found out she was pregnant.
What reputable man would want a woman surrounded by nasty rumours?
The Elsworth family were unreachable social elites, exclusive echelons of the society. Most people hadn’t met the core members of the family. That w how high up the social ladder they were.
They led very private lives, so there were not many photos of them on the internet.
Felicity had never had any contact with the Elsworths. Not in her previous life and not in this life.
So she wondered how the eldest son could have taken a liking to her.
Noah Elsworth. She was certain she had not met him.
There was something fishy about the proposal and she knew it.
“This must be a mistake. The E-Elsworth family?” Patricia stuttered in shock. Why would they send a marriage proposal to Felicity of all people and not her daughter?
While Felicity had neglected her career for the past two years to pursue a man, Georgia had steadily risen through the ranks of the entertainment industry. She had an overall good reputation.
She was not as attractive as Felicity, but what is beauty when a woman’s name is soiled?
Georgia was the entertainment industry’s blossoming rose, a nickname given to her by her colleagues due to her delicate nature. If anyone was worthy of receiving a proposal from the Elsworths, it was Georgia.

“It wasn’t a mistake. Maxwell Elsworth called me himself this morning to pass the news. He said his eldest son had taken a liking to Felicity and proposed an engagement.” Connor explained, slightly puffing with pride that his beautiful daughter had caught the attention of an eligible bachelor.
He was surprised when he got the phone call this morning. Who did not want the best for their child?
Chapter 5
“I’m not getting engaged.” Felicity rebutted to everyone’s surprise.
Patricia sneered. Her niece was really dumb. Which sensible person would reject such at proposal?
“Yes, you are. This marriage is going to be beneficial for our businesses. You are going to be the richest woman in the country.” Connor tried to reason with Felicity.
“No, I’m not getting engaged to a man I don’t know,”
“You will get to know him. They are a good family. They will treat you well.”
Felicity frowned. Treat her well?
Even the Walker family treated her like dirt because of her reputation. Why would the Elsworth family treat her well? She had watched enough movies to know how this. would end and she wasn’t interested.
“No.”
Connor scowled and stood firmly. He was done watching her throw her life away. “Well then, I’m cutting you off. Get out of my house.” he pointed at the door and everyone gasped in shock.
Felicity could not believe her ears as she stared at her dad.
“Brother, we can’t kick her out,” Patricia tried to reason with him. If he forced Felicity to accept the proposal, it would be a loss to her. Felicity is still a child. She doesn’t need to marry yet. Take it easy on her,” she added. If Felicity married into the Elsworth family, her brother would have too much power, something she detested.
Connor ignored everyone, “Go upstairs and pack your things. You can come back home when you change your mind. From now on, you aren’t receiving a dime from me.”
“Brother!”
“Uncle!”
The mother and daughter yelled.
Felicity ignored them and rose slowly from the floor. Her mind was made up. She had just escaped a marriage and was not ready to enter another.

Chapter 3
This life, she promised she would make her father proud. She was going to listen to him, but this… this was something she was going to refuse.
The Elsworths could shove their proposal up their a**s.
“I’ll go pack my things,” she said to her father’s surprise.
“What?” Connor arched a brow in disbelief. He was just trying to scare Felicity into accepting the engagement; he had no intention of actually going through with it, but his child did not even protest and accepted it right away.
“I said I will go pack my things.” She repeated, then turned and left, ignoring everyone’s protests.
She got to her room and started filling her luggage with her clothes and toiletries.
Her door was pushed open and Georgia rushed in. “Felicity, you can’t leave,” she said with a hint of worry in her tone. “You can’t marry into the Elsworth family and betray Caster’s trust.
Felicity almost laughed. Betray Caster’s trust? Georgia was truly shameless. Felicity didn’t have time for her theatrics right now.
“When did you meet Noah Elsworth?” Georgia curiously inquired. Felicity would have informed her of meeting someone that important, so why didn’t she?
Georgia was also quite surprised when her uncle mentioned the proposal. She had never met the Elsworths, so how could her cousin, who had been absent from the social scene for a long time, have? Could they have been acquainted in the past?
“I haven’t met Noah Elsworth in my life.” Felicity curtly replied, dispelling Georgia’s earlier thought. Georgia’s expression became better. Probably the proposal was a mistake, she thought.
Felicity’s phone rang and she answered it without checking the caller ID.
A voice yelled from the other side, “Felicity, where in God’s name are you?!”
Felicity winced at the volume before checking the caller ID, It read Manager Lilian. Startled, she nearly dropped the phone.
She hadn’t seen Lilian in years.

In Felicity’s previous life, Lilian was one of the people who genuinely cared about her even though Felicity made her life a living hell.
After Felicity married Caster, Lilian made multiple attempts to get her back into acting, but Caster would always talk her out of it. He told her that taking care of him and the house should be her top priority and that she did not need a job.
That sc**mbag.
“Are you even listening to me?” Felicity heard from her phone drawing back her attention. She returned the phone to her ear.
“What did you say?”
Lilian groaned from the other line, “I said you are late for your audition. You have to show up for this or else I will quit being your manager. I can’t sit and watch as you throw your life into the mud. Get here right now!” Then she hung up.
Felicity sighed as she resumed packing. She had remembered this audition in her past life but she sadly couldn’t attend it because of the scandal.
“If you don’t have anywhere to stay, you should go to Caster for help. I know you said. what you said to appease Uncle. You didn’t mean it. Felicity was surprised Georgia was still there.
Georgia continued after hearing Felicity’s conversation, “Everything must be overwhelming. You should rest. I don’t think you will go to the audition after the rumours that spread this morning.”
Felicity paused, scoffing in disbelief. In her past life, Georgia took advantage of her scandal and stole her role in the audition.
After the scandal, Felicity was unable to make it to her audition of the drama
‘Coincidentally’, Georgia ended up auditioning instead and got the role. The drama was a hit and Georgia became an A-list actress.
It seemed some things never change. Georgia was trying to talk her out of going to the audition.
In the past when she had neglected her career and let others walk over her but this life, she was going to take back what was rightfully hers and strip away everything Georgia ever loved.

Felicity couldn’t believe she once considered Georgia as a sister. Georgia had broken her trust and used her. She plunged a knife into Felicity without hesitation.
It made Felicity wonder what she did to deserve such treatment from people she considered family.
She turned to Georgia with a creepy grin on her face, “Drop the act, cou. You don’t have to pretend anymore.”
“What are you talking about?” Georgia acted flustered.
Felicity took a step towards Georgia, towering over her as Georgia was short. Georgia swallowed and took a small step back.
“You still want to put on an act? Fine. You will find out what I’m talking about later. Just wait.” She picked up her luggage and brushed past Georgia.
Georgia stood perplexed by what just happened. Felicity had never looked at her so coldly before. Did she find out about last night? Georgia panicked.
Felicity went downstairs ignoring all the glances the se**nts were giving her.
She flashed her shocked father a smile before sauntering out of the house and into her car after placing her things in the booth of her car.
She had just started the ignition when her phone rang.
“Hello,” she answered.
“Where are you? It’s almost your turn!” Lilian’s voice sounded through the bluetooth. “I’m coming, I’m coming. Relax.”
