Chapter 58
Vivian sat on her bed, her gaze fixed on her violet walls, her head pounding and her brain in a haze. She felt a throbbing pain in her lower area, her eyes hollow with bags underneath, resembling a terminally ill patient.
The door opened and Caster walked in, but Vivian didn’t shift her gaze from the wall. He sighed, standing in front of her. “The doctor said you needed some rest,” He stated, his voice devoid of emotion.
Vivian continued to stare as if she hadn’t heard him.
“You should sleep so that you can look presentable for the party this evening. The host shouldn’t look dull, Caster added.
Finally breaking from her reverie, Vivian glared at Caster. “What party?”
“The party you told us to arrange to humiliate Felicity,” He reminded her.
Vivian clenched her fist at the mention of Felicity’s name, looking at Caster as if he were crazy. “Are you insane? Why didn’t you cancel it? You really want me to host a party in this state?”
Caster moved closer and sat on the bed. “The invitations were sent beforehand, you know that. We can’t just cancel the party out of the blue like that. Do you know the caliber of people who would be in attendance? What would they say about our family?”
Vivian’s eyes blazed with hatred as she gazed at Caster. “You truly don’t have a conscience. I was raped! Raped by five men! And you want me to host a party?!”
“Lower your voice, don’t let the maids hear about your disgrace, Caster coldly told her. “Why are you so mad? Wasn’t that the fate you prepared for someone else? You should have been more careful not to fall into your own trap.”
With a cry, Vivian lunged at him, grabbing him by the collar. Her eyes widened like a psychopath’s. “That b**h did this to me! She set me up! I didn’t fall, she **kin* you were planning. Caster reasoned.
Vivian tugged him closer. “I don’t know how, but she knew. She f**ng drugged me.”
“You weren’t drugged, you were drunk and walked into the room yourself. You. were. st**d. If you feel so wronged, avenge yourself, Caster told her, prying her hands away from him. “Get some rest. Today’s a big day.” He said before leaving the
room.
Vivian gazed as the door shut in front of her. She screamed, grabbing her head, messing up her hair.
The events of last night kept replaying in her mind like a song, though most of it was blurry. The only thing she could clearly remember was being yanked into the dark room, but she didn’t recall how she got there.
Those men didn’t even bother to look at the face of the lady they had apprehended. They mercilessly took turns with her as if she were some kind of toy. She still remembered their laughter and jests. She hadn’t saved herself for years just to end up being raped by some bunch of thugs she hired.
It was simply unacceptable!
Imagine her dread when she woke up to a sheet stained with blood, sweat, and semen, her whole body aching. She only managed to phone Caster before fainting in shock.
If words got out, she was as good as dead!
Chapter 58
The biggest question remained: how did she end up in this state while Felicity went unscathed? Caster was right. She needed to seek revenge. If Felicity made it to the party, it would be her end.
Meanwhile, Caster went back to his study to cool off. It might not have been obvious, but he was severely distressed by everything that had happened. If news about Vivian got out, it would be detrimental for him and the company.
What annoyed him the most was that he couldn’t find the perpetrators. Both the waiter Vivian bribed and the men had vanished like air.
How could Vivian be so st**id to end up
like this?
A knock interrupted his thoughts. “Come in.” The door opened, and Mariam walked in.
Caster sat up in his seat. “It’s you.”
“Good day, Mr. Walker,” Mariam greeted him.
He fixed a smile. I want to thank you for your hard work lately. This party is happening because of you.” The events that led to this day only happened because Mariam provided the information about Felicity’s contract.
“I’m glad,” Mariam muttered. “I came to inquire about my son’s condition in the hospital. Is there any improvement?”
“Of course, little Grey will be up and running in no time.”
“Greg,” Mariam softly corrected him.
“What?” Caster furrowed his brow.
Mariam clenched her fingers underneath her long sleeves. “My son his name is Greg.”
Caster replied with an award-winning smile. “That’s what I said.”
Mariam smiled and didn’t say anything. “I would like to show my gratitude for everything you’ve done for us. I saw the maids busy, I want to assist them with the preparations”
“If you insist,” Caster waved her off as he received a text from one of his subordinates informing him that Felicity’s invitation had been delivered to her address.
Honestly, he was the one who had insisted that everyone must bring a plus one. He was eager to find out who Felicity would bring. Would it be the mysterious man? He was enthusiastic to find out.
Meanwhile, Mariam joined the maids in setting everything up. She had only one task to do today, and she couldn’t mess it up. Sneakily, when no one was looking, she exchanged the flash drive containing the music shuffle with another. She also replaced the extra pair of flash drives with duplicates of her own
Once she was done, she behaved as if nothing had happened and went on with her business. After some time, she left the residence with a smirk on the corner of her lips. This was her way of avenging herself and her son after Caster’s deceit.
One thing was certain: tonight, it would be a battle between two hungry predators, and only one could prevail. Someone was doomed to be broken.
Mariam boarded a taxi before throwing one last look at the house. “May the cu**gest win.”
