Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 55

Chapter 55
The kiss, gentle and fleeting, left Felicity feeling weak in the knees. She couldn’t remember the last time she had kissed
anyone.
Her fingers clutched Noah’s shirt as they embraced, savouring the spontaneous moment, eyes closed.
Just as she began to lose herself in it, Noal abruptly pulled away, leaving her longing for more. “I’m sorry,” He murmured, regret evident in his expression.
Coming back to his senses, he berated himself for acting on impulse. He should have controlled his emotions. His abrupt kiss had probably left her angry.
“Why did you stop?” Felicity questioned, pulling him closer by the neck, surprising him.
“Are you drunk?” Noah asked, perplexed by her uncharacteristic behaviour. He was expecting her to kick him in the sheen or something.
Felicity laughed, “No, just tired.”
Noah chuckled, gently kissing her hand before enveloping her in a comforting back hug. “Did you take care of the little problem?” He asked, changing the topic. With that, the tension dissipated, and it was as if their moment had never happened.
“I will but I want to see what else she has up her sleeves first. She murmured with a wicked smile playing at the corners of her lips.
“You aren’t going soft are you?” Noah teased.
Felicity scoffed, “You know me better than that.”
Noah smiled but didn’t say anything. His eyes fell on the wine sitting on the nightstand and asked, “Were you planning on celebrating without me?”
Felicity shook her head, “A waiter brought it over. Apparently, the hotel is celebrating a special event and gave this as a gift to all the guests.”
Noah walked over and picked up the wine when the name caught his attention. Having a closer look at the bottle, a dark look flashed through his eyes and his grip tightened on it.
“Who did you say gave you this?” He asked with an edge on his tone which he tried to hide.
“A waiter…. but I felt like I’d seen him somewhere before. Just can’t remember where,” She murmured sitting on the bed, “Why? Is something wrong?”
Noah shook his head, “No, nothing’s wrong. He said taking the wine to the bin, “Cheap things like this age bad for our health. I will get a better one.”
Felicity didn’t care about the bottle of wine, she was more concerned with Noah’s sudden change in mood but she was too tired to inquire what went wrong as she finally drifted into sleep.
Seeing her already in bed, Noah went to the balcony for a smoke the thought of the wine still haunting him.
Kagen
that was the name written on it. He thought it was a strange name for a wine until he saw the inscription written
underneath.
‘Seek the warmth of the sun, but beware the shadows it casts. Something might be lurking in it.”
At that point he knew the wine wasn’t a gift to Felicity, it was a warning for him, one which only he could understand Someone was threatening him.
What baffled him the most was that this person knew he was coming to City Z for Felicity and prepared ahead. Only a few people knew he was coming. This meant that there was a spy among his men.
What angered him the most was that someone had gotten to Felicity before him. They could’ve hurt her and he would have been too late to stop them. If anything bad had happened to her how was he supposed to forgive himself?
He puffed up smoke into the air as he gazed into the night. “Mr. K… Kagen…. is that what you’re called?” He murmured, “Stick to the shadows because the day you step out into the light, you’re dead.” He concluded, putting out the cigarette.
He then took his bath alone before joining the snoring Felicity on the bed.
The next day, Felicity was getting ready to film the commercial with Vivian and Crace. When she saw Noah getting dressed too, she frowned.
“Are you coming with me?”
“I came all this way and you think I would miss your first commercial? Noah arched a brow.
Felicity blushed, “Okay”
Just then, there was a knock on the door and the sound of Lilian’s voice from the other side.
Felicity hurried up to open the door and let her in. Lilian got in but almost lost her footing when she saw who was standing in the middle of the room.
“Big boss… you are here,” she said, awkwardly.
Noah threw her a nod of acknowledgement like always. It wasn’t much but it was enough to send Lilian to the moon and back.
“I’ll
go start the car. Noah said before leaving the two ladies alone.
Immediately he left, Lilian nudged Felicity’s side, “Why didn’t you tell me he was here?”
“It’s a surprise to me too. He only came last night.” Felicity shrugged.
“He travelled all the way to see you?! How romantic? To say you’ve been wasting your time with Caster. This is true love,” Lilian gushed, making Felicity roll her eyes, “Is he coming with us?”
“He is.” She answered as they started walking out of the room. Felicity’s eyes fell on the bin that was in the corner of the room where she still had a clear sight of the disposed wine. She asked Lilian. “What did you do to your bottle of wine
“What wine?” Lilian asked, confused.
“The wine that was given to all the guests by the hotel last night. A waiter gave me a bottle of wine saying the hotel was celebrating a special occasion.” She explained.
Lilian pouted, “Really? Ugh, I didn’t get any gift. So unfair. They probably missed my room.”
Felicity recalled the cryptic words of the waiter and felt something was not right.

“Probably,” she responded, drawing her eyes from the strange gif
in
Some minutes later, they arrived at the location for the shoot. Today’s shoot was basically that of three women waking up their homes and doing their different morning skincare routines before going outside and letting their natural beauty shine or something like that.
The shoot was unscripted so they had to make use of a lot of body languages to communicate their true feelings to the
audience.
When they arrived, Felicity came down from the car alone and went to change into the pink dress she would be filming in, leaving Lilian and Noah to watch her from afar.
