Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 31

Chapter 31
“Where are we going?” Felicity asked when she noticed he wasn’t driving in the direction of the house.
“I’m taking you out for dinner,” he informed her.
He got out of the car first, and like a gentleman, opened the car door for her. “Is this okay?”
She looked around, realizing they were at the Ping Tower, the highest building in the city. “We are having dinner here?”
“Yes,” he said, directing her towards the building.
Felicity had never been to Ping Tower, it was a prohibited area due to the numerous suicide attempts that had occurred there. However, before those incidents, it was a popular spot for sightseeing. She had wanted to visit multiple times but never had the chance.
“How can we have dinner here? It’s prohibited,” she told him, feeling confused. Maybe he wasn’t aware of the restrictions.
“I’m Noah Elsworth. I can do anything,” he said plainly, leading her to the elevator that would take them up to the roof.
The scene that greeted them would forever be etched in her memory. On the roof, there was a charming dinner setup with rose petals scattered on the floor. A waiter stood nearby, ready to serve, and there was a makeshift kitchen.
The view was breathtaking, with city lights twinkling in the distance. Paired with the bright stars and moon, it was simply perfect. She felt a sense of awe wash over her.
Speechless, she asked, “This is for us?” looking at Noah in surprise.
He smiled warmly, his gaze unwavering, “This is for you,” He corrected her, leading her to the elegantly set table to sit.
But instead of simply joining her at the table, Noah surprised her by taking off his suit jacket, rolling up his sleeves, and slipping on an apron, revealing a more casual side to him.
“What are you doing?” She asked with a nervous laugh.

“Making dinner,” he replied, striding confidently to the kitchen.
“What? You can cook?”
“Don’t underestimate me.”

Felicity was taken aback by the scene unfolding before her. It wasn’t her birthday, nor was it any special occasion. So why was he doing this?
As she watched him skillfully prepare the meal, her stomach fluttered. His muscles flexed with each movement, his focused gaze and the sheen of sweat on his forehead adding to the allure of the moment. It was a beautiful sight indeed.
Before long, the savory aroma of steak filled the air. He set a plate before her, and the waiter filled her glass with red wine.
Noah took a seat opposite her and gestured for her to try the dish. She picked up her cutlery, cut into the steak, and took a bite. The burst of flavors immediately enveloped her tongue.
She couldn’t help but moan in delight. “This is amazing,” she exclaimed, giving him a thumbs up.
Noah puffed his chest up in pride and smiled. What Felicity didn’t know was that he spent the whole day learning and perfecting this dish. This was his first time handling a
pan.
She took a sip of the wine before asking, “What’s the occasion? How did you arrange all this?”
“I need to get to know my wife better. I pulled a string or two.” He explained.
“I guess you’ve earned the privilege of knowing me,” she replied playfully, her eyes darting to the scenery around them. “I’ve always wanted to come here, but I never had the chance to. Thank you for this.”
Noah smiled. The truth was that he was already aware that Felicity wanted to come here. He had stalked her Instagram account for hours until he stumbled upon a post she made about this place.
He knew this would be the perfect place to take her. But she didn’t have to know that.
“You’re welcome.”

hat do you want to know? Felicity asked a little apprehensive that he would ask questions she might be reluctant to answer.
“What’s your favourite colour?”
Felicity smiled. That was such a basic question, but she was glad he asked. “Green”
“Why aren?
Felicity didn’t have an answer to his question Recently, she had found herself drawn to the colour. “I don’t know, I just like it.”
Noah nodded. “What about your favourite food?*
And so the questions continued. Noah was interested in knowing everything about her, her likes and dislikes, to satisfy his curiosity, But with each answer, Felicity only became more intriguing
Nothing escaped his notice. He observed the slight wrinkle in the corner of her mouth when she laughed, the way she rubbed her nose when she was uncomfortable, her gummy smile, and the rare occasions when she slouched in her chair, a sign of relaxation that he rarely witnessed.
He had never seen her truly relaxed. There was always a hint of tension in her expression, as if she carried the weight of the world on her shoulders. He didn’t like it.
“So, you’re an only child?” Felicity asked him.
“Yeah, my parents didn’t want to bring another child into this treacherous world,” He replied.
Felicity nodded in agreement. The world was indeed a despicable place, and she wouldn’t wish her life on anyone.
“You’re frowning again,” Noah observed.
Felicity furrowed her brow, “What do you mean?”
There’s always a slight frown at the corner of your lips whenever you stare into space as if recalling a painful memory,” He explained, his gaze fixed on her.
Felicity was surprised. She didn’t know she looked pained whenever she recalled her past. This was proof that she wasn’t healed yet. She still hadn’t gotten closure.

“I just remembered something unpleasant,” Felicity said, forcing a smile.

“Did you remember your ex? You shouldn’t waste your brain cells on sc**mbags,” Noah remarked, referring to Caster’s infidelity. He assumed she was still hurting from the betrayal.
As much as Felicity wanted to deny thinking about Caster, she couldn’t escape the haunting memories of him and Georgia. His betrayal lingered in her thoughts day and night.
She smiled. “So, what is the real reason you did all this?”
“You said you liked a man who isn’t afraid to express himself,” Noah reminded her with a smile. “This is me expressing myself.”
Felicity’s brown eyes met his green gaze, and she found herself captivated. Her heart quickened its pace. “What do you mean?”
“I like you,” Noah confessed, no longer willing to deceive himself. Uncertain of where this path would lead, he was prepared to find out.
Felicity’s expression remained unreadable, though inside, she was in turmoil. This unexpected confession left her feeling chaotic. She had grown accustomed to the idea that their marriage was merely on paper. What did his feelings mean for her? She didn’t even know if she could trust him yet.
To calm her racing heart, she downed her glass of wine in one gulp.
“Don’t worry, it’s temporary. I’m sure it will fade away once I peel back all the layers of walls you’ve surrounded yourself with and uncover the mysteries within,” Noah reassured her, when he saw how tense she looked.
Raising a brow at his obvious challenge, Felicity replied, “Are you sure? I hope you keep your word, Mr. Elsworth.”
The rest of the meal passed in silence. While Felicity enjoyed a blissful evening, the rest of the world remained engulfed in chaos.
