Chapter 24
“Cut,” the director said with a satisfied grin.
He’d been a bit worried about Felicity’s performance, given her long break from acting. He thought she might slip up or feel shy in front of the camera. But she did
wonderfully.
“Felicity, you did really well. I never doubted you. Jonah, your longing expression was perfect. Great job, everyone.”
Felicity smiled politely and thanked everyone for their praise, which made some people, especially Rita, a bit jealous.
“Tch, she didn’t do that great,” Rita remarked loudly enough for Felicity to hear. “I could have done better.”
Her manager handed her a bottle of water. “Of course, you could have done better. Your won best supporting actress two years ago, after all. How many awards does she have?”
Felicity let out a dry laugh. So, that was the reason Rita was acting up, all for an award she won two freaking years ago. Quite amusing.
Rita played the third female lead, and her character, Tina, didn’t have much screen. time in this scene. Tina was supposed to be a friend to Dahlia.
Felicity wondered how that would turn out for them in the future.
But, Georgia, you kept glancing at Felicity. Is everything alright?” the director inquired, casting a questioning look at Georgia.
Georgia, who had been quiet all this time, gave a slight smile. “Everything’s fine. Her acting just impressed me, that’s all.”
Inside, however, she was consumed by jealousy. After the shoot was over, Georgia pulled her assistant aside to interrogate her.
“What’s going on? Didn’t you sabotage her outfit like I asked you to?”
The assistant replied, clearly frightened, “I did. I sprinkled pepper on her outfit. I don’t understand why she wasn’t affected at all.”
The only logical explanation was that Felicity hadn’t worn the outfit; otherwise, she

would have been itching all over by now.
“You fool! Must I spell everything out for you? You should have devised another plan and added pepper to her makeup,” Georgia snapped.
“I’m sorry. It didn’t occur to me,” her assistant apologised.
“Get out of my sight.” And the poor assistant ran away.
Georgia gritted her teeth as Felicity received all the praise, feeling unnoticed herself.
She had already assured Caster that she would handle Felicity on set. If she failed to uphold her end of the deal, she dreaded what he might do.
Why did Felicity have to land this role? And how did she get such wealth? Georgia knew Connor no longer provided Felicity with an allowance, so who was her benefactor?
It was a mystery Georgia was determined to unravel.
Georgia suppressed her anger. Though she had lost this opportunity, there would be plenty of chances along the way.
She had seen Rita’s attitude towards Felicity; she probably won’t have to do much to kick Felicity out.
They would make sure Felicity rued getting this role.

Two days flew by in a blur.
Despite Felicity demonstrating her talent, there were still people who harboured
animosity toward her. Georgia and Rita had formed an alliance and occasionally played petty tricks on her, all of which Felicity managed to evade.
The entire cast appeared to dislike her, except for Jonah, who remained friendly toward her.
“Felicity, would you like to join us for lunch?”
“Felicity, you must be exhausted. Take it easy.
His unwarranted attention only fueled the animosity toward Felicity, much to her annoyance. The more she politely rebuffed him, the more persistent he became.

Luckily, she always found a way to elude him either something came up or someone. intervened just in time.
Felicity began to entertain the notion that someone was discreetly watching over her on set, like a fairy godmother. But she didn’t dwell on it too much.
Presently, she was lounging on the bed, browsing the internet. She had et up a makeshift workstation in the corner of Noah’s room, where she conducted her affairs.
“I’ve got a list of companies like you asked,” Noah said, placing a file in front of her. “Most of them are on the verge of bankruptcy and could be acquired for a reasonable price.”
Felicity’s eyes brightened as she opened the file. She had been eagerly anticipating this moment. She scrutinised the list carefully and smiled in appreciation. It was thorough work.
Since Felicity hadn’t specified the type of company she wanted, Noah had included a variety from different sectors. Some were small conglomerates, while others were larger groups suffering from poor management.
“Do you need help?” Noah’s voice was gentle, his eyes scanning Felicity’s face with
concern.
Felicity hesitated, her brow furrowing as she wrestled with her thoughts. She conceded. and asked for his help,”I don’t want a big group. A small company would do; it would draw less attention.”
Noah nodded thoughtfully. “Okay… what type do you want?”
Felicity chewed on her lip, uncertainty flickering in her eyes. “I don’t really know…” She leaned back in her chair, fingers tapping on the armrest as she pondered. Suddenly, her expression brightened. “How about a food industry? Which one would you pick? I’m thinking of Nile Sardines.”
Noah’s gaze softened, his lips quivering into a half-smile. “Do you trust me?” Hist question hung in the air, his eyes searching hers for a genuine answer.
Caught off guard, Felicity met his gaze, feeling a flutter of vulnerability. She tilted her head, meeting his green eyes, which seemed to peer into the depths of her soul.
“No, she admitted softly.

Despite the jest in his tone, Felicity couldn’t help but notice the theeting sincerity in his eyes before it was replaced by amusement. It was a small moment, he spoke volumes about the complexity of their relationship
“I can’t trust someone I don’t know” She answered softly
Noah leaned closer to her and teased, “I’m curious about Miss Orion. Let’s get to know each other?
With his handsome face so closer to hers. Felicity became flustered at his advances and her heart races!
Noah licked his bottom lip and belicity’s gaze went down at them. She suddenly felt stuffy.
She shook her head to get rid of her dirty thoughts, and frowned, angrily, “If you don’t want to help me, then go away. Stop pestering me.” She tried to shoo him away but he didn’t move
Noa decided to stop teasing her and turned serious.
“I would recommend… Mario, Noah pointed at the name on the list, “The owner is currently buried in gambling debts and is looking for a buyer. Their business struc is the strongest and you would get it for a low price.
Felicity mused. “Then I will take it.”
“I will take care of it but may I ask what this is for?” He asked, curious as to why she would be interested in buying a company.
“It’s a secret.”
