Chapter 212
At that moment, Felicity felt a rush of mixed emotions ranging from anger to frustration. Her thoughts raced, her mind spinning with a storm of questions and curses.
All this time, she had been counting down the days until they went their separate ways. How could she possibly fix this problem?
Shit!
Felicity’s heart pounded in her chest, adrenaline of panic coursing through her veins. Desperation laced her voice as she asked, “What do I have to do for you to rectify this?”
Noah’s gaze hardened, and the playful glint in his eyes faded, replaced by a cold glare. “Rectify it?” he repeated, a tinge of bitterness in his tone. “Am I really such a terrible husband? Do you want to get rid of me that badly?”
Felicity gulped at the iciness in his tone, but she refused to give up. So, she tried to reason with him. “What’s the point of staying together when we obviously have no feelings for each other?” she challenged, her defiance a mask for the rising fear in her heart. “You are your family’s heir, and you will need children to carry on your legacy. You are never going to get that from me.”
“You’re young and handsome. Any lady would die for an opportunity to be your wife. You have time to search for a lady who can love and care for you. A lady you can shower with affection. That lady is not me.”
With each sentence that came out of her mouth, Noah’s jaw twitched with rage. He curled his fist into a ball, his veins bulging with rage. What nonsense was she spouting?
Every word she said was like an arrow aimed at his heart.
“Did all the time we spent mean nothing to you, Felicity?” He leaned closer to her, making her lean back, but he grabbed her and pulled her closer to him until their faces were merely inches apart.
His
eyes roamed her face, taking in all the beautiful details his mind could assimilate. “All the meals, jokes, dates… kisses we shared. Were those moments a joke to you? Or what? Do you think I let just any woman into my life?”
“Look me in the eyes,” Noah commanded, his voice low, determined, “and tell me that you don’t feel anything for me.”
Felicity’s heart raced, her breath caught in her throat as she locked eyes with him. Noah’s eyes were a sea of green, swirling with emotion, with a depth she hadn’t seen before. It almost frowned her. A part of her wanted to succumb to his gaze and confess what she truly felt.
But the other part the defiant part, wanted a fighting chance. How could she be sure that his feelings were real, that he wasn’t just manipulating her? Noah had lied to her once, so he was probably lying again.
So, although it pained her to deny what she felt, her lips coiled into a mocking smile and she said, “I don’t feel anything for you. Why? Did you actually fall for me?” She scoffed at his face.
“So what if we shared meals, went on dates, and kissed? We are adults. It’s normal,” Her laughter was bitter, her gaze challenging. “You shouldn’t mistake those things for affection.”
The words felt like an axe to the gut, but Noah’s expression remained neutral. Gazing at her mocking expression, he tried to find a trace of deceit, something to patch on to.
There was no way she meant anything she said. He could see it in her eyes. What he tried to wrap his head around was why she was fighting him? Why did she resist the truth of her feelings, even when it was as clear as day?
The air between them crackled with electricity, the tension palpable as Noah closed the distance between them, his lips crashing against hers in a kiss that was both passionate and desperate. It was a kiss that he had craved for so long, since he

had saw her in the wreckage with Kagen, until it finally erupted.
He wanted to devour her, to claim her as his own, to prove to her that he was the only one who could make her feel this way.
Noah’s tongue darted into Felicity’s mouth, exploring as much as he could. At first, she resisted, pushing against his embrace, but he relentlessly refused to let her go.
Slowly, almost imperceptibly, he felt her soften, her body relaxing, her own tongue dancing with his. It was a surrender that he savored.
His lips curved into a smirk against hers, a smugness that only he could feel. Her response to him said it all.
He pulled away, his breath heavy and ragged as he gazed into her eyes, his expression a mix of desire and determination. “Yes, I fell for you like a fool,” he admitted, his voice low and husky. “But guess what? I’ll make sure you regret every word you spoke today.”
His hands trailed her skin, tracing a symphony of lust down her body. They rested on her exposed thighs, the lightest of touches sending shivers through her.
Felicity froze.
“You’ll beg for my touch,” His words were a promise, a seductive threat whispered in her ear as his fingers explored her skin, igniting a fire within her that she had long denied. His hands slipped into her gown, travelling into her inner thigh while his other hand caressed her face.
His eyes landed on her rosy lips. “You’ll miss the feel of my lips on yours and my hands running through your hair. You will ache for my hands to explore your body, to tease you until you’re on the brink of ecstasy.”
He leaned in closer, his breath hot against her ear. “Your dreams will be haunted by visions of us together. Thoughts of me pleasuring you,” he murmured, his lips brushing against the tip of her ear. “I’ll make sure of it, Felicity. I will torment you in every waking moment. Until you can no longer deny the truth of your feelings for me.”
With a smirk that betrayed his satisfaction, he let go, watching as Felicity crumbled on the bed, her breathing still ragged, her cheeks flushed with desire. His eyes lingered on her for a moment before he turned, striding towards the door.
“And don’t even think about a divorce,” he called over his shoulder, his voice a mixture of warning and promise. “This marriage is for the long run, whether you like it or not.”
