Chapter 210
In no time, Felicity left for work. From the moment she stepped into the company, Beatrice didn’t give her a moment to breathe, dragging her from one meeting to the next. It was almost as if she was compensating for Felicity’s recent absence.
Overall, the company was glad she was back and was buzzing with activities.
As the sun finally set, Felicity’s body slumped, exhausted, into her office chair, a sigh of relief escaping her lips. She had finally finished everything she had missed in her absence and could now have a moment to herself, a chance to collect her thoughts.
Of course, the other matters had to deal with Kagen and Noah. Her conversation with Vicky replayed in her head. Despite Vicky’s explanation of Wilfred’s death, Felicity couldn’t shake her anger towards Noah.
Why was she still so mad? Even though she understood why Noah had done it, why couldn’t she let it go? She could not find an answer. She felt lost in her own feelings.
“…your anger is an excuse to hide your true feelings.” Frustrated, Felicity shut her eyes as she recalled Vicky’s words.
“I should think of something else,” Felicity muttered, pushing back thoughts of Noah. But as she did, the image of Kagen’s devilish grin flashed before her eyes.
Immediately, she picked up her phone, fingers flying across the screen as she typed out a text to her informant. The message was brief and to the point, spelling out exactly what she needed to know.
While Felicity lacked the expansive resources of the Elsworth family, her few spies were effective and got the job done. They might not have the numbers, but their expertise more than made up for it.
The true nature of Kagen’s identity was delicate, and Felicity knew it would be difficult to uncover. Especially since there were few people left to ask. She had seen to it herself but had never anticipated that her own actions would come back to haunt her. But she couldn’t afford to dwell on the past or wallow in regret.
After instructing her informant, Felicity turned her attention to her father, the one person she could rely on for information and insight. Tapping out a quick message, she proposed a long–overdue father–daughter hangout which Connor instantly approved since it had been long since he saw his daughter.
Her father was quite knowledgeable about many socialites in his circle and could give her useful information regarding her quest.
Felicity smiled, satisfied that the first phase of her plans was going according to plan.
The last person who could provide her with useful Intel about Kagen was someone she was reluctant to meet. By the way, she doubted the person would be willing to give up information regarding his family to her of all people.
Sighing, she crossed the name off her mental list. It wasn’t worth the effort.
Packing up, she decided to head home. Making her way to the garage, she passed by the familiar sight of the four cars that always tailed her. Her bodyguards.
But something was off.
She couldn’t shake the sense that someone else was watching her.
Ignoring the bodyguards, her eyes searched the lonely garage but she found nothing out of the ordinary. Her first guess was Kagen had come for her again but she quickly crossed that out.
She knew it couldn’t be Kagen, not after the damage she’d inflicted on him. Even with his stealth and cunning, he wouldn’t be able to evade the Elsworth family’s watchful eye.

Chapter 210
It had to be someone they weren’t currently guarded against.
Felicity got into the car and sped off, her bodyguards following behind her. She would find whoever was watching her sooner or later.
Getting to the mansion, Felicity tiredly entered the Villa. To her relief, no one was around the living area when she arrived. She was grateful to avoid another awkward meeting.
Getting to her room, she quickly took her bath and changed into her nightwear, preparing to get some rest. Just as she climbed into her bed, there was a knock on the door.
“Come in,” she answered, thinking it was Cassandra.
The door creaked open, the last person Felicity expected to see on the other side. Noah.
