Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 200

Chapter 200

The next couple of days went like a blur for Felicity, the sunshine streaming through the windows was the only indicator that time was passing at all. Noah’s absence also brought her a sense of relief

The only visitor Felicity had was Cassandra, the nagging old lady who brought her meals, most of which she didn’t eat due to trust issues and the fact that she couldn’t stomach anything, and forced her to take a bath. Felicity was relieved that Cassandra wasn’t some hot, sexy lady like she had expected

She was the only employee within the house and sometimes acted like Felicity’s mother

The dark circles under Felicity’s eyes had become worse. Even with the new and improved sleeping conditions, she could not sleep. Her thoughts were plagued with Noah, and her dreams, with Kagen. The moment Kagen’s mask broke, revealing his face, kept replaying in her head

She desperately wanted to believe that her injuries that day had caused some sort of hallucination, that her mind had been playing tricks on her, but deep down, she knew the truth. Her eyes, her mind, had seen what they’d seen

Feeling frustrated by her helplessness, Felicity slammed her hands on the table, making the dishes on it rattle

Cassandra, startled by the noise, jumped a bit, her wide

Yes

Sorry.Felicity instantly apologised and composed herself

Is something wrong, Mrs. Elsworth?Cassandra asked, concerned

I’ve told you not to call me that. My name is Felicity,Felicity demanded. I’m not an Elsworth. Your bosses kidnapped me and plan to kill me. Is that how you treat a member of your family?”

Cassandra laughed. Funny as always, Mrs. Elsworth. Eat up.”

Felicity sighed, glancing down at the plate of porridge set before her. She cringed, knowing whatever she ate was going to come back up. I’m not hungry. Please, take it away.”

Cassandra frowned. Madam, you’re making my job difficult. If you keep refusing my food, Mr. Elsworth will think I’m not doing my job properly and fire me.”

Felicity was numb to her rant, knowing Noah wouldn’t fire her. After all, there was no way Cassandra was a normal employee

Do you know how I can escape from this place, Cassandra?Felicity asked for the first time since she arrived at the villa

Escape?Cassandra placed her thick arms on her waist. You sure have a weird sense of humour, Mrs. Elsworth. Noah said you can leave anytime. He even left his car keys in case you wanted to go on a drive.”

Felicity’s mouth hung open in shock. Was Cassandra trying to tell her that she could have ran away a long time ago

Are you

serious?”

Of course.”

Felicity laughed at herself, a flash of light returning to her eyes. A sandwich, she declared to Cassandra. I would love to have a sandwich. Can you make one for me?”

I’ll be right back.Cassandra left the room with the tray of porridge

Finally having a moment of solitude, Felicity’s mind began to wander. Her first thought was to take a car and disappear, but she quickly dismissed the idea. Noah was in control of half of the city. Where could she possibly run

She couldn’t go to the Orion mansion, and God forbid she encountered Kagen again. She’d hoped that Noah had caught him during the crossfire but it seemed he had managed to escape

But why would Noah leave the freaking car keys? Was this a trap or a test? Or maybe it was a statement to her that she was free

Felicity exhaled, reprieved. If Noah didn’t want to end her yet, then that was his problem. She could use this free time for some proper investigations of her own

Stepping out of her room for the first time, Felicity ventured down the Villa. The whole place screamed elegance and simplicity, reminding her of Noah’s indifference towards extravagance, adding a certain charm to the decor

The aroma of freshly made sandwiches drew her towards the dining area, her eyes taking in every detail of the villa. It wasn’t as large as she’d expected, but the attention to detail and careful selection of art pieces spoke of exquisite taste, her exquisite taste since they were mostly replicas of what she’d bought for the Estate

Why had Noah brought replicas of her paintings here

The house looked empty except for her and Cassandra

Are we the only ones here?Felicity asked, taking a seat as the older woman set the plates down in front of her

Yes, we are. But I’m sure everyone will be back soon.” Cassandra’s smile was warm and reassuring. Noah said you can choose any car you like from the garage.” She placed a set of car keys next to Felicity’s plate

Glancing at the bunch of keys, Felicity mustered a forced smile at Cassandra before picking up her sandwich. The first bite made her stomach churn, her appetite all but vanished

With a small sigh of resignation, she swallowed the bite and steeled herself for the next. She forced her way through the bites. Starvation would only hinder her ability to devise a plan. And God forbid she developed an ulcer like she did before because of Caster. Malnutrition was a curse she didn’t wish to experience again

She refused to allow malnutrition to weaken hernot when her freedom was at stake

As she sat there, eating, her thoughts drifted to Caster. She had not heard news about him for a while. He had gone radio silent, like he fell from the face of the earth. Considering her predicament, his silence worried her greatly

Maybe she should have ended him along with Georgia

If we can’t have you, no one else can. That’s a promise. You’ll just have to die.”

The last words Caster said to her before disappearing during the night of the awards, flashed in her head, leaving a dark look

Felicity picked up her phone and typed in the name of Walker Corporation, searching for the latest news. The headlines were a grim picture: Walker Corp. Struggles to Stay Afloat as Massive Loan Fails to Stem Losses

Felicity’s lips tugged slightly. Caster’s distress made her happy. If Caster was wise, he’d stay clear of her, a strategy that would suit them both. He probably learned it was best to stop bothering her if he wanted to live a long life. Not that Felicity would let him live a long life if he did. Either way, she had her secret card: Mario

With that thought in mind, her mood lifted somewhat, her appetite returning along with it. She finished her first sandwich, wiping her mouth with a napkin

Then, she decided to dial a number she hadn’t called in almost a month: her father
