Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 199

Chapter 199
Felicity woke up feeling refreshed and well-rested. As she blinked, slowly opening her eyes, she was greeted by an unfamiliar
room.
Frowning, she tried to recall how she had ended up here, but her mind drew a blank. Felicity didn’t panic. Instead, she sat up on the bed and gently massaged her forehead, letting out a tired yawn.
Slowly, as memories of the crash, Kagen, and Noah came flooding back, a groan escaped Felicity’s lips.
“I’ve been kidnapped,” She whispered. Yet, strangely, she was not as alarmed as she had expected. She was at ease.
At least it wasn’t the mad man, Kagen, that took her. She could beg Noah to give her a swift and painless death.
Felicity’s eyes swept the room she was in, and the more she looked, the more lavish it seemed for a prisoner like her. The king-sized bed with plush bedding, a white vanity table, a door she guessed led to the bathroom, and a closet. It was like a hotel room for a spoiled princess.
Rising from the bed, she felt the softness of her now clean hair, and it was clear someone had not only changed her clothes, but also given her a proper bath.
Felicity moved to the balcony, flinging the glass doors open. The view outside left her in awe.
An expansive, lush garden, rich with vibrant greenery with a splash of colours from various flowers, neatly trimmed, leaving a unique fragrance in the air.
She had expected Noah to take her back to the Estate or a dirty warehouse to finish the job. But this was beyond anything she’d ever imagined.
Shifting her gaze from the garden, Felicity noticed some bodyguards patrolling in the distance with guns. She gulped, glancing down at the ground. If she tried jumping from the balcony, she would lose her limbs for sure.
Immediately, she mentally crossed that option of escaping out.
“Where am I?” She murmured to herself.
“This is my villa.”
The sound of Noah’s voice, jolted Felicity from her thoughts. Seeing him standing, leaning against the doorframe with his hands in his pockets, her eyes narrowed.
“Did you change me?” Was the first thing Felicity could ask under his gaze.
Noah’s lips curled into a wry smile, his gaze steady on her face. “****dra did. Although, I would have loved to.”
“Pe****rt,” She spat, her scowl deepening. “Who is C***dra?” she demanded.
Noah shrugged with a smirk. “You will find out soon enough. Why? Are you jealous?”
Felicity scoffed, brushing her hand through her thick hair. She was jealous and it annoyed her.
She turned away from Noah, facing the serene beauty of the garden. “What are you going to do with me?” She asked, her voice carrying a hint of sadness. “Whatever torture method you’ve planned, do it fast. I’d like a painless death. You can do that, right? For old times’ sake.”
Felicity didn’t get the response she expected from Noah. Her brows kneaded at his silence but she refused to face him. Felicity, her face carefully composed, kept her eyes fixed on the lush greenery outside, pretending not to notice the sudden
tension in the room.

Finally, Noah’s voice sounded behind her, his breath almost hitting her neck.

“You think I have it in me to torture you?” He asked, his voice tense.
Trying not to let their sudden closeness affect her, Felicity raised her chin and answered,
“Isn’t that why you brought me here? To silence me. To stop me. To stop me from telling the whole world what despicable people the Elsworth are deep down, shedding the blood of the innocent without a second thought?” Her fingers dug into the railing, turning her knuckles white. “You disgust me.”
Felicity flinched as Noah grabbed her arm, turning her around. As they locked eyes, Felicity was satisfied seeing the anger brimming in his eyes.
“Don’t you dare talk about my family like that.” Noah warned.
A dangerous glint flashed through her eyes. “Or what? You’re going to hit me? Or maybe try to choke me like you did before?” She could feel the anger simmering just beneath his skin. Her voice dripped with sarcasm, “Don’t get mad. Why? It’s the truth, isn’t it? You all used me as bait for a psychopath. What was your plan? After Kagen killed me, you’d catch him, and then what? Kill him too?”
“It wasn’t like that!”
“Then why the hell did you use me?!” Felicity fired back, her voice cold and hard as ice.
They stood there, breathing heavily, as they glared at each other. Noah let go of her arm, running a frustrated hand through his hair.
“I didn’t mean to use you. I just couldn’t tell you the truth because I knew- I knew-” The words hung in the air as he took in a shaky breath. Licking his lips, he confessed with a whisper, “I was scared you would leave if I told you everything.”
Noah flinched as Felicity’s finger pressed against his chest, her words jabbing at him.
“Of course I would have left! And you should have been glad I was leaving, considering that you were putting my go***d*n life in danger!” She was seething now. “We are only married on paper. It wasn’t like I was bound to stay with you in the first place.”
Noah sighed, knowing there was little he could do to redeem himself. “Do you still want to leave?”
“Would you let me?” Felicity ****d a brow.
Noah’s answer came swift and blunt. “No.”
“Get out!” Felicity pointed at the door.
Noah nodded and left, shutting the door behind him.
At that moment, Felicity couldn’t hold back the tears anymore. Climbing into her bed, she sobbed for a very long time, letting out the dam she had been holding for a while.
She was tired, bone-dee***
“Why can’t things go back to the way they were?” Felicity murmured to herself. Her mind floated back to those blissful days with Noah, the dates, the pottery, the smiles, and the laughter.
Regret wormed its way into her thoughts. She regretted ever listening to Kagen. She regretted being curious about Noah’s secret background. Maybe if she hadn’t gone poking around, just maybe she’d still be happy.
