Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 191

Chapter 191
It was late in the night when Felicity successfully found a place to stay for the night. Her life had been reduced to this: a nondescript motel on the edge of town, the dull hum of traffic on the street outside providing a discordant soundtrack to her misery.
The small, cosy room was warm and neat, and a long distance from the places she called home; it would be enough for now. It was either this or the streets.
She didn’t dare return to the Orion mansion. It was out of the question; returning there would only put her father in danger, and she didn’t want to drag him into her mess.
Also, in this dangerous world, she had no friends she could trust and turn to, so one motel after another would have to do for now.
When she had gotten to the Estate, she hastily gathered what she could, trying to move as silently as possible, and ordered a cab to whisk her away before any of her bodyguards could discover her disappearance.
Felicity had done everything in her power to cover her tracks. Even abandoned her car in Noah’s garage to stay out of range.
She also left his black card on the bed before scurrying out of the house. The little amount she had left, she had withdrawn and discarded her card in a garbage can.
Her sigh echoed in the empty motel room, the dull beige ceiling above her a reflection of the emptiness inside. “This wasn’t how I imagined today to be,” she muttered tiredly.
Earlier, while on the road, she had sent Beatrice a brief text informing her about an ‘impromptu vacation’ that came up. trusted Beatrice to handle the company while she sorted things out.
She
Next, she texted her father, giving him the same excuse. She hoped Noah would have the decency not to harass her father with her whereabouts, after all, he of all people knew what she was capable of when her dad was threatened.
So, with those brief messages, she’d sealed her fate, permanently turning off her old phone and buying a new one.
Sighing heavily, Felicity reached for the packet of chips she had grabbed from the vending machine at the front of the motel and slowly munched on it. Each chip was like a clock-ticking countdown, the steady crunching noise punctuating the silence of the motel room.
Her mind refused to settle down.
Noah. His name alone sent shivers down her spine. Good or bad shivers? She didn’t know, nor did she want to find out. She wondered if he was searching for her now. He once said he would go on a rampage if she should ever leave him. She’d been happy then but now, faced with this harsh reality, his rampage was what she feared the most.
What about Ian and Axel? Would they come after her too?
Felicity would like to think that Ian might show her compassion. Axel, on the other hand, had never shown her anything but distrust. He wouldn’t hesitate to stab her in the back, would he? Or put a bullet in her head as they did Wilfred.
Wilfred.
The sight of his body hitting the floor flashed through her eyes and she quickly shut down the memory. The mere thought sent fury down her bloodstream.
Revenge. She needed to avenge Wilfred’s death, after all, the poor man died because of her. She didn’t know Noah’s exact reason for ending the poor man’s life but she knew it had something to do with her. She needed to bring him to justice.
But could she hurt Noah though? Especially after discovering her feelings for him. The thought of hurting him twisted her

heart in knots. She was so confused and she hated it.
Not to mention, Kagen, that psychopath, was still out there.

And just when Felicity thought her heart couldn’t be any more tangled, a knock on the door made her freeze. Fear snaked up her spine, her breath catching in her throat as her mind instantly conjured up images of Noah’s cold eyes or Kagen’s twisted smirk
Had they found her?
Every second that passed without a response heightened the tension in the room. Felicity didn’t stand up to inquire until the third knock.
“Who is it?” She asked, her voice on edge. The knocks suddenly stopped, making her pause in suspicion. She didn’t receive a response from the other side.
Slowly, she reached for the small pocket knife she had bought off the counter earlier for self-defense and grasped it close to her as she inched towards the door. She had expected danger but the silence on the other side was deafening.
“I said what do you want?” Her voice was much sharper now. She proceeded to the door, peeking through the peephole, but she didn’t find anyone outside.
Taking a deep breath, Felicity threw open the door, her eyes scanning the deserted corridor, the only thing greeting her was the small angelic figurine on the doorstep.
She frowned, picking up the beautiful glass figurine that was smeared red in some parts. She suspected what the red stain was but didn’t want to believe it. Skeptically, she touched the viscous liquid and brought it up her nose for a sniff.
The metallic smell assaulted her nose fast.
It was BLOOD.
With a loud crash, the delicate figurine crumbled to the floor, slipping from Felicity’s fingers as her heart raced in her chest/
She stared at the bloodied figurine with wide eyes. The sound of the shattering figurine echoed in the empty hallway, the broken pieces scattering on the marble tiles. Who would leave such a grisly thing on her doorstep? And what did it mean?
It didn’t take her long to know who had tracked her down. Only one person had the audacity to leave such a macabre present. Slamming her door shot, she swore under her breath.
“Kagen, you piece of shit. I’ll really kill you.”
