Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 183

Chapter 183
Towards the afternoon, Felicity received an anxious call from Ian.
“Sister-in-law, you have to help me!” Ian sounded scared across the phone.
Felicity sat up, alarmed. The urgency in his tone sent her heart racing, her mind already spinning with worst-case scenarios. “What? What is it? Is Noah alright?”
“As a matter of fact, Noah is not fine,” Ian replied. “Whatever happened between you two, I want you to fix it because he’s about to get rid of the whole marketing and advertising team in the company.”
“What?!” Felicity exclaimed but she quickly calmed down. “What do you want me to do about that?”
Ian’s pleas weighed heavily on Felicity’s mind, her heart aching for the innocent workers who might soon find themselves out of a job. “You have to stop him,” He urged, his words laced with desperation. “Just tell him some sweet words, and I’m sure he’ll light up. I really want to be paid this month.”
Felicity shifted in her seat uncomfortably. The fact that Noah had taken out his anger on the marketing and advertising team instead of confronting her directly indicated that there was more going on beneath the surface. Was he punishing her through them?
“Fine.” She huffed, hanging up the phone and calling Noah. He picked up after one ring.
Noah’s response was curt and clipped. “What?”
“Why are you busy setting off on people?” she asked, the frustration clear in her tone. “If you were so mad about last night, you should have said so. Is this your way of gaining my attention?”
Finally, Noah spoke, his voice cool and controlled. “Ian called you, didn’t he?” There was a note of resignation in his tone as if he’d already guessed the outcome. “I won’t pay him for the next three months.”
Felicity’s retort was quick and sharp. “Yes, you will.”
“No, I won’t.”
“Stop being a baby.”
“Goodbye.” Before Felicity could stop him, Noah already hung up on her. Felicity’s mouth hung open, leaving Felicity staring at her phone in disbelief.
As if on cue, a text from Ian pinged on her screen. “What did you do to him? He is even more angry now.”
“Your boss can shove it up his a** Felicity retorted angrily before ignoring the rest of his messages.
Suddenly, she felt exasperated. All she did was reject his feelings and he was causing trouble. When it would be time for her to leave, would he set the whole world ablaze?
Both of them were foolish for letting their personal feelings get in the way of their contract and goals.
Felicity’s phone lit up, dragging her from her thoughts. Thinking it was lan again, she sighed and prepared to tell him off but was stunned to see it was a message from an unknown number.
“What is this?” Felicity rolled her eyes; thinking it was a prak text, and kept the phone aside, willing herself to focus back on
her work.
“Your husband is not who you think he is.”

But the phone vibrated again and she scowled, this time preparing to tell the person off. The message contained a GPS location with a message;
“If you want to know the truth, come to this location, Felicity.” The message said.
66%1
Sceptical, Felicity paused trying to make sense of the message. The sender definitely knew who she was and she doubted if this was a prank. But the location sent was somewhere she wasn’t familiar with.
“Who is this?” Felicity demanded, her fingers curling into fists as she waited for the reply
“Your greatest admirer.” – The number replied immediately. The response sent a shiver down her spine.
Tense, Felicity’s mind wandered to Kagen. He was the only one she knew who was obsessed enough to go to this length. How the hell did that crazed man get her personal number?
Furious, she typed on her phone. “F***K OFF, YOU B***D!”
The silence that followed Felicity’s outburst was deafening, the seconds stretching out. She was about to hurl her phone across the room when it finally vibrated, the words on the screen sending a chill down her spine.
“B***d? Don’t be so harsh. Come to this address and you’ll think differently,” – the text read – “We will be waiting.”
Felicity finally dropped her phone and for the first time, her heart beat with doubt. She tried to focus on her work throughout the rest of the day but her mind kept on going to the strange text.
First, there was Georgia, who seemed to know a dark secret about Noah. And now, her mysterious stalker was making similar claims. Was there truth to their words, or was this some kind of elaborate, twisted game?
She would have totally ignored it if not for the conversation she heard between Ian and Noah a while back. She knew the Elsworth couldn’t be totally clean, but what was so bad that everyone was warning her about it?
If Noah was just a criminal, he could have told her about it. After all, she wasn’t a saint. So what was everyone hiding?
Felicity thought deeply about it, even as she got to her car to drive home after she was done with work.
Getting to the house, she found Noah sipping wine in the living room, and Instantly, all her previous uncertainty vanished into the air, replaced by a sense of awkwardness as the memory of what happened earlier resurfaced.
“Hey,” she greeted softly and Noah’s eyes immediately snapped to hers and narrowed slightly.
Noah was still dressed in his suit so Felicity assumed he just arrived from work also. He didn’t reply and graced her with a drunken smirk instead. He was gazing at her strangely like a predator lazily studying its prey.
Cautiously, she tried to cross the room, putting as much distance from her and the couch as possible.
He watched her every move, his expression a mixture of amusement and intrigue like he was seeing her for the first time.
She caught the glint of danger in his eyes, the sharp edges of his smirk, and despite herself, she felt a strange thrill of excitement race through her. The way he was looking at her, it was like he was daring her to make a move.
Just when she thought she succeeded, she was suddenly yanked back into the couch, making her yelp.
“Let me go!” Felicity exclaimed as Noah pinned her on the couch with a wicked grin painted on his face.
“Do you know how many people I had to punish because of you today?” Noah asked, tilting his head to the side as he examined her.
Felicity scowled. “Go to hell. It’s not my fault you can’t take no for an answer.”

“You have some nerves. Have you forgotten who I am?” Noah said in a low voice, grinning as a dark look flashed through his
eyes.
Felicity shrank back into the couch. She couldn’t move as Noah pinned her hands beside her head. She slowly said, “Noah, you’re drunk.”
“But I can still think, and decide what I want.” Noah’s gaze lingered on Felicity’s body, his eyes roaming over her curves and angles with an intoxicating hunger. He seemed to revel in the power he held over her, his lips curving into a wicked smirk. “Say you want me.”
“I don’t.” Felicity spat, only holding his gaze for a brief second before looking elsewhere.
Noah leaned down and buried his head in the nape of her neck. His scent was heady, intoxicating, wrapping itself around her like a warm embrace. His lips trailed down her neck, his teeth like a gentle tease as they brushed against her ear, sending shockwaves of desire racing through Felicity’s body.
She bit back the moan that threatened to escape her lips, her body traitorously responding to his touch despite her attempts to resist. Her temperature was rising, her breath coming in short gasps as she fought to maintain control. But she promised not to let him get the satisfaction of knowing he affected her in that way.
Beside her ear, Noah whispered. “This is why I like you, Felicity. You’re so hard to break,” He nipped her ears gently. “But I will break you, that’s a promise. Then you are going to regret ever rejecting me.”
