Chapter 179
Two days later, Georgia’s funeral was held. The sun shined bright, high up in the blue and clear sky like the earth was happy there was one less trash of a person in the world.
The procession was small. Connor didn’t want the funeral to be filled with arrogant rich people, not that any would have come anyway. Goergia didn’t have a lot of genuine friends.
The service was fast and short and in no time, Georgia was six feet under.
The headstone read—Georgia Nidal—as Felicity had pleaded her dad. It was Georgia’s true name, and Felicity stood with grim satisfaction as she watched the grave. She promised to strip Goergia from the Orion name and she did.
Now, she held nothing else against her cousin. May her soul burn in hell.
News about Georgia’s death and funeral trended on the news for only a brief period. The few fans she had left created a a small Instagram page in her honour but it only stayed for a few days before it died down. Everybody’s attention shifted to the next scandal, the next tragedy and they forgot about her
In the blink of an eye another month passed in silence. Felicity was scheduled to get rid of her sling soon-thank God.
Sitting around the small centre table in the house, stuffing her face with pizza, another round of laughter erupted in the
room.
“You should have seen his face. He looked like he had seen a ghost.” Vicky laughed as she finished telling an interesting story about her and Ian’s childhood.
Ian rolled his eyes. “It wasn’t funny then. I thought he was dead.”
“You’re just a wimp.” Axel chimed in, his mouth wide open as he chew.
“And you’re disgusting.” Ian grimaced, throwing a napkin at his face.
Felicity chuckled at the sight. Ian, Axel, and Vicky had come over to the estate suddenly with large boxes of pizza and drinks. She didn’t know what they were celebrating but everyone was happy. What more could she ask for?
“So Felicity how’s your arm? I’m sorry I couldn’t visit you at the hospital when you got shot. I was awefully busy.” Vicky said, her voice laced with remorse.
Felicity’s smile was radiant as she bit into her pizza, her voice warm and reassuring. “Oh, I’m almost healed. Don’t worry about it.” She said. “I’ll be getting my sling off tomorrow.”
“I heard you were trying to save Axel. In my opinion, you should have let him take the bullet.” Vicky laughed, slapping Axel
on the back.
“I said the same thing.” Noah chimed in with a smirk.
Axel scowled in m**k annoyance. “You guys are heartless.”
“It’s fine. He was attacked because of me anyway. Kagen was my stalker, not his. He only got shot because he meddled.” Felicity replied.
The silence that followed Felicity’s remark was heavy and unsettling. As everyone exchanged uncomfortable glances, the air turned awkward.
Felicity’s brow furrowed in confusion at the sudden shift in the atmosphere. “What? Did I say something wrong?” she asked, scanning their faces.

Ian’s laughter was a welcomed distraction as he scratched the back of his head, attempting to steer the conversation away from the grave topic. “No, you didn’t. I think it’s better we leave the heavy topics today. This is a celebration.”
Felicity’s expression became curious as her attention was successfully diverted. “What are we celebrating anyway?” she asked, intrigued.
“My birthday!” Vicky exclaimed excitedly.
The shock on Felicity’s face was clear, and she glanced around the room in surprise. No one looked surprised about the information except her. “What? Why did no one say anything?” Her tone had a tinge of anger in it as she gazed at them on disbelief. “I didn’t even get you a gift.”
“Oh, Vicky hates gift,” Noah replied, “That’s why none of us bought her any. The gifts will all end up getting burnt. The only gifts she accepts are those from my parents,”
Felicity processed the weird information before hitting Noah on the shoulder. “You should have told me regardless. You’re making me look bad.”
“You are bad.” Axel snorted.
Felicity snapped at him. “Shut it.”
“It’s really alright, Felicity,” Vicky interjected with a reassuring smile. “I prefer my birthdays small and simple like this.”
Felicity gave a sigh of resignation: She mustered a smile, “Happy birthday, Vicky.”
“Thank you.” Vicky grinned, picking up another piece of pizza. There were two empty boxes on the floor by now and they were half-way into their third and final box. “Happy thirtieth to me.”
“You’re getting old.” Ian blurted.
“Shut the hell up!” Both Vicky and Felicity snapped at him in unison, catching him off guard, their cold and sharp gaze fixated on him. He raised his hands in surrender and apologised before they tore their stern eyes from him.
“Okay,” Vicky said, standing up. “I want some orange juice. Noah, do you have any oranges?”
“Yeah, they are in the kitchen.” He waved his hand dismissively.
“Felicity, please help me.” Vicky told her and Felicity followed her to the kitchen, leaving the men to fight over the last slice of pizza. “So, how are you faring?”
“With Noah? Everything is splendid.” Felicity replied honestly. “He is a nice person.”
“I’m so happy he found you, I couldn’t have asked for a better sister-in-law,” Vicky said, and Felicity flushed in embarrassment. “I heard about the incident with Georgia. Thanks for being there for him.”
“It’s my responsibility,” Felicity responded.

Vicky smiled softly before muttering, “I was afraid at first, you know? Noah means so much to me and I was afraid going to hurt him, especially when I saw his feelings for you had started to change. But now, I can be rest assured because I can see the love in your eyes for him too.”
A series of coughs erupted in the kitchen as Felicity choked on the orange she was sucking on. Her face turned beet red as she managed to contain her coughing feat and finally take in a handful of air.
“Are you okay?” Worried, Vicky asked. She hadn’t expected Felicity to burst out in a coughing feat like that.
“I’m fine,” Felicity wheezed, trying to catch her breath. After calming down slightly, she whipped get head to Vicky. “What do you mean by that?”

“I asked if you were fine.”
“No. Before that. You said you saw what in my eyes?” Felicity asked in disbelief.

“Love,” Vicky repeated herself, gazing at Felicity strangely. “You love him, do you not? I’ve seen the way you look at him.”
“I look at him normally, like I look at every other human being” Felicity insisted, shaking her head.
Vicky paused, then tilted her head to the side as a smirk overcame her beautiful face. “You’re in denial.”
“No, I’m not.”
“Yes, you are,” Vicky retorted with a grin. “This is fantastic. You both are honestly so cute. This is the best birthday present a woman could ask for.”
Vicky took her freshly squeezed glass of orange juice and s**ped to the sitting room, leaving Felicity standing perplexed trying to process the onslaught of information that was just dumped on her.
Dazed, she drudged into the living room. Love? That was ridiculous. She couldn’t possibly love Noah… right?
Her gaze darted down to the man in question, who was laughing at something Ian t said. She started admiring his smile before she woke up and shook her head.
Nope, it couldn’t happen.
“Scoot over,” She told Axel as she sat between Axel and Ian, and not beside Noah like she did before.
“Why are you over there?” Noah asked, a flash of sadness in his eyes. He pointed at the spot beside him. “Come sit over here.”
Felicity shook her head, not looking into his eyes. “I’m fine.”
Noah turned to Vicky with an aggrieved expression. “Hey! What did you tell her? I hope you didn’t tell lies about me to make me look bad.”

Vicky placed her hand on her heart. “I swear I told her nothing but the truth,” she said before laughing to herself as her eyes darted to Felicity.
Noah didn’t belief her but couldn’t do anything about it. He stood up and scooped Felicity from her spot, ignoring her screams of protests. He returned back to his spot and sat, placing Felicity on his lap.
“Look, I save you the last slice of pizza. You didn’t eat much earlier. Take it.” Noah placed the pizza on her palm.
“Thanks.” Felicity murmured slowly, still refusing to meet his eyes. She moved to leave his lap but his hold around her tightened.
“Stop squirming or I’ll kiss you.” Noah whispered into her ear, sending shivers down her spine. She was suddenly made aware of his gentle strokes on her back and the closeness of their body.
At that moment, she locked eyes with Vicky’s knowing gaze and caught sight of her cu***ng smile behind the glass of juice. “S**t.” She whispered to herself. She really did have feelings for Noah Elsworth.
