When Felicity hurriedly arrived, she grabbed the first pair of sunglasses she saw to avoid drawing attention.
Unbeknownst to her, they were the ones she had taken from Noah’s hotel room.
Noah couldn’t help but smirk at Felicity’s embarrassed expression.
“Since Miss Orion approached me, it’s important to note that I’m not quick to forgive. You exploited our encounter and left abruptly the next day. Additionally, you turned down my proposal twice, despite my assistance in exposing your boyfriend’s infidelity. Why should I entertain your words now?”
“This is a misunderstanding. I wasn’t aware of your identity when we were together, nor did I know you were behind the envelopes. Had I known, I would’ve handled things differently. I believe we can resolve this without involving the courts.”
Noah edged closer to her. “Can you repair the emotional distress I experienced when a stranger unexpectedly kissed me without my consent?”
“Emotional distress?” Felicity spluttered incredulously. “Mr. Elsworth, you’re a grown man. A kiss couldn’t have caused you emotional distress.” She sensed Noah was trying to corner her. “I trust you’re a decent man and won’t allow a minor incident like this to derail my career.”

He had a point too. She was too financially strained to battle him in court. If he followed through with his threat, it would spell disaster for her reputation and career. Naturally, everyone would support the powerful Noah Elsworth.
Felicity hesitated. “If I agree to marry you, will you truly drop the lawsuit?”
“Absolutely. I wouldn’t send my wife to jail,” he smirked.
“Then, I have some conditions,” Felicity stated firmly. If she was going to be coerced into marriage, she intended to benefit from it.
“Speak.”
She smiled. “First, I want our marriage to remain a secret from the public. I don’t want your admirers to attack me; it would harm my career. Secondly, do not interfere with my personal life. I promise not to pursue other men now that we’re married, and you must promise to remain faithful to me.”
After hearing her requests, Noah nodded. “I’m not a cheater. I promise to stay loyal. I agree with your conditions, but… married people need to live together, so you’ll have to reside with me. I assume you have no objections, considering your current living situation isn’t quite… safe.”

Felicity didn’t want to think much about it, she would take his word for it.
“Shall we go?” Noah arched an eyebrow.

In no time. Felicity emerged from the civil affairs office alongside Noah.
Just a few days ago, she had sworn never to marry, yet here she was, clutching her. wedding certificate.
