Chapter 16
“Twertty-four hours! Damin him! Felicity seethed in her car, pressing down on the accelerator, urging the car to go faster. Exceeding the speed limit was a minor concern compared to her current predicament.
Upon reviewing the lawsuit, she realised Noah had the power to take her to court if he chose to. She couldn’t deny that she had impulsively kissed hi without his consent.
But it was just a kiss! Why did he have to be such a baby about it? She was sure he had kissed many women before.
Felicity chastised herself. If she had known it was Noah Elsworth, she would not have gotten so close to him. Why did he have to be in that hotel that night?
No wonder he asked for her hand in marriage, she reckoned that he was a traditional man like her father. She should have found it suspicious then and connected the dots. Now, he was threatening her with a lawsuit.
When she parked in front of the Elsworth group, it was already getting dark. From her small google research on the way here, she found out that he was the CEO of the company though she couldn’t find any of his pictures online. For some reason, the Elsworth family were very private.
Intimidating security guards were patrolling the equally intimidating building. They didn’t stop her as she walked in.
“I am here to see Noah Elsworth, please,” she informed the female receptionist.
The receptionist scrutinized Felicity with disdain as she mentioned her boss’s name. Despite Felicity’s stunning appearance, dressed simply in a short red gown with no makeup, the receptionist mistook her for one of those girls who tried to make a move on her boss by claiming to know him.
Felicity’s natural beauty only intensified the receptionist’s jealousy, immediately souring her impression of Felicity.
“Do you have an appointment?” The lady asked Felicity somewhat rudely.
“No but-”
“If you do not have an appointment, please leave. Mr. Noah is not someone you can

Felicity was taken aback by her rudeness. The receptionist didn’t explain
“I understand I don’t have an appointment with him, but I’m certain he’s expecting me, Just tell him that Felic=”
“Expecting to see you? Spare someone else your excuses. Women like you have no shame, attempting to seduce wealthy men. Find another target for your tricks. My boss is not easily swayed. He’s unavailable. Now, leave, Security!” The woman shouted, attracting attention to their exchange.
As a tall, muscular bodyguard approached to escort Felicity out, she resisted, her anxiety mounting at the thought of not seeing Noah and the consequences it might entail. With no way to contact him directly, her desperation grew.
“What’s happening here?”
“Assistant lan,” the receptionist greeted, straightening her attire. She shot Felicity a disdainful glance before explaining, “This woman barged in here trying to see Mr. Noah. She was causing a commotion, so I was about to escort her out when you arrived.” She concluded with a smile.
‘Liar! Felicity thought, knowing she hadn’t caused any disturbance; it was the receptionist who hadn’t allowed her to explain herself.
Felicity felt a surge of disdain towards people like the receptionist; they reminded her of Georgia.
Straightening her posture, she turned to Assistant lan, only to be taken aback by who
she saw.
“It’s you.” Standing before her was the same man who had handed her the envelope. containing the note and ring on the day she was assassinated.
When Assistant lan laid eyes on Felicity, his icy demeanor melted away, replaced by a look of reverence.
“Miss Orion, you’re here. The boss has been anticipating your arrival. Allow me to escort you to his office. As for you, return to your post,” He waved off the bodyguard dismissively, saying, “Miss Orion, don’t concern yourself with the staff; they lack discernment. They cannot recognize true greatness.”

He said as he directed Felicity to the private elevator that led straight to the boss’s office, leaving the receptionist quivering in her seat
Does that mean Mr. Noah was expecting her I am finished, she cried in her heart.
Meanwhile, Felicity was still trying to wrap her head around what was going on. Before she could say anything, the elevator opened to reveal an enormous office.
It was truly beautiful. A floor-to-ceiling glass window offered a breathtaking view of the city skyline. A plush couch sat nearby, accompanied by a large shelf brimmin with books and awards. At the center of the room stood a majestic desk and chair, currently occupied by a man engrossed in paperwork..
The man tilted his head up slightly from the documents on his desk to cast a glance at the unexpected visitors, emanating a formidable aura.
Felicity froze as her hazel eyes met his familiar green orbs.
Gorgeous. That was the word to describe Noah Elsworth. Absolutely gorgeous. He was undeniably the most handsome man Felicity had ever seen.
A cough jolted her from her reverie. “Sir, Miss Orion is here to see you,” Ian announced before vanishing from the room.
The temperature in the room seemed to drop as Felicity felt his gaze trailing down her figure.
Unfazed by his piercing glance, Felicity approached his table and took a seat in front of
him.
“Mr. Noah, first of all, I want to apologize for kissing you that night in the hotel. If I had known it was you, I would have refrained from such actions. I was in a dire situation and not in my right state of mind. I apologize again.”
Her eyes knitted slightly as she noticed no reaction from the man opposite her. She shifted uncomfortably in her seat before retrieving the lawsuit from her bag.
“Mr. Noah, I don’t think this is necessary. I acknowledge my mistake, and I’m willing to take responsibility for my actions. I hope we can come to a compromise.”
Noah walked around the table and halted in front of her. Leaning against his desk, he tilted his head to the side and scoffed, “Compromise? What could you possibly have that I need? Not only did you take advantage of me, but you also stole from me.”

He reached out and removed the sunglasses from her face. “These are mine. I should have you arrested for theft too.”
