Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 15

Chapter 15
On getting outside, Felicity received a phone call from Lilian.
“Felicity, you got the role for ‘Daunting Lullaby! Lilian’s voice burst with excitement over the phone. It was the first promising role they’d landed in ages, and she couldn’t contain her joy.
Felicity couldn’t help the smile that spread across her face. This movie
the
potential to become a bestseller in the future. It was her chance to make a triumphant comeback in the industry.
Felicity released the photographs when she did because she wanted to diminish Georgia’s chances of landing the role. Despite Felicity’s superior acting skills, Georgia’s better reputation could sway the director’s decision.
Sabotaging Georgia’s reputation was Felicity’s only assurance of securing the role, and she felt justified in doing so. It was a small payback for what Georgia had put her through.
Im glad Felicity said, her voice tinged with relief and excitement.
“We should definitely celebrate your victories and rub it in the faces of those backstabbers,” she agreed with a hint of satisfaction.
Im not a victor yet. It’s just one role. We will throw a huge party when I win the Best Actress award, Felicity declared, a sparkle of determination in her eyes.
“The Best Actress award!” Lilian’s excitement was apparent through the phone, “I absolutely believe in you. You’ve got this.”
“Thank you for always being there and believing in me, Felicity said warmly, feeling grateful for Lilian’s unwavering support
“Okay, but you better show up early tomorrow for the contract signing. Don’t mess this up, or I’ll kill you and bury you in a ditch, got it?” Lilian’s tone carried a hint of playful
threat
“I’ll do my best, Felicity replied, trying to match Lilian’s light-heartedness.
Lilian’s squeal of delight echoed through the phone. “I’ll be your biggest cheerleader, she promised.

Chapter 15
Felicity smiled, hanging up the phone.
The drive to her apartment was quiet, with Felicity remaining cautious after the attempt on her life the previous night.
As she approached the reception of her apartment building, an unfamiliar man intercepted her. He was clad in a black suit, exuding an air of solemnity.
Felicity instinctively took a step back, her wariness evident. Despite the unely prospect of an attack in broad daylight, she remained vigilant.
“Miss Orion?” His monotone voice came.
“Yes?” She answered, slowly.
He extended a file towards her, his expression stoic. “I’m Caleb Miller, and I’m serving you with legal documents in the case of Noah Elsworth versus Felicity Orion,” He stated, calmly.
“W-what?” Felicity’s voice trembled with confusion as she stared at him, as if he was crazy. She glanced around to see if anyone was standing behind her but found no one. She turned and pointed at herself in bewilderment. “You’re talking to me?”
“Yes, Miss Orion, you’ve been sued for harassment, and the plaintiff wishes to hear from you soon,” Caleb reiterated calmly.
“I don’t have time for jokes like this,” Felicity muttered, glancing around suspiciously. She was certain there was a paparazzi lurking nearby, ready to capture her reaction.
Her recent rise to fame had made her a target for pranks and scandals, so it wouldn’t be surprising if someone was trying to pull a stunt on her.
Felicity dismissed Caleb with a wave, “This isn’t a joke, Miss Orion. You have been summoned to court,” Caleb brought out his ID.
Reluctantly, Felicity accepted the ID, her scepticism turning to shock as she realised Caleb was from Hera Law Firm, one of the most prestigious firms in the city.
She almost dropped the ID.
The ID couldn’t be fake. It was impossible.
This was serious.

Felicity snatched the papers from him in disbelief, hastily scanning through them. “Harassment? What the f**k?” she muttered under her breath. When has she ever harassed anyone?
Her heart ski**ed a beat as she froze upon seeing the name of the plaintiff. “Noah Elsworth? As in the Elsworth family?”
The same family that had asked for her hand in marriage. Did they pull this stunt as revenge for rejecting them?
If word of this lawsuit got out, Felicity knew she’d be in a tight spot. She had just landed a role and hadn’t even finalised the contract yet. She couldn’t afford to let all her hard work go to waste like this.
“You must be mistaken. I haven’t met Noah Elsworth or any of the Elsworth family for that matter. If you want to sue me, provide proof, if not, I’ll see you in court,” Felicity stated firmly, her head held high. She was determined to show the Elsworth family that she wasn’t one to be bullied.
“There is proof,” Caleb replied calmly.
Felicity’s heart sank at his words, a feeling of dread settling in her stomach.
Caleb continued, his tone unwavering, “We have security footage that supports our claim. I suggest you review the documents. You have twenty-four hours to respond.”
“Twenty-four hours?” Felicity’s brows shot up in surprise. “Shouldn’t I have like thirty -days?”
“No, you have twenty-four hours,” Caleb repeated, before turning exiting the building.
n his heel and
“Hey!” Felicity screamed, brushing her hair back as she contemplated chasing after him. in desperation.
What nonsense was he spouting? Why on earth would she harass Noah Elsworth of all people? She didn’t have a death wish. She valued her life immensely.
She promised to stay away from trouble this time but why did trouble always find her?
Felicity sank onto a metal chair against the wall, feeling the weight of the situation settling heavily upon her.

Chapter 13
With trembling hands, she opened the file and began to read its contents.
“On August 8th, at approximately 10:00 p.m., the defendant engaged in unwelcome and persistent behaviour towards the plaintiff. The defendant subjected the plaintiff to unwanted advances such as kissing or groping, creating a hostile and intimidating. environment…” As she read on, Felicity’s hand flew to cover her mouth in realisation. That day at the hotel, the man she spent the night with was Noah Elsworth!
