Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 168

Chapter 168
Noah was on the highway when his body started to heat up. Getting to a red light, he took off his suit jacket and rolled down the window for air but it did nothing to quell the fire burning inside him.
It was when his vision started to blur he knew something was wrong with him. Growing up, Noah had undergone many drugs and poison tests-considering his mother’s strange hobby of growing poison-and he was familiar with most of them. So, he definitely knew when something had entered his system.
He was drugged, he deduced in a matter of seconds. But how? His mind raced. The only thing he had had was a cup of water
-that was it.
He recalled how he dismissed the maid’s trembling hands as fear, but now he realised the truth: she’d been afraid of him, yes, but not in the way he’d assumed. Damn it, he should have known.
But why drug him?
His foot pressed down on the accelerator, willing the car to go faster before he lost his grip on his mind and got into an accident. That would be a pathetic way to die.
Getting to the estate, Noah stumbled from the car, gripping his head as the world around him spun. He shook his head, trying to clear the drowsiness, but it only made his headache worse.
He entered the house and went straight to the kitchen for a glass of water to quell the heat but nothing worked. Taking off his shirt, he was half-naked as he got into his room.
Ian!
He needed to inform Ian. Noah didn’t know why he was drugged but he needed to get it out of his system immediately. This wasn’t the time to be vulnerable, not when K was lurking in the shadows waiting to strike.
“Phone,” he muttered, half to himself as he searched for his cell. But the device seemed to have vanished into thin air, adding to his growing confusion.
He paused when he saw a shadow looming at the doorway.
The figure dangled an object in the air-his phone-and taunted. “Looking for this?”
Noah stumbled forward, his voice wavering. “Yes, give it to me.”
A chuckle echoed in the room, and Noah watched as the figure slammed his phone to the floor and stepped on it. Rage clouded his vision and he took another step forward, intending to strangle whoever it was.
Getting closer, his vision sharpened just enough for him to see the figure’s face. It was a woman. For a split second, his mind played a cruel trick, making him think it was Felicity.
No, Noah thought, wrinkling his nose in distaste as a sharp perfume assaulted his senses. Felicity didn’t smell nasty.
Why was a nasty-smelling woman in his house?
“Who the f***k are you?!” He demanded, his voice razor-sharp as he finally registered the threat.
Georgia clapped her hands, mocking him with a cackling laugh. The grin on her face was filled with malice as she took in the sight of a shirtless Noah. “Don’t you recognise me, Mr. Elsworth? Is it the drugs or am I so insignificant to remember in your eyes?”
“Well, if you must know,” she drawled with a smirk, “I’m your sister-in-law, Georgia.”

For Georgia, this moment was the peak of everything she’d dreamed of. She couldn’t believe her plan was working. Here she was, standing in front of THE Noah Elsworth.
“You have no idea how long I’ve waited for this.” Georgia purred, a mirthless smile spreading across her lips.
Finally, she would get to take what was rightfully hers and live the life she had always craved for-hurting Felicity was a bonus. After spending a night with the man in front of her, everything would be solved.
Georgia’s meticulous planning had paid off. Last night, she threatened the maid and gave her pills ensuring that she’d spike Noah’s water with a potent dose of the drug.
Immediately Georgia saw their car pull up in the driveway, she snuck into the trunk and waited, getting out only after Noah had arrived at the estate.
Georgia knew Felicity well enough to know she wouldn’t leave her dad in his condition and that was the reason she had dragged Connor into her plan to rattle Felicity.
Whether Noah would leave without Felicity was a gamble she took and it paid off. God was surely on her side. It was time to start what she came for and she planned to enjoy every moment of it.
In no time, Georgia stripped out of her dress, letting it pool at her feet. Her red lingerie hugged her body like a second skin, the lacy fabric doing little to hide her seductive curves. She sauntered closer to Noah, confident he wouldn’t be able to resist her.
She watched as Noah struggled to stay upright, his body wracked with the effects of the drug. A wicked smile played on her lips.
“Noah, darling,” she purred, sliding one long finger across his chest. His taut muscles rippled under her touch, sending a balt of pleasure through her body. She had never seen a man more gorgeous. Caster didn’t hold a candle to this man.
Noah was perfection and the thought of being with him made her giddy inside and made her core throb with desire.
While Noah stood rooted in his spot, she admired how strong he was. The drug she administered was potent enough to knock him out after a few sips, and yet Noah remained standing.
The fact that he was still standing, albeit barely, was a testament to how strong he was, and Georgia loved strong men. Pressing her chest to his body, her hand trailed down to his trousers, skimming the edges, teasingly. She leaned in, her lips inches from his ear, her breath hot against his skin. “Are you ready?” She practically moaned in anticipation as she attempted to undo his belt..
Before she could touch him, however, Noah’s hand shot up and wrapped around her neck tightly, lifting her from the floor before slamming her against the wall.
Georgia gasped, her body shuddering from the impact as her head slammed into the wall with enough force to make her see stars. Pain radiated through her skull as her breath got knocked out of her.
Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes, blurring her vision as she fought to focus on Noah’s face, his features twisted with rage. She was definitely going to have a concussion after this.
Looking up at Noah, Georgia clawed his arms, her nails digging into his skin in a pathetic attempt to free herself but Noah didn’t budge.
Noah gazed down at her, his eyes glinting with malice, the sick smirk on his face twisting her stomach into knots. “Felicity might have kept you alive, but I won’t hesitate to put a bullet through that ugly head of yours.”
