Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 167

Chapter 167
Felicity made sure her dad was clean, fed, and properly tucked in before leaving him to rest in his room.
She went downstairs to Noah lounging in the living room. Sighing, she apologised, “I’m sorry for dragging you from work for nothing.”
“It wasn’t for nothing. You had a good reason to. By the way, I had nothing important to do anyway. Ian can take care of the rest for today.” Noah smiled.
At the mention of lan, Felicity recalled the strange conversation she overheard the two of them have. She hadn’t mustered the courage to ask Noah about it yet fearing he would accuse her of eavesdropping.
“Helen,” Felicity called out, averting her gaze from Noah before he started to suspect something. “Did you truly not see my call?”
“No, Ma’am. I guess the network was terrible this morning.” Helen replied.
Felicity hummed but she found it weird. She definitely called. Was the network in the area bad? That was very unlikely since a notice would have been given.
“Sir, Madam, what may we offer you?” Helen asked, looking between them.
“I’ll have a glass of water,” Noah replied.
“I’m fine,” Felicity said.
Helen nodded and the maid, who had welcomed them initially, sprang into action. In no time, the maid presented a glass of water to Noah.
As she dropped it, Noah noticed her hands trembling and she refused to look into his eyes. He arched his brow. Was he so intimidating?
He took the glass and took a few sips.
“Since your dad is fine now. I have a few things I need to take care of at home,” Noah said, standing up. Since he wasn’t returning to the office, he would use the time to sort some documents at home. Maybe even visit the warehouses in the process. “Are you coming?” he asked Felicity.
“I’ll wait for my dad to wake up first. Thank you for bringing me here.” Felicity said in gratitude.
“It’s my pleasure.” He smiled before placing a kiss on her forehead while the maids looked away, flushed.
Felicity saw him to the door and watched as he drove in and left. She sat on the sofa before scanning the house one more time. The mansion was quiet and serene, it was something that she was not used to.
Back when Patricia was around her voice would be heard barking orders or causing unnecessary drama around the house. Then she suddenly recalled something that was missing. Georgia. Since they returned, Felicity hadn’t set eyes on her which was unlike Georgia who loved to flaunt herself. Come to think of it, Georgia had gone silent for a month now.
“Where is Georgia?” Felicity asked Helen.
“Miss Georgia hasn’t been at home for a month. She did come three days ago though but she left last night.”.
Felicity arched a brow. Where was Georgia in the past month? And how convenient she left a day before Felicity visited. “Last night?”

Chapter 167
Helen nodded. “She had an argument with Mr. Orion yesterday evening before she left.”
Now Felicity’s interest was piqued. “What were they arguing about?”
“I didn’t hear clearly but I think it was about you. Miss Georgia was pretty rattled up, she was crying and your father looked mad. It looked pretty serious.” Helen replied solemnly. “Then she left.”
Another maid brought a glass of juice for Felicity and she chimed in, “Miss Georgia never left, she came back.”
“What do you mean? I saw her get into her car and drive off. She hasn’t come back since then.” Helen countered.
The maid shook her head. “She drove off but a cab dropped her off late last night. I remember seeing her snooping around the kitchen and wine cabinet with Julia.”
“Who is Julia?” Felicity asked.
“The maid who welcomed you when you came. She’s quite jumpy.” Helen replied.
“So you mean Georgia is in her room right now?” Felicity inquired.
The maid answered, “No, her room is empty, which is weird since no one saw her leave. She must be in the house somewhere probably hiding from us like she always does.”
Felicity’s brows were pinched together. The maids didn’t get along with Georgia, she had made sure of that. So why was Georgia caught snoopy around with a maid? Had she managed to get a leash on one of them?
That didn’t sound good.
“My dad only had a few glasses of wine but he was out cold,” Felicity started. “Who served him his drink and when?” “Mister Orion requested for his wine late last night too. Julia was the one who attended to him, Miss.” Helen answered.
C***g her head to the side, a grave feeling enveloped Felicity. “Get me Julia and find Georgia. Now!” She ordered, her voice so cold it scared Helen and the other maid. They were confused about why she was suddenly angry but did as they were told.
They nodded and a few minutes later, Helen returned with Julia. Julia was sweating profusely, clenching the sides of her uniform nervously.
Felicity stood in front of the maid. “What did you do?” She asked. Something deep in her gut told her something was wrong somewhere, she had felt so the moment she stepped into the mansion.
“Ma’am, I-I don’t think I follow.” Julia stuttered, refusing to meet Felicity in the eyes.
Felicity grabbed the maid’s arm and yanked her forward. This time, her voice was deadlier. “What did you do? And before you answer, know that if you lie to me, I will make sure you leave this house mangled.”
The maid collapsed on her knees and burst into tears. “I didn’t want to do it. She forced me. I didn’t have a choice!”
Helen watched the scene in shock. She had not sensed anything amiss with Julia.
Tell me what exactly you did before I lose my patience with you. Felicity spat.
Julia gulped, tears streaming down her face. Her voice wavered as she answered, “Miss Georgia asked me to add pills to Mister Orion’s drink. I tried to protest but she knew things about me and promised to harm my family. I had no choice. I told her I didn’t want to be responsible for anyone’s death but she assured me the pills would only make Mr. Orion sleep and not kill him.”
“Why would she need my dad to be asleep?” Felicity inquired.

“Because she wanted you to come here. I don’t know why but she wanted you and your husband here, and the only way she could do that was if you thought Mr. Orion was in danger. She even jammed the cell signals in the house.” Julia confessed.
Massaging her forehead, Felicity’s mind raced with possibilities as to why Georgia would want her in the house. First, Georgia had a big fight with her dad, could Connor have threatened her life? Is that why she was so rattled? Her dad must have uncovered some truth about her.
But why bring Felicity here? And wait didn’t Julia mention Noah? Why would she want Noah here?
“Why did she want my husband here?” Felicity asked, cautiously.
Julia broke into a sob. “I don’t know. She only said you couldn’t come alone in
your
condition.”
Her condition? Felicity looked down at her slinged arm. Georgia knew she was shot. She must have found out somehow. If that was the case, Felicity was lured here but she wasn’t the main target, it was Noah. She wanted Noah here, not her.
But why? They had no business together, they’ve hardly ever spoken. Felicity’s heart pounded in her chest as worry clouded her vision.
“I have one more thing to say,” Julia finally lifted her head to gaze at Felicity, eyes filled with remorse. She bit her lips in hesitation before saying, “Miss Georgia gave me another pill last night. She said if your husband arrived, I should make sure to give it to him at all costs, or else she was going to hurt my family.”
Felicity’s heart sank and a foreboding feeling crept into her chest. She scrambled for her phone and called Noah, but he wasn’t picking up. She tried several times but no answer.
She was worried Georgia had given Noah sleeping pills too. He was driving and it would be dire if he fell asleep on the wheel.
Was this Georgia’s plan? Felicity hurt her and her mother so they decided to hurt her in return. Since they couldn’t hurt Connor to avoid suspicion on them, they decided to hurt Noah instead.
“What kind of pills did she give my husband?!” Felicity exclaimed in frustration.
“I don’t know,” Julia replied and before she could finish, the other maid came pounding down the stairs, breathing heavily
She told Felicity. “I checked the CCTV, Miss Georgia isn’t in the house. She got into your husband’s car.”
