Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 160

Chapter 160
Noah leaned back in his seat. “I thought it would be better if, at least, one person knew what I’m really involved in.”
“You didn’t tell her?” Connor gaped in disbelief. “You should tell her, so she’ll know what she is actually dealing withTM
“Twill eventually!
“But when?” Connor barked. “You should let her decide if she wants to lead a dangerous life with you instead of leading her blindly. Your fear of losing her will get her killed!”
Noah clenched his jaw and fist in anger. He was mad at Connor but only because the man spoke the truth. He was starting to let his fear get the better of him.
“Felicity won’t be able to work for now. I’m sorry for dragging you from your retirement but you will have to step up and run the business for now.” Noah went straight to the point before adding, “And believe me, if things ever go awry and out of control. I’ll bring her to you. I would rather die than see her hurt one more time,”
“Better,” Connor said and they both held each other’s gazes for a brief moment before a knock sounded on the door.
Connor opened the door to room service who brought him his lunch. He accepted it before sending them
away!
On his plate was fried rice and chicken which he hungrily dug into. All his talk with Noah had left him starving want some?” He asked his brooding son-in-law.
“Do you
“I’m fine.” Noah shrugged and looked away.
Connor shrugged, “Suit yourself.” And continued eating his food. Halfway into his meal, he said, “I want to know more about your family’s gang and the person who dared to harm my daughter.”
“My family’s business is not one I talk about casually, Noah answered, coldly.
“Well, we are family now, are we not? I have a right to know since you’re currently wedded to my child, and not to mention I have enough dirt on you. If you don’t want Felicity to hear all about your shady dealings, you better start talking, boy.” Connor spat, shamelessly using his daughter’s name to threaten Noah.
Noah sighed, throwing Connor a glare before starting. “First of all, it’s not a gang. He delved into an interesting story about his family business. He also filled Connor up about their involvement with K and the possible connection with Felicity.
Connor strongly denied ever knowing someone named Kagen close to Felicity. But seeing that Connor knew next to nothing about his child, Noah doubted Connor would be aware if Felicity was indeed related to K somehow.
They talked for a few more hours and the tension between them subsided a bit. Noah checked the time on his phone and knew it was time to handle his other business.
Just as he stood to leave, Connor voiced out, his face blank from any emotion. “Is everything you said earlier true? Georgia and Patricia bullied Felicity.”
“You weren’t the only one they hated,” Noah answered. “Find out the rest yourself; He said before strolling out of the room, leaving Connor drowning in guilt.
Noah got to his car and started the engine. His next destination was his warehouse. It was time to finally meet the man who dared harm his wife.
The drive was long since this particular warehouse was located in a secluded part of the city. It was already night when he got there and he was welcomed by the sound of crickets from the surrounding bushes.
The building was patrolled by numerous armed men, no one could go in or out without thorough identification. Noah knew

that their security had never been better.
It didn’t take
long for Noahs to find the man he was looking for, he just followed the screams.
More than ten prisoners were being tortured deep in the warehouse, all K’s men they’d managed to apprehend in the last couple of days. Each room he passed had a man or two being beaten to a pulp.
The whole place reeked of blood and at the centre of it all was rione other than Axel Elsworth.
Axel refused to take a break after his near-death experience and brought it upon himself to track down K’s men in the city. Axel hadn’t taken a proper rest in days and was hurled up in the warehouse torturing people for answers.
“Glad of you to join us. You surely took your precious time.” Axel stated, immediately he spotted Noah. His green eyes were darker than normal, and there were little to no emotions in them.
Sitting in front of a b***dy man, Axel twirled a blood-stained hammer in his hand like a wand. His face and the blue shirt he was wearing had a few splatters of blood on them. He was in the middle of an interrogation.
“Relax, I had other matters to attend to,” Noah answered before averting his gaze to lan who was sitting at the corner of the room. typing away on his phone. “Tan, how is the company doing?”
Without glancing up from his phone, lan replied. “You better hurl your a** back to the office soon or I am quitting. I’m tired of stamping paperwork and sitting through boring meetings. You don’t pay me enough for this.”
“What do you need more money for?” Axel countered lan lazily. “You’re a f***g billionaire.”
Jan finally looked up from his phone to throw Axel a glare. “Doesn’t change a thing.”
Axel and Noah simultaneously rolled their eyes. Ian could be dramatic at times. His lazy a**couldn’t even handle the company for three days.
“Speaking of handling things,” Axel spoke up, throwing the hammer he was holding at Noah’s feet. He pointed at the bl***dy man, strapped to a chair. “This is Mike. I’ve tried my best not to kill him like you asked, take it from here.”
Noah kicked the grimy hammer to the opposite side of the room in disgust. He rolled up his sleeves before taking a seat in
front of Mike.
Axel had done a number on him. His left eye was swollen shut, his lips were busted with several cuts, his nose was at an odd angle, and there were several bruises on his f*ace.
Blood was oozing from several cuts on his body and he smelled like *it. Noah couldn’t see everything through the dirt but he knew that Mike may also have a few broken bones to add to the collection
“Hi, Mike, I’m Noah.” Noah introduced himself.
“Please,” Mike coughed out, almost choking on his blood. Her started pleading, “Please, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt her. I was aiming for the man. She came out of nowhere.”
“You made a mistake,” Noah said, feigning a look of pity. Mike weakly nodded his head, “Yes, I did.”
Noah sighed. “Too bad that mistake will cost you your life.”
