Chapter 143
The following weeks, the news about Charles and Delilah’s pitifid state was the only thing the internet could talk about.
Rotting fingers and loss of speech were not something doctors were familiar with and professionals all over the world came to study and help the old couple but ultimately couldn’t find a solution.
How could they? The only person knowledgeable about the poison was the proud creator herself, Rebecca Elsworth.
After weeks of research, they finally agreed on amputating the infected part of the body. Charles and Delilah could no longer walk, hold or talk they were completely useless, and the Walker family had fallen.
No one wanted to associate with them for fear of contacting whatever they were infected with since doctors couldn’t find the cause of the rot.
Walker corporation suffered a huge blow, and they were at the brink of bankruptcy. In a last desperate attempt, Caster was searching for sources to get money from since even their illegal business was crttrnbling as their leader was disabled.
Georgia read the latest article about Walker corporation’s certain doom with a deep look on her face. Could you blame her? She and this man had made plans together and watching him in this state moved her heart, no matter how cold it was.
“If you had treated me better, I would have helped you.” She murmured under breath as the car came to a stop.
“We are here, Ma’am.” The cab driver informed and she picked up her things a
stepped out.
With a face mask and black shades over face, she stood before Emerald hotel and dazed out a little.
Just a few months ago, Georgia was convinced Felicity’s life would end here, while hers would begin. But as fate had it, Felicity managed to escape the treacherous path they had prepared for her. Lucky.
Shaking off the strange feelings, Georgia entered the building and went straight to the room where her meeting was taking place, making sure no one recognised her as she went. What she didn’t need now was another scandal.
Knocking on the door, a robust old man answered the door a few moments later. He wasn’t putting on a shirt, leaving his protruding and hairy body for everyone to see. “Georgia, you are here. Come in.”
Georgia mustered a smile, quickly hiding her disgust for the judge before entering the room. “Judge Wilson, thank you for having me.”
Wilson waved his hands in dismissal. “Call me Wil.” He said, sitting opposite Georgia in the expensive hotel suite. “You’ve come to discuss the Best Actress Award?”
“Yes,” Georgia said, sitting straight confidently in her chair. She brought out a cheque she had prepared previously and slid it towards him, “That’s a substantial amount of money, and it’s all yours if you give me your vote.”
Wilson picked up the check and gazed at it unimpressed. He put it down and sighed. “It is a sizable sum but it’s not enough. to win. If you really want the award, you would need to triple this amount. There are three judges I need to convince to let you win.”
Georgia swallowed slowly. The amount she wrote on the cheque was everything she had left in her account. She hadn’t had time for acting lately since she was busy running errands for Caster.
The only good role she got this year was for Daunting Lullaby and even the payment she received had been used up already on dresses and accessories.
She was low on money.
Still, she couldn’t leave without Wilson’s help. He was the most greedy, making him the most accessible. She would do

anything to win that award.
Removing her gold necklace she handed to him “That’s two milion. Take that and Ell give you the rest after I win”
Wikon shook his head before sliding everything back to her “Tafraid that’s not how it is done here,” He said, leaving no room for arguments “You’re the last person I expect to be briske Georgia. If you really want to win, you should know what it

Desperately, Georgia grabbed his hand. “Isn’t there anything else I can do? I need to get that award.” Her voice was laced with
Wilson’s gaze skimmed down her body, tracing all the curves. He licked his lips slowly, his gaze filled with desire.
“Well there is something you can do” He said before grabbing her hand in a suggestive manner.
Georgia’s face screwed into that of disgust and she pushed him away. “Do you know who I am? How dare you make a move
on me?”
Wilson’s face contorted into that of anger after he had been insulted. “Who do you think you are? You are nothing but a small actress, am entertainer.” He spat. “If you think you’re so big, why don’t you win the award with your skills then? Look, this is the only way you can get the award without the money. It’s left to you if you want it or not.”
Georgia wanted to leave but hesitated. If she got the award, not only would she successfully take Felicity down, she would also have many movie directors scouting for her.
Was her dignity more important than a golden opportunity like this? After all nothing came free in life. Sleeping with the sleazy old man would be a small price to pay for stardom.
Biting her lips, Georgia turned around slowly, and took off her shades and mask. Bowing her head, she started to undress. If this is the price she had to pay, she would.
Wilson smirked. “Good choice.” He said, before drawing her to the bed.
A few moments later the sound of Georgia’s soft moan and Wilson’s grunts could be heard from the room.
They were both so engrossed they had failed to notice the beeping camera hiding behind the potted plant.
