Chapter 137
It was almost midnight when Noah trudged inside the estate, cradling three large teddy bears in his arms.
He entered the room, his gaze falling on Felicity, her face softly fluminated by the light of her phone.
“You’re still awake,” Noah stated, turning on the lights. “I’m sorry for what happened earlier. Axel didn’t have a right to say what he said.”

Felicity’s eyes skimmed through his bruised face. “It’s alright but what on earth happened to you? You look like you got run over by a cow.”
“Two cows actually, Ian and Axel.” He replied, letting a sinirk crack through his bruised face.
Felicity sat up and asked, surprised, “You guys fought?”
“We just let out some steam. It wasn’t because of you though. We’ve been a little pressured lately and needed a release.” Noah
told her.

He then presented her with the teddy bears. “These are from each of us. An apology for the way the day ended.”
Felicity’s gaze shifted from concern to amusement as she received the stuffed animals. “You guys went?”
“Yeah, we won a lot of toys and gave them out to kids. We also entered rides. Ian screamed his lungs out most of the time.” Noah ratted his friend out. “Don’t tell him I said this, but it was pretty hilarious. The dude lost his voice for a solid five minutes after one of the rides.”
“And you didn’t?” Felicity asked, raising a brow
“Of course not. What do you think of me?” Noah denied, knowing fully well he did flinch a few times. He then pulled Felicity into a tight hug, inhaling her scent deeply. “Thank you. We needed this.” He murmured.
“Really? You’re welcome.” Felicity finally cracked up a smile. She was happy her efforts didn’t go in vain.
“Today was awesome. I had a great time. I don’t know how I can repay you.”
“No, you don’t have to repay me. I did this because I wanted to repay you for everything you’ve done for me You more than deserved this.” Felicity reassured him.

dad.
Noah nodded before going to take a bath, the warm water soothed his aching muscles and refreshed him. When he came back out, Felicity had neatly placed the bears near the window, adding a weird and playful aesthetic to the room.
They climbed into the bed and lay next to each other, staring at the ceiling in a comfortable silence. The alarm rang indicating it was now midnight. A new day had started.
“That car intended to run you over.” Noah’s voice broke through the silence, his words heavily hovering in the air.
“I know,” Felicity responded with a heavy sigh. “Charles is acting good on his threat.”
“How do you know it was him?” Noah asked.
A mischievous smile tugged at Felicity’s lips. “Well, you’re not the only one who has people in this city.”
She had managed to gather a small group of people, a loyal network of informants; Xander, her company’s representative who was deeply invested with the Walkers company affairs, Mariam whose son was now recuperating nicely in another hospital, and the staff of the Orion mansion, loyal to a fault.
“And before you ask me what I’m going to do about it,” Felicity added, the smirk on her face deepening. “Next week, there is

going to be a big accident at the heart of the city. Two people are going to wind up gravely injured.”

As much as Felicity wanted to watch Charles and Delilah suffer, they were enemies that were difficult to keep alive for too long for they might end up outsmarting you. What they deserved was a swift demise and she was going to deliver it to them.
“Sure, I’ll watch from the sidelines then,” Noah said, looking at the ceiling. He finally averted his gaze and glanced at Felicity. “Were you close with other families growing up?”
Felicity kneaded her brow at the unexpected question but answered anyway. “Not really. I kept to myself most of the time until I entered the entertainment industry when I was nine.”
“Were you close to any child actors your age?” Noah asked again
Felicity shrugged. “A few, but nothing really strong. We all went our separate ways, I guess.” She answered. “Why are you asking?”
“Just curious,” Noah responded.
In reality, Noah was trying to track her relationship with Kagen. Maybe there was something he missed in his investigation, How could both of them have met Kagen but had no recollection of it? It was simply impossible.
Except K lied. But Noah didn’t believe K was lying, more like he was hiding the truth, trying to play them. Felicity was a popular child actor, loved by millions. Was it possible that K was one of those millions, a fan who’d crossed the line from admiration to something more sinister?
But one thing was certain, now that K had openly declared war on them, things would become more dangerous, especially for Felicity who was still oblivious to the truth.
Noah needed to prepare for the absolute worst in the next few months because he had a feeling things would be nasty.
The next couple of days went without a hitch. Both Noah and Felicity returned to their busy schedules and normal routines.
Felicity’s hands were healed now, so she didn’t need Noah’s assistance anymore and could drive herself to work, though she missed their morning and evening rides together.
Felicity not only got busy with company work, but she also had an accident to stage. Charles had tried to kill her in public, but she had managed to escape thanks to Noah. She knew, if she gave him even the slightest opening, he’d strike again and this time, she might not escape.
Time was of the essence. She had to strike first, harder, and without a trace of connection back to her. Her mind whirled with possibilities.
“A hit and run won’t do.” She murmured to herself, deep in thought.
“What?” Beatrice’s voice snapped Felicity from her reverie. Beatrice frowned at her. “Have you been paying attention?”
Felicity blinked, trying to appear attentive. “Sorry, my bad,” Felicity apologised, sitting up in her chair. She glanced at Beatrice who held a report in her hands. “Would you ever hire a hit-and-run for someone you hated?”
Beatrice was utterly unruffled by Felicity’s question, already used to her new boss’s abrupt behaviour. “A hit and run leaves evidence. I would blow up a gas tank,” she said with a shrug.
Felicity’s eyes widened at her suggestion and she couldn’t help but chuckle, “You’re too cruel. A gas tank is too much, don’t you think?” She said, trying to cook up another plan.
Her phone buzzed with a weather notification. As she glanced at the screen, her expression shifted. Suddenly, her eyes widened slightly when she got the perfect plan. She mused aloud, “That might work.”

“Miss Orion, I have to fish this report,” Beatrice told her blankly.
Suppressing her joy, Felicity turned to her and beckoned her to continue, focusing on the report this time.

As Beatrice finished, Felicity quickly arranged the necessary precautions. “Clear my schedule for Wednesday,” she instructed Beatrice. And with a swift dial, her father answered, “Daddy, how about you, Georgia, and I do some shopping together?” The sugary sweet tone in her voice was almost cloying.
