Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 136

Chapter 136
Felicity gazed at the crumbled ticket in her hand, perplexed. She hadn’t realised that suggesting something so seemingly innocent as a walk in the park would cause such a violent reaction in Axel.
“1-I’m sorry. I didn’t she began, her voice faltering.
“You didn’t think ” Axel’s words were a harsh slap in the face, delivered with barely contained rage.
“What the hell is wrong with you!!” Noaly’s voice rose, his chest Heaving in anger. “You don’t talk to my wife that way!” His fists tightened, a clear sign that he was moments away from purjimeling Axel to the floor.
Jan stepped in, trying to defuse the situation. “Chill, dude. She was trying to do

Noah’s voice dropped to a low, dangerous rumble. “Don’t push ine, Axel. You don’t want to make me punch you.”
Felicity interjected, her voice quivering slightly. “It’s alright, both of you. Please don’t fight because of me. Axel is right. I should’ve thought it through. We don’t need to go. Let’s just head home.” She handed her ticket to lan before walking away.
“I wanted to go though.” Ian whispered, glancing at the two tickets in his hand.
Noah threw a glare at Axel before running after Felicity. “Hey, you didn’t do anything. It was a sweet gesture and I loved it. They don’t have to come. We can go in together.”
“Axel is right, it’s not safe.” Felicity insisted and continued walking to the car.
“It’s never safe!” Noah exclaimed, causing Felicity to stop in her tracks. “For someone like me, it’s never safe. But I can’t miss out on life because I’m afraid. Fear didn’t take me this far.”
Felicity told him without looking back. “Let’s just go home,” she said, leaving Noah frozen in his tracks.
Noah cussed under his breath. The day had been going so well, only for Axel to swoop in and shatter it all. If looks could kill, he’d be dead ten times over. Felicity might’ve been the one who had been publicly rebuked, but Noah was hurt by this too.
Felicity continued to walk towards her car she parked across the road. Axel’s words had made her feel more bad than she had expected. Considering the shit they had all passed through for a while, she just wanted to take everybody’s mind off things even if it was for a day.
She was trying to be nice, for once, and this was what she got. What was wrong with Axel anyway? He was supposed to be her friend now, and instead, he just made her feel like crap. Maybe she should go back to her villain era and f**k them all.
While crossing the road, Felicity was not paying attention so she did not notice the car speeding towards her.
Suddenly, she heard Noah’s shout: “Felicity!”
She lifted her head, her eyes widening in horror as a black Audi came racing towards her. There was no escape. She stood, frozen, in her spot too shocked to move.
Goosebumps rose on her skin and cold shivers ran up her spine. Her heart rate increased as the car’s headlights blinded her. Just when she thought it was the end, she was yanked back. As the car brushed past her by an inch, she could feel the gust of wind that followed it.
“Love, are you alright?” Noah asked, anxiously, in concern. He cupped her cheeks, his eyes skimming her body for any signs of injury.
But Felicity stood rooted, her eyes locked on the car as it disappeared into the night without even hitting the brakes. The

feeling of wind brushing past her as the car w***ed by made it clear that driver had aimed right at her. She’d almost been a victim of a hit-and-run.
Axel and lan, who had watched the scene unfold from a distance rushed to them in worry, they only calmed down when they noticed she wasn’t hurt.
“What the hell was that?” Ian cursed, his gaze lingering on the spot where the car had disappeared.
“Felicity?” Noah called out to get her attention, his voice urgent. Are you okay?”
Felicity finally met his gaze and gave him a shaky smile. “I m fine, I wasn’t looking when I crossed. I’ll go home now.” She said and ran off before anyone could stop her Before Noah could get to her, she was already driving off. He could only watch as she went, stressed.
Jan’s gaze hardened, his eyes narrowing as he turned to Axel. “1is,” he spat out, his voice, “is all your f***g fault.”
“I didn’t do anything. If anything, this just proves my point about how dangerous it is to wander out alone.” Axel answered, equally p***ed.
Ian’s jaw clenched. “Why are you such an **le? What’s your deal with her?”
“I told you, didn’t I? I said from the very beginning that Felicity was trouble,” Axel snapped, turning to Noah. “But no, you didn’t listen. You married her without even informing me about it.”
“Is this what this is about? Because I didn’t tell you?” Noah arched a brow.
You both manage to exclude me from every decision you make!” Axel answered.
“Dude, we were trying to clean your mess. She almost died because of you. You dragged her into this.” Ian retorted.
Axel’s eyes narrowed into slits. You know what? I used to think so too but now, it appears she’s the one who dragged us into her mess. Her beef with the Walkers and K’s obsession with her. They could be working together to lure us to our deaths.” Axel countered. But just as he finished, Noah turned and punched him in the face.
Axel stumbled back, wiping the blood from his busted lips, his eyes blazing with anger as he glared at Noah. He snickered. “Go to hell,” He said, returning the blow to Noah, sending him staggering backward. “You don’t know what it’s like, risking my life every day fighting K’s men while you sit in your cosy office. I do that every f**ng day to keep our family safe. How dare you threaten to destroy that?”
“You know that’s not true. It’s not my fault you chose to go after K, I never forced you to.” Noah retorted, spitting out blood.
“You may not have forced me, but you expect me to just sit back and let K get away with this? I’ve given everything, sacrificed everything, and she’s going to ruin it all!” Axel exclaimed.
“Stop bringing this back to Felicity. We both know she isn’t the problem. If you have something to say to me, just say it!” Noah roared. His expression was pure rage, his fists balled up as he glared at his cousin.
Axel parted his lips but closed them back, bottling what was on his mind.
Ian stepped forward, his hands raised, trying to settle both of them. “Pointing fingers won’t do any good. You both need to calm-”
Before he could finish, Axel’s fists landed on his cheek in a vicious blow, sending him reeling backward to the ground. He gazed at Axel’s shock.
“You bastards!” Ian shouted, scrambling to his feet. He landed a kick to Axel’s guy, doubling him over.
“Ian, that’s enough-” Noah tried to stop Ian from pouncing on Axel but he got hit in the face instead.ˆ

Exhausted, bruised, and bloody, they finally collapsed to the ground in a panting mess. They sat beside each other on the floor and gazed into the sky.
tan was the first to break the silence. “I still have two tickets. I’m going to win myself a bear.” He said, standing up and dusting himself. He took off his blazer and wiped his face with a handkerchief before walking to the entrance of the park.
Noah sighed, glancing at Axel. “I’m sorry for keeping things from you. I didn’t realise how hurt you were,” He whispered. “My marriage doesn’t change the fact that we are brothers and we’ll always be.”
“Like I care.” Axel turned his face to the side like a sulking child
Noah laughed softly, before standing up and cleaning himself too. He stretched out his hand to Axel. “Let’s go.”
Axel gazed at his hands for a moment before taking it without a word. They caught up with Ian and the three of them entered the park together.
