Chapter 130
Later that day, Felicity received a text from her father about their dinner that he had reserved that night. That freaking night! He informed them only two hours before the scheduled time.
“What does he think of us? Does he think we don’t have jobs to do?” Felicity grumbled as she searched her wardrobe for something decent to wear.
“We technically didn’t have anything doing today,” Noah replied from the bed, causing Felicity to pause and scowl at him. He chuckled, turning back to his laptop in his Chanel three-piece suit looking incredibly good-looking.
It was unfair how men could do the bare minimum and still look so d**n attractive, Felicity thought. The navy suit fit him like a glove, highlighting his muscles. His hair was swept to the side, leaving his gorgeous face on full display. And his lips, his lips were…
“What in God’s name is wrong with me?!” Felicity m**lly berated herself at her wandering thoughts, her hands covering her forehead in shame as her cheeks heated.
“Did you say something?” Noah lifted his head from his laptop.
“No.” Felicity hastily replied and Noah turned back to his work.
After much debate, Felicity selected a sleek, blue off-the-shoulder bodycon dress with a sash accentuating her waist. She let her hair hang loose, finishing off the look with a subtle touch of makeup. It was just dinner so she wanted to keep it simple. Once she and Noah arrived at the restaurant, the waiter ushered them into a private room where Connor was waiting.
“Good evening, Dad.”
“Good day, Mr. Orion.”
Felicity and Noah greeted, respectively before taking their seats on the table.
“Noah, you can drop the formalities. Call me dad too,” Connor told him. “We are families now.”
“Yes, Dad, Noah answered.
Connor nodded in satisfaction before motioning for the waiters to bring in the food. Moments later, their table was filled with many dishes and they didn’t waste time digging in.
The atmosphere was a little awkward as Connor kept stealing glances at Noah while he ate, making Noah uncomfortable. If it was someone else, Noah would have probably told them off but this was his father-in-law.
“Is something wrong, Mist-Dad? You’ve been staring.” Noah finally asked, tired of the not-so-subtle looks he was receiving.
Felicity gazed at both of them curiously in confusion. She had not noticed the exchange as she was invested in her food. After hearing Noah’s accusation, she gave her father a knowing look. He should apologise already if it was eating him up so badly.
Connor cleared his throat, setting his spoon aside with a clatter. His gaze finally met Noah’s as he swallowed his pride and spoke, “I’m sorry for the harsh way I spoke to you at the hospital considering you were trying to warn me about the snake under my roof.
Noah smiled. “It’s not a big deal, I understand. You don’t have to apologise next time.
Connor nodded before focusing on his food, his shoulders visibly more relaxed than before. The dinner continued smoothly until they were done, and eating dessert.

Chapter 130.
Just as they were slipping into a pleasant silence, Connor’s voice cut through the silence. “How was the Princeton’s gala?
“It was fine.” Felicity replied. “I managed to secure some potential investors for the company.
Confor nodded in approval. “That’s great.” His gaze then flickered with interest. “I heard many spectacular items were sold at the auction. Georgia showed me a few things she bought.”
“Yeah, a lot of things were auctioned off,” Felicity confirmed.
“Did you bid for anything? I heard something about a painting. Connor pressed, his tone seemingly casual but his eyes gave away his ravenous curiosity,
Narrowing her eyes, Felicity crossed her arms. “What do you want. Dad?” she asked.
Connor sighed heavily, sitting up. Planting his arms firmly on the table, he said, “You bought a hundred million dollar painting but you never brought it to the mansion. Do you know how many of my friends called this morning asking for a photo? Thirteen.”
Felicity shook her head firmly. “Dad, it’s my painting. I’m not giving it to you if that’s what you’re getting at.”
“But everyone thinks it’s at the mansion.” Connor persisted. “Henry is coming over a day from tomorrow to take a look!” “Well you should have told him you didn’t have it. Felicity retorted.
I can’t tell him that. I’ll lose face Okay, just let me borrow it for a few days.”
Felicity stood firm, her lips thinning into a determined line. “NO”
Connor turned to Noah, a silent plea in his gaze, but Noah averted his eyes in guilt. There was no way he could convince. Felicity to lend the painting
“What if I ask Jason to paint another one exclusively for you?” Noah suggested.
Connor’s eyebrows shot up in surprise, “You know Jason A. Oli?
“Yes, I do. He’s my father’s friend. He would do it if I asked.” Noah said.
Connor clapped his hands in joy. “That’s perfect! Tell him to paint three.” He exclaimed, shamelessly.
“Dad!” Felicity was immediately embarrassed by her father’s behaviour. She gave her dad an incredulous look. “You can’t exploit him like that!” she protested.
“It’s fine, Felicity” Noah reassured her with a smile.
“See!” Connor pointed to Noah, triumphant. “He doesn’t mind. You should be more like him. He’s my new favourite.”
Felicity’s jaw nearly dropped to the floor, her eyes going wide in disbelief. Noah, meanwhile, was laughing so hard.
“I’ll ask Jason for five paintings. You shouldn’t lose face in front of your friends.” Noah added in between chuckles, offering Felicity a comforting hand.
It was as if Connor had just won the lottery. His smile was that of a child who’d just got his way. He and Noah shared a high- five across the table, ignoring Felicity’s glare.
Felicity glanced at them before rolling her eyes. She had saved this man and he dumped her for her husband in return. Wasn’t life cruel!
“Well, if he gets five, I want five too.” Felicity insisted with a playful tone.

Chapter 130
“Anything for you, babe, Noah smirked, Jason was about to be very busy. The guy would have to deliver ten exclusive paintings for free and lose millions in the process. Worth it, Noah thought.
The atmosphere remained lighthearted for a while until Connor dropped a bomb that caused Felicity to narrow her eyes and Noah’s grip to tighten around his spoon.
*I went golfing this morning, and I ran into Charles. He said something about a cargo that sank in the ocean. That b**rd threatened our life. He said he was going to run me over with his car.” Connor spat in anger.
Felicity’s gaze sharpened. “He said what?!”
