Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 129

Chapter 129
100%
Felicity couldn’t bring herself to go to work the next morning, knowing the amount of paparazzi that would be waiting for her. She informed Beatrice to handle the day’s affairs and also gave Joel a call to finalise their business.
Today was hectic for a normal Tuesday morning. She scrolled through her newsfeeds, a grimace twisting her lips at the juicy gossip making the headlines. Two conglomerate heirs were caught in a compromising situation in the bathroom, Victor Harrington-the obese man she met at the gala-was bitten up for groping another CEO’s wife, and another power couple had a nasty breakup after the wife caught her husband with a woman young enough to be his daughter.
Apart from those, other small news went around like Caster’s and Felicity’s bidding war or the heartwarming picture of Felicity fixing Georgia’s hair’ that was taken without their notice.
The major news, however, that was taking the country by storm was none other than Felicity’s jaw-dropping $100 million painting, and her dazzling display in that one-of-a-kind Vicky James dress.
Safe to say, she was the talk of the century, her name splashed across the headlines of every gossip site and tabloid. Rumours like ‘Felicity Orion is made of money, ‘Secret life of Felicity Orion, “Felicity reveals she has a sugar daddy, were spreading
fast on the internet.
There werealso a few articles about her suspected love bites, but they all disappeared without a trace.
The question on everyone’s lips was, how on earth could a twenty-five-year-old woman ama** such a mind-blowing amount of wealth? And afford to spend it all in one night? $100 million was more than pocket change.
The doorbell interrupted Felicity’s search through her phone. She had been reading through the articles with a satisfied smirk. Felicity put her phone down to answer, only to find the movers waiting on the other side with her newly acquired painting.
“Keep it right there. Thank you,” she said, signing the delivery papers before the movers left with their job done.
Noah had just emerged from the bathroom in a bathrobe and came down to see Felicity admiring her prized possession.
“It has arrived,” Noah remarked, standing next to her, his eyes also taking in the stunning masterpiece-not that he would
admit it out loud.
“Yes, it has Felicity answered, “Come help me put it up.” she beckoned to him.
Noah approached the painting, reaching to pick it up. However, his fingers slipped and the painting almost fell to the ground, but he quickly caught it before it could hit the floor.
“Careful!” Felicity exclaimed in terror, springing to her precious work of art, inspecting it for any damage. When she found none, she turned and glared at Noah, “If anything happens to this painting, you’re done. I don’t want to see a tear or a smudge, else.” She warned, running a threatening finger across her throat.
Noah swallowed hard. “It was an accident.” He mumbled, then asked, “Where do you want me to put it?”
Felicity pointed towards the dining wall. She wanted to have her meals while watching the beautiful painting. Noah found her choice odd but didn’t question her and wordlessly hung it carefully where she instructed.
As she admired her painting, the doorbell rang again. Noah rolled his eyes at her before going to answer the door, revealing
fari.
“Hey, lan greeted, stepping inside. He waved enthusiastically at Felicity, “Good morning. Sister-in-law. You are all over the
news today
“It’s all thanks to your sister,” Felicity laughed. “That dress was simply marvellous and the necklace she sent along with it, I couldn’t help showing it off at some point.”

Ian gave her a bright grin. I let her know she made a splash.”
“So, what brings you here this fine moming?” Felicity inquired.
“I have some business matters to discuss with Noah,” lan answered.
As he finished, Noah began dragging him upstairs to have their conversation but Felicity intervened.

“Where are you taking him to? You can discuss it here. I want to listen to your business strategies.” She asked, stepping between the two men with eager curiosity.
lan laughed. “It’s boring. You don’t want to hear about this one,”
“I do want to hear it or are you guys trying to hide something from me?” Felicity crossed her arms. She knew it wasn’t her place to pry since she had also refused to fully open up to Noah but she had a feeling they wanted to discuss last night’s incident or Kagen, and in both cases, she had every right to know.
Shifting uncomfortably under her scrutiny, lan answered, “We’re not hiding anything” He said, glancing at Noah. “Well, the thing is Noah proposed a meeting with an investor. I wanted to tell him that the investor sent an old friend of ours, Felix, to deliver his reply. The reply was written all over Felix’s cold face, lan added with a nervous laugh.
A sharp look flashed through Noah’s eyes, which he quickly concealed before Felicity would notice.
“Really? What did the investor say?” Felicity inquired, oblivious to the true meaning behind their words.
“He agreed to meet with us on Friday, so I came to plan with Noah.” lan finished.
Felicity nodded, not suspecting anything amiss with his explanation. She faked a yawn before turning to Noah, “Can you get me a glass of juice: I feel so tired suddenly.”
Noah’s brow furrowed in worry, “Are you alright?”
I’m fine. I just want to drink something.” Felicity insisted.
Noah nodded and left for the kitchen.
As soon as Noah was out of earshot, Felicity dragged lan outside.
“Listen, I want to take Noah on a surprise date on Friday and I need your help, she said.
Ian’s face lit up. “Aw, that’s sweet. What can I do for you?”
Felicity smiled, her eyes gleaming with excitement. “I want to take him to a park. I thought it’d be nice to do something he doesn’t experience often. What do you think?”
“I think it’s great. He would love it.”
“Okay, I have a series of things planned. But I need him to be free by 5:00 p.m.”
lan’s expression fell. “Uhn, 5:00 pm. won’t work.” That was the time scheduled for Noah and K to meet and that meeting was more important than any date.
Felicity replied, her voice firm, “That’s why I need you to clear his schedule.”
“I can’t clear that particular meeting. It’s too important.” lan answered with a nervous grin. If it was up to him, the date would be rescheduled to a whole other day as that day was simply too dangerous. But gazing at Felicity’s face, he knew that wasn’t going to happen. “How about 7:00 p.m.?” He proposed.
Felicity sighed before nodding, “Fine, I guess that will have to do

Ian flashed her a genuine smile, “I’m so happy for you,” Then, lowering his voice, he added with a teasing smirk, “And you might want to cover up those love bites. I already covered up the news for you, so don’t possess a bachelor like me.”
Felicity’s eyes nearly popped out of her head. She spun on her heel and fled inside, colliding with Noah who was holding a glass of freshly squeezed juice.
“Wait up. I got your glass of Noah trailed off when Felicity zoomed past him. He threw a questioning look at lan who simply shrugged in reply.
