Chapter 128
Somewhere in the city, a man arrived in front of a mansion. He limped out of the vehicle, his boots crunching over gravel as he closed the door, sealing in the macabre sight of the real driver’s lifeless body in the backseat
Felix grinned as he stared at the magnificent gate before him and took a deep breath, relishing the sea breeze. The gentle sound of water crashing into rocks could be heard a few distance away.
He smirked, his eyes dark with malicious intent as he raised his fist to pound on the gate. “Open up, you sons of b**es!”
In an instant, Felix heard the sounds of multiple guns pointing at him. He raised his hands in surrender as two men approached the gate with guns trailed on him.
“Who the f**k are you?” Demanded one armed man.
“Im Felix. I was with the troop that ambushed Noah Elsworth tonight.” Felix explained.
The two men shared a sceptical glance before asking again. “Where is the rest of the troop
“Dead That b**d burned them all.”
“And left you alive? Or did you run away and leave your comrades to die?” One asked, agitated.
Felix shook his head frantically, Tm not a coward. I would never leave my comrades alone. Noah sent me to deliver a message to K, that’s why he let me live.”
“You could be one of his men,” the armed men sneered, unconvinced.
“I’m not,” Felix insisted, fear creeping into his voice.
“How do we know his people aren’t right behind you?”
“Do you think I’m st**d? I made sure to shake off anyone who might have followed me off my trail. Look, just let me in. I’m one of you.” Felix begged.
“I don’t think so.” The man with the gun snarled, c**g his gun at Felix. Felix’s eyes widened in fear, accepting his fate as he braced for the bullet. But the shot never came, instead a warm, confident voice broke the silence.
“You said you had a message for me. Come in.”
Filled with joy, Felix opened his eyes to see K holding the barrel of the other man’s gun. The gates buzzed open and he walked into the mansion to his saviour.
“E. It’s really you. Thank you very much for letting me in!” Felix exclaimed, his eyes filled with glee. If his leg wasn’t broken, he would have probably kneeled on the floor in gratitude.
“Of course, let’s go inside.” K’s voice was smooth, almost hypnotic as he beckoned for him to follow.
Felix walked behind K down the windy pathway to the mansion, their path illuminated by landscape lights. Felix gazed at K’s back in awe as he had only ever seen him from afar when he gave instructions. He felt like a peasant before K up close. This
the man who had saved him after all, he gave him a purpose, Along with every other man under him.
He was even more glad because K was in his true form and not playing the role of a fake identity like he always was. No dyed hair, no coloured contacts, and no fake tans. He was a master of disguise and it was one of the reasons he was so slippery.
Instead tonight. K’s blood hair swayed gently as the breeze caressed them. His electric blue eyes were filled with life and he had a smile on his face that could make any man or woman drop in awe.

At least all the other women had dropped in awe, except one woman-Felicity Orion or rather Felicity Elsworth. K travelled. all the way to City Z to give her a bottle of wine he made especially for her but the next day, they found it in the bin.
Kalso went to her house to see her in his true form but that woman hid from him in the cupboard when she got home. She didn’t even have the decency to behold the beautiful face of K.
Recalling all those events left a bitter taste in Felix’s mouth. What an ungrateful woman. Even marrying the enemy when K had waited for her for so long. She was truly not worth it.
“Felix, you said you have something to tell me.” K’s voice drew Felix out of his thoughts. They had gotten to the living room now and K was sitting on his sofa.
Felix gazed round the room in awe. It was the first time he had entered the mansion as only the higher-ups were allowed fo
enter K’s home.
The whole room was white as snow. The floors, walls, sofa, everything was white and inexplicably beautiful. In the middle, K looked like a God and fitted right into the scenery.
Felix immediately became self-conscious remembering how bl**dy and grimy he was. He was afraid to
lain anything.
“You can sit. I don’t mind. You’ve gone through a great deal today because of me. The least I could do is offer you a seat.” K offered, pointing at the spotless couch.
Felix flayed his arms in panic, “No, I can stand.”

“Sit K instructed, the command, though sweet, carried an icy undertone that Felix couldn’t ignore. Reluctantly, Felix sat on the soft sofa and sighed in relief. It was warm. K handed him a glass of water, the clear liquid glistening beneath the soft glow of the light. “Drink some water.”
Felix watched as K stretched out a glass cup to him and he quickly took it with gratitude. He downed the cup with a smile, the ice-cold water soothed Felix’s parched throat. He was struck by how much K cared for him, a nobody. This was the reason why everyone admired K. He was so good. Felix could be the Elsworths weren’t half as good to their men as K was to
them.
After drinking, Felix dropped the cup and started, his voice low and grave, “Today’s ambush backfired. Noah must’ve known about our attack or at least suspected it because he was ready for us.”
“Did you guys follow my instructions?”
Felix nodded. “Yes, we waited for him to drop his wife. Then as He came to check on the families in the neighbourhoods, we attacked him on a dirt road where no one would hear,”
“Then what happened?” K asked, his voice low and steady.
“He and his brothers killed all of our men. No one managed to get a scratch on them because they all died in seconds. He burnt their bodies and even tried to burn me as well but he let me go and asked me to deliver a message to you.”
“Go on.” K beckoned, gazing at him with rapt attention.
Felix nodded, “He said and I quote, “Tell K to meet me at Riverside restaurant, roop 5 on Friday by 5:00 pm. It’s time he stopped hiding and faced me like a man.” Felix recounted Noah’s words, his voice laced with a nervous chuckle. “That’s what he said but I told him he was s**id for thinking you would walk into an obvious trap
“You did good, Felix, for coming here.” K praised, a chilling smile twitching at the corners of his lips. The warmth in his eyes had long since vanished, leaving only a menacing glint. “But you don’t tell me what to do,”
“I’m not telling you what to do,” Felix stuttered in panic. “I just don’t want you to get hurt that’s all…”
Felix paused when he felt a sharp pain shoot through his chest. He clutched his heart as he coughed up blood, staining the

“You can rest now.” K’s voice came as he turned his back, leaving behind a hazy-looking Felix who gazed at him in disbelief.
Felix cast a last resentful look at the glass he was offered by his saviour, the act of kindness a mere facade to lure him to his demise. His face contorted in pain and horror, and with a final gasp, he succumbed to the poison in his veins, choking to death on his own blood.
K walked up the stairs, his footsteps the only sound in the house. His bedroom was also white like the rest of the house, but it had a strange touch to it-a creepy one. The pristine white walls were adorned with portraits and pictures of one woman at different events of her life-Felicity Orion
It was a beautiful shrine dedicated to her. K sighed as he approached one of the pictures. It was one of a younger Felicity át her sweet sixteen, smiling at the camera.
“Why did you have to get involved in this fight? Why did you have to marry that b**rd of all people?” Kagen said, filled with sadness as he gazed at her picture, “Why didn’t you wait for me”
his eyes
K drudged over to a mirror and studied his reflection solemnly, a visage that would have left Felicity shaking in shock if she had seen it because his face was one she knew all too well, or rather the older version of it. The resemblance would be too much for her to ignore.
K dropped to his bed lazily, staring up at the ceiling, his thoughts turning like the relentless waves that crashed rocks “Friday, 5:00 pm.” he muttered to himself, his lips curling into a ruthless sneer. “I’m no coward. Maybe it’s time to end
upon the this cat-and-mouse chase.” He murmured to himself before glancing out of his window, watching as sea wa
