Chapter 127
As the car glided to a stop at their driveway, Felicity got down from the car, exhausted from all the activities of the night. Her feet were a little unsteady from all the glasses of champagne she drank.
Without waiting for Noah to finish parking the car, she went straight to the room to get rid of the hassle of a dress she was wearing
She was about to walk into the bathroom to change when Noah yanked her back. She raised an inquisitive brow at him in
response.
“Have you forgotten? You told me I could ruin your lipstick tonight.” Noah reminded her, his voice low and seductive, his lips curled into a wicked grin.
Felicity’s heart skipped a beat as she felt his hands wrap around her waist, pulling her close to him. The way his eyes skimmed down her face left her breathless and trembling with anticipation.
Her eyes darted from his lips to his eyes, and back again. She’d been this close to other men tonight, but none had made her pulse race or her skin tingle quite like this.
With a mischievous glint in his eyes, Noah pinched the curve of her waist softly, pulling a gasp from her lips.
Felicity’s lips curved into a smile as she wrapped her hand around his neck. This was just the type of distraction she needed after the hell she had.
What are you waiting for then?” She breathed, her voice a whisper.
In an instant, the space between them disappeared, and they were consumed by each other. Felicity sofily groaned in pleasure, her body melting into his as she forgot all her worries. When Noah was around, all of her anger and pain seemed to disappear. She felt invincible like her past didn’t matter. He made her feel safe and free like nothing could touch her. She was intoxicated.
Wanting to get more of this feeling, her hands moved with increasing fervour as she tugged at his hair while her right leg trailed up his. A devilish grin played on her lips as she slipped her hand under his shirt, her fingers dancing around his hard abs giving them a little squeeze. She had to admit, she was a little bold tonight but it was probably the alcohol getting to her.
“Fuck Felicity!” Noah moaned against her lips, their eyes locked at the intensity of the moment. He gave her a warning look but she giggled in response.
Before they knew it, they were already on the bed with Noah on top of Felicity, invested in sucking her neck. One of his hands caressed Felicity’s exposed thigh while the other wound through her hair, his lips leaving a trail of hot kisses on her
tender skin.
Felicity’s back arched at his nip on her collarbone, her gasp of pleasure echoing off the walls. Noah grinned at the reaction, revelling in the power he had over her.
He left a trail of kisses down her chest before arriving at the cusp of her cleavage. The fabric of her dress clung to her body like a second skin, the outline of her breasts teasing his imagination.
His lips hovered tantalisingly close to her delicate skin, his breath mingling with the faint saint of her perfume. He fought against the temptation to pull down her dress and fulfil all his dirty fantasies. He wanted nothing more but to capture her in his mouth but he couldn’t.
Sighing, Noah buried his face in the crook of her neck and took deep breaths to control himself. Perplexed, Felicity asked him breathlessly. “What’s wrong? Why did you stop?”
‘Because I want our first time to be special, Noah wanted to say but resisted the urge. He understood Felicity wasn’t planning on staying with him long term and he was terrified his confession would only hasten her departure.

Noah wanted his first time with Felicity to be born out of love, not lust. He wanted something that would last, not a fleeting moment of passion. He didn’t want them to make such a drastic decision only for her to up and leave the next day. He wanted the whole of her, and he wanted her to know eventually.
–
“This is enough for tonight,” Noah murmured against her neck, the tingles of his breath sending electric currents through her body.
“But.” Felicity’s protests caught in her throat as her head started to clear. She’d been so caught up in the moment, so intoxicated by the heat between them, that she hadn’t even considered the consequences of what would happen if they were to actually cross that line.
What had changed. Felicity wondered. This was a contract marriage, one she had been reluctant to enter and desperate to leave. She’d always been determined to break free from the marriage, and yet, deep down, she knew if Noah had not stopped himself today, she wouldn’t have stopped him either. He was slowly slipping through her defences.
His touch had awakened something in her that she could no longer deny, and it was evident from the throb in her core and the goosebumps on her skin.
She hadn’t even noticed how much she had warmed up to him in the past few months. What did this mean for her!
Shaking away her thoughts, Felicity cried out in frustration, “Get off me, you’re making me confused. Her hands pushed. him away, trying to create distance between them. But she stopped when she felt his shoulders tense under her grip and heard him let out a sharp breath before moving away from her.
“Are you okay?” Felicity asked in concern as she sat up, her eyes searching his face. The heat of the previous moment had been suppressed and only worry could be seen on her face.
“Of course I am,” Noah replied, giving her a reassuring smile, but she didn’t buy it. She had felt him flinch as she pushed.
away.
“Are you injured?” She pressed, reaching for the hem of his shirt intent on examining his body for injuries but Noah stopped her.
“Are you trying to undress me, Miss Orion?” Noah’s attempt at levity fell flat as Felicity’s expression remained steely. He wasn’t getting out of this one. He sighed, letting her do her thing
Gently, she pulled his shirt up, revealing a painful-looking bruise on his shoulder. She let out a soft gasp, her eyes widening,
“What happened?” She whispered, her hand reaching out to gently brush over the injured area.
“Nothing” Noah insisted, his voice strained as he tried to tug his shirt back down to conceal the bruising. He sustained it during the collision with his limousine earlier with K’s men. He had been so careful during the rest of the fight not to get any scratches on him in order not to arouse Felicity’s suspicion.
“This isn’t nothing!” Felicity raised her voice at him, her eyes brimming with tears.
Alarmed, Noah sat up, “Why are you crying?”
“I don’t know!” Felicity’s voice wavered as she shot a glare at him. “Are you going to tell me what happened? This wasn’t here when you dropped me off at the gala.”
“We got into a little accident on our way back to the estate. That all Noah answered carefully, skirting around the truth. Teclmically, colliding with K’s men could be considered an accident-just leaving out the details about the guns, the shooting, and the deaths.
Felicity gazed at him with doubt, feeling that he was holding something back. Road accidents were not uncommon, but for someone like Noah, it was highly suspicious. Did someone try to kill him? She thought and her mind went to Kagen.
“Was it Kagen? Did that p**o do this to you?” Felicity questioned boiling with rage. For some reason, the thought of Kagent

hurting Noah angered her more than Charles’ and Caster’s deception.

“It was a normal accident, Felicity.” Noah answered, his tone light to dispel her worries. He scooted over to her a little and teased. “I’m the one who is injured but you’re the one crying. Don’t worry, I have put ice on it. It doesn’t hurt.”
“Okay, but next time something like this happens, tell me,” Felicity instructed, no longer doubting his words and Noah. nodded in reply. “But have you found Kagen yet? He needs to be arrested for what he did.”
“I will, but he is good at hiding. But I’ll get him soon.” Noah replied, but Felicity would only stop worrying when she knew her life was no longer in danger by a stalker.
She sighed softly, dabbing away her tears with the back of her hand. “I’m going to take a bath,” she murmured, drifting into
the bathroom.
“Can I join…” Noah started but was cut off when Felicity slammed the door. He chuckled and his shoulders relaxed as she left the room.
Now more than ever, he prayed K would be caught soon. Glancing at his bedroom window, he remembered when K had shot it, leaving a dent. One of them could have been injured that night if not for the bulletproof glass. It was unsettling, to know that this man could come and go into his territory conveniently without a trace while he had no idea where the dude
came from.
Moments later, Felicity stepped out of the bathroom wearing a simple nightgown. She entered the covers and whispered to him, “Good night.”
“Good night,” Noah replied and watched her eyes droop close immediately. What a hectic night she must have had, not that his was any better.
Before he succumbed to sleep, Noah turned off the lights and prayed that dear old Felix made it to his dear friend K.
