Chapter 126
Felicity entered the passenger’s seat of the Rolls Royce in a fit of rage, slamming the door behind her as she did.
“Easy” Noah drove off, gazing at her in worry. “Did something happen?”
“A lot of things happened.” Felicity clenched her jaw.
“Which one made you mad?” He asked again.
Felicity sighed into her palms. How would she explain to Noah the cause of her anger? He wouldn’t understand. So she simply replied, still trembling at the memory from her meeting with Charles, “I confronted Charles today. He threatened my dad’s life, Charles knew about my dad’s poisoning. Do you think one of the new staff we hired is a mole?” Felicity asked.
“No, it wasn’t the staff. He bribed a nurse from the hospital your dad was treated in.”
“Curse him” Felicity exclaimed
“So what are you going to do about his threat?” Noah inquired.
“I’ll think of something,” Felicity said, her words slurred by the effects of too many glasses of champagne she had. “My head’s a mess right now.
A yawn escaped her lips as she leaned back in the plush seat, trying to quell the rising tide of rage and anxiety that threatened to drown her. “1, uh, bought a painting today. It was a hundred million, just thought you should know.”
Noah averted his gaze from the road and arched a curious brow at her. “A hundred million for a painting? Is it made from gold or simply too mesmerising?”
A small smile played on Felicity’s lips. “It was an exclusive work by Jason A. Oli. Do you know him? He’s a renowned artist. I just couldn’t resist.”
“Jason A. Oli?” Noah scoffed. “I can get you an exclusive painting from him for free. Renowned artist my foot.”
“Wait what?” Felicity gazed at him in surprise. “You know Jason A. Oli?”
“I guess. Him and my dad were friends so I met him a few times growing up,” Noah shrugged like it was common knowledge.
He shook his head, a hint of disgust in his voice.
“He’s honestly not that great. One time he came over for a visit, he was suddenly struck with inspiration and turned our mansion upside down, demanding the most expensive canvas. We watched him paint, hoping for something cool. And what did he paint? A black tornado with a heart in the middle. After that he lingered for a couple more days before returning to his country and he sold that shit for a million dollars.” He concluded, shaking his head in deep regret. “I wouldn’t have bought that for ten thousand dollars. He scammed the world.”
Noah glanced at Felicity hoping that she shared his sentiment, only to be greeted with a face contorted with rage.
“What? What did I say?” He stammered, bewildered.
Without warning, Felicity lunged at him, seizing a handful of his hair. “How dare your she hissed, yanking his locks so violently that Noah’s grasp on the wheel faltered. The car swerved to the right, its tires screeching in protest.
“Felicity, are you trying to kill us?” Noah yelled in panic, struggling to maintain control of the car as she continued to tug his hair mercilessly.
That painting you just talked shit about is called Conflicted hearts. It represents the internal struggles we face. And God

gave you the privilege to watch that Masterpiece come to life and you insult it? You don’t deserve to live, you a**le!”
“He sold that shit for a million. The canvas and painting equipment weren’t even up to thirty thousand.” Noah tried to defend himself while also trying to focus on the road. At this point, they received angry yells from other cars.
“It’s not the canvas or the paint equipment, it’s his mind that’s expensive!” Felicity shot back, “And quit calling Conflicted heart shit, you piece of shit!
“Okay, okay, I’m sorry. Now let go of my hair before I become bald. Noah pleaded, and Felicity reluctantly let go. He let out a sigh of relief before shooting Felicity a glare, “Since when were you an art fanatic?”
“I’m not but Jason’s work just hits different, Felicity replied. “When my painting arrives tomorrow morning, you better not touch or I’ll slice off your fingers
“Jeez, fine,” Noah huffed in annoyance that a mere painting was loved more than him. After all, he was her husband, yet she didn’t seem to show him a fraction of the same adoration.”
Suddenly, a thought struck him. “Hey, wait, You said they’re delivering it to the estate? You gave them our address?”
“Yeah, what other address was I supposed to give…” Felicity trailed off as realisation dawned on her. Her eyes widened and she pulled her hair in panic. “Shit! I blew my cover.”
“Calm down. They won’t suspect a thing. Anyone can live in Wryfield Estate.” Noah reassured her.
Felicity gazed at him with mild annoyance, “No, not everyone, especially not someone like me who recently took over the family business. Even the governor couldn’t live there.”
“I’ll make sure the Princetons keep it strictly confidential.” Noah stated.
“Thank you,” Felicity said but she had a feeling that it was already too late. At the rate Georgia and the Walkers were snooping around her, they might have found out already. How could she make such a blunder? Now, Noah would be dragged into the mess she created.
“Don’t beat yourself up. Who cares if you live at Wryfield Estate anyway? Now they just know not to mess with you.” Noah said
Felicity sighed, “I didn’t want to cause you more trouble than I already have.”
Noah smiled and reached to pat her head, but she swatted his hands away. He replied, “You think those lowlives could possibly cause me any trouble? I can ruin them with a phone call
“I wish I had that power, Felicity pouted. “Well I can’t stop anything from happening now, Just bear with me. I’ll try my best to protect you.” she said with conviction.
“Sure,” Noah answered, shaking his head with a smile. “Tell me, did you get any useful information tonight?”
Felicity’s eyes brightened a little as she recalled everything she gathered. She turned to Noah and started narrating everything that happened in the gala while Noah paid attention to every word she said.
“…thank you for the information you gave, by the way. You should have seen Delilah’s face when I told her. She ran to report to Charles who later confronted me about it. I do have some questions though that only you might be able to answer.”
“Shoot
“I noticed when both Delilah and Charles were speaking about both their kids, they always referred to Caster by his name with no emotion whatsoever but they call Vivian so endearingly Vivian and Caster also had a kind of strained relationship So I was wondering if perhaps…”
“Caster isn’t their son?” Noah finished the sentence for her. When she nodded, he shook his head, That’s not possible.”

“Caster is definitely their son. Trust me, my family would know if he wasn’t. I’ve seen his birth certificate.” Noah clarified her
doubts.
“But if that’s the case, why are they so cold to hi

wait, you’ve seen his birth certificate?” Felicity asked in disbelief.
Noah nodded. “Yes, it was stated clearly that Delilah and Charles were his birth parents. The hospital confirmed it.”
“Should I be alarmed? That’s stalker-ish behaviour and so much research for a guy you don’t like.”
“I had to find out who I was dealing with,” Noah shrugged nonchalantly. He had done so much intensive research on people that he no longer felt uncomfortable doing it. “But at least now you have the answer to your question.”
Felicity sighed in her seat. Caster couldn’t be adopted because he and Charles shared too much resemblance to not be related. So what was the problem with that family?
Delilah didn’t seem to know about Caster’s illness, and Charles wanted to use her to replace Caster’s failing or**n. It was a secret none of them wanted to be exposed, else it would be detrimental for them both. Caster’s illness couldn’t be what they were holding over him.
Felicity racked her brain. Did he commit a crime while he was young? What was his secret? What were they using to keep him under their control?
