Chapter 13
Felicity woke up with a pang on her head the next day. She checked the time and realised it was late afternoon. She was unable to sleep all night and only fell asleep this morning.
Could you blame her? It was a miracle she slept at all after what she had been through the night before.
She was exhausted from the attempt on her life, the appearance of the men in suits, and the strange proposal.
In anger, she ripped the envelope and threw the ring at the man’s face.
“Tell your boss to go to hell,” she said to the man before slamming her door in their
face.”
Did she overreact? Yes.
Did she regret it? No.
What did you expect her to do? She wasn’t a joke. She didn’t even know the man, and he dared to propose marriage just because he had helped her twice. He did not even have the decency to show his face.
What was the deal with people trying to marry her?
Felicity tried to forget everything. One thing was certain now. She had to find another place to stay, which was a ha**le because she was currently broke.
Standing up from her bed, she went into the kitchen to make a sandwich. While eating, her phone rang, and she picked it up to find a text from someone she did not expect.
[Meet me at Lake restaurant now.]
After two days of hearing nothing from Caster, that was all he said to her. Felicity rolled
eyes. What did she see in him before?

With a frown, she got dressed and drove to the location he texted.
Situated in the centre of the city, Lake Restaurant was a well-known upscale dining establishment. Only the social elites were allowed to eat there.

It was also the place where Caster and Felicity first met.
Two years ago, she went out to eat with Georgia and ran into Caster on their way out. She recognized him as the only son of her father’s arch nemesis, but he pretended not.
to know her.
Felicity was instantly attracted to him. Caster’s good looks and Georgia’s
encouragement did not help the situation. After several months, she developed an obsession and started to follow him around, until he eventually acknowledged her and they started dating.
This time, she was not going to let their little scheme succeed. Where better to end at relationship than where it began?
She arrived at the restaurant and was led to a private room. Caster was standing by the window, holding a wine glass and gazing at the city. Another advantage of Lake
restaurant was its beautiful view of the city.
“You are late, His cold voice welcomed her.
Felicity was overwhelmed with emotions as she gazed at his broad back. Since they first met, Caster had never spoken to her softly even when they started dating. She assumed he was just shy or one of those people who did not show emotion, but she was proven wrong when she caught him making love to Georgia.
He looked at Georgia and defended her in a way that differed from how he had treated her during their ten-year marriage. He had looked at her with so much tenderness.
For the two days she was locked up in that dark basement, she kept wondering. When did it go wrong? What did she ever do for them to resent her so much? What did Georgia have that she didn’t?
She had sacrificed an o**n for this man, disobeyed her father and sent him to an early grave, and gave up her career and reputation. She smiled through all the pain. When he informed her that all of her parents’ money had been lost in a bad investment, she took a menial job the next day,
And not once did he look at her the way he looked at Georgia that day.
She was angry at Georgia but for this man, she felt rage. Caster would experience her wrath in this lifetime. She would destroy everything he ever loved and wipe out the entire Walker family.

This time, she was going to make him pay!
Caster furrowed his brow when a minute passed and Felicity didn’t move from her place at the door. She was staring into space with a blank expression.
It was the first time she hadn’t run to hug him after setting eyes on him.
Caster wasn’t worried about her though. He was confident that Felicit would never leave him. It only took a few words to cheer her up.
What worried him was how he would repair his reputation, which was currently being dragged through the mud.
Georgia informed him late last night that Felicity was in charge of releasing the photos to the press, which surprised him.
Felicity wouldn’t do that to him, or so he thought until he had his men investigate. They discovered that Felicity’s manager, Lilian, had released the photos.
But one thing did not add up. No matter how hard he tried to dissolve the rumours, it proved futile. The pictures of him and Georgia kept springing up, something Felicity wasn’t capable of doing. She didn’t have enough influence or money to achieve it. It seemed someone else was out to get him.
It funny how they were suffering from the same fate they had planned for Felicity.
was If only Georgia hadn’t insisted on making love that night, the situation would have been different.
He still did not know where Felicity had gone that night. Nobody saw her leave the hotel, and surprisingly, there was no video footage of when they brought her in, only when they both left. It felt as if he had imagined taking her to the hotel.
In any case, he planned to ask Felicity to take the fall for them today.
He coughed, breaking Felicity from her daze, Take a seat.”
She took a seat opposite him as the waitress brought in various dishes. The table was filled.
Caster took a bite first from his plate, while Felicity looked at him blankly. “Dig in.” he motioned for her to start.

“I’m not here to share a meal with you, Mr. Walker,” she replied, her voice devoid of any emotion.
Caster raised a brow at her attitude, “Are you angry? I assure you that nothing is going on between
Georgia and I.”
“Those photos suggest otherwise,” replied Felicity. “I don’t have time for this,” she waved at the table filled with food, “Why did you call me here?”
