Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 123

Chapter 123
Felicity realised soon that she was more privileged than she thought.
The rare bottles of wine, exclusive dinners at Ping Tower, tickets to coveted events, custom-tailored business attires, private tours, and dinners prepared by celebrity chefs – these were all things she had either already experienced or could easily acquire
As people started to notice Felicity’s lack of bidding halfway through the auction, she started to feel slightly panicked. She needed to bid something so as to avoid nasty rumours from spreading tomorrow like [Has Orion group grown broke?]. But it wasn’t her fault she had everything they had to offer.
“Sold to number 124 for $3,000,000!” The auctioneer called out once again.
Felicity turned to Georgia, number 124, who looked triumphant as she acquired a custom-made dress from the country’s second-best designer after Vicky James
“Felicity, that dress would totally look good on you. Do you want me to lend it to you?” Georgia threw a look of pure mockery towards Felicity. Felicity responded by casually brushing the fabric of her own custom-made dress, the only one of its kind
Georgia understood what her action meant. Gazing at Felicity’s dress, her mood suddenly turned sour.
“You couldn’t afford half my closet,” Felicity said calmly and confidently.
Georgia retorted, “Well unlike you, I earn my money through honest hard work. I don’t have a sugar daddy to rely on.”
Felicity glanced at Caster, who had obviously heard Georgia’s words. She said, “Funny you should say that when your lover is sitting right next to you. I thought you were official. Don’t tell me you lied?”
For the first time, Caster tore his eyes from the stage and gave Georgia a cold stare. Georgia visibly shrank in her seat under his gaze.
Felicity watched the exchange with amusement and curiosity. From the looks of it, it appeared Caster had no intention of making their relationship official-something that wasn’t supposed to happen. Caster had betrayed Felicity because of Georgia, so why wouldn’t he want them to be together?
And if Felicity wasn’t mistaken, Georgia seemed almost scared of him. What was going on? First, Delilah didn’t seem to get along with Georgia, and now even Caster was acting cold towards her. Were all of Felicity’s assumptions about them wrong? “Shut up!” Georgia snapped at her, ashamed that her lie had been exposed. She hadn’t expected Felicity to bring that up in
front of Caster.
Felicity ignored Georgia’s outburst as she focused on the next item up for auction.
“Next is a one-of-a-kind artwork created just for this auction. It’s a painting by the famous painter, Jason A. Oli. This painting is called Ethereal Dance and it’s so unique that it is the only one present in the world. Isn’t it wonderful, folks? The auctioneer asked, and everyone’s eyes lit up as the beautiful canvas was brought into view, capturing even Felicity’s
attention
The canvas depicted a surreal scene of dancing figures immersed in a beautiful landscape of luminous colours and textures, evoking a sense of awe and wonder. The figures, which appear to be abstract representations of humans, seemed to float, captivated by a mesmerising rhythm of light and movement.
The artist’s skillful use of brushstrokes, blending, and layering created a vibrant, ethereal atmosphere, with glowing hues of blues, purples, and greens swirling and intermingling to produce a dreamlike effect.
Felicity recognized the name of the artist, Jason A. Oll. He was an internationally renowned painter who owned one of the

largest galleries in the world and his works were very much sought after. The fact that the Princetons managed to commission an exclusive work from him just for the event revealed that they wielded far more influence than they let on. Surely, this painting would be the hottest topic by morning, and Felicity was determined to own it.
“Bidding starts from $2,000,000!” He announced and many people’s eyes dimmed. The high starting price made people in the crowd flinch, but for an exclusive work like this, it was to be expected.
many
For the first time that evening, Felicity raised her placard, “$2,000,000.” She called out. All eyes turned to her in surprise. As a new business owner, they were taken aback that she would bid on such an expensive item and not a cheaper one first. But then again, she was an Orion they shouldn’t be too shocked.
“$2,500,000!” Someone else called from the crowd
“$3,000,000!” Came from another guest.
Felicity raised her placard again, “$10,000,000!” She called, causing the room to fall silent for a brief second. From $3,000,000 to $10,000,000? Was she that desperate? Even Georgia looked at her in shock.
$10,000,000! Do I hear $12,000,000″
*$15,000,000!” Delilah raised her placard with a provocative look, making Felicity raise a brow.
“We have $15,000,000! Do I hear $20,000,000?!” The auctioneer’s eyes were brimming with excitement.
“$30,000,000!” Felicity said, determined to win the bid, making Delilah’s face fall Felicity smirked, two can play this game. Unlike the others, she had a limitless card and a husband who wouldn’t mind her spending.
*$35,000,000!” she heard beside her. Felicity gazed at Caster wide eyed as he raised his placard. Why were the Walkers hellbent on challenging her today?
40,000,000
45,000,000!”
“50,000,000!”
55,000,000″
The guests looked between them with excitement. This was an all out bidding war. Who would win?
Felicity gritted her teeth inwardly before raising her placard for the final time and calling an amount she knew Caster wouldn’t be able to give up, “$100,000,000!”
Caster paused along with everyone else in the room. A hundred million was the entirety of some people’s fortunes. Murmurs quickly erupted in the room.
“Will she be able to afford that? I think she just dug her own grave.”
“Squandering money at a young age.”
“Let’s see if she can pay. This may be the end of the Orions.”
With that amount, she could buy out my entire business if she wanted.”
“I think the Walkers intentionally riled her up.”
Felicity remained calm amid the whispers, enjoying the attention. The auctioneer shook his head to wake up from the shock before vigorously slamming his hammer against the podium, “For a hundred million dollars, sold to number 156!”
