Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 122

Chapter 122
Felicity followed the rest of the guests to another room where the auction was taking place. This room had chairs arranged in rows and everyone was handed a placard at the entrance, for the auction.
The auction room had a similar theme to the previous one only that this was well lit and it had a stage where items would be displayed. The money acquired from the auction was to be donated to an orphanage home which the Princetons were affiliated with Cherry’s Foundation. This had been their practice for the past twelve years.
Felicity observed the proceedings with mild interest, her paddle resting on her lap. Although she didn’t particularly care for the auction, she knew she had to purchase an item or two to maintain her image. However, she doubted anything would genuinely pique her interest.
156 was the number written on her paddle. She took her seat and waited for the auction to start. As the auction room filled with the excited murmur of bids, Felicity couldn’t help but notice the peculiar seating arrangement that placed her between Georgia and Caster.
Felicity’s gaze alternated between both of them in confusion. Was this a coincidence? She raised an eyebrow, scanning the room for another available seat, but it seemed she was stuck in this rather awkward position as the auction was about to
start.
Sighing, Felicity leaned back in her chair. Caster was staring straight ahead at the stage, his blue eyes steady and focused. Felicity couldn’t help but inwardly snicker. Look at him behaving like he didn’t have a hand to do with this. Such an actor.
A man climbed onto the stage and addressed the audience with enthusiasm. “Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to our annual charity auction. My name is Tony Smith and I’ll be your auctioneer for tonight. We have some amazing items up for bid this evening, and all proceeds will benefit our cause, Cherry’s Foundation.
Tony paused for a moment, his gaze sweeping across the audience. “Before we get started, please make sure you have your bidder number ready and remember to bid often and bid generously! Now, without further ado, let’s start the auction. Our first item this evening is a stunning diamond necklace. This stunning piece features a 2-carat solitaire diamond set in 18k white gold. It’s truly a showstopper. We’ll start the bidding at $10,000. Do I hear $10,000?”
As the necklace was brought out in a glass case by the handlers, one look at the shimmering beauty, and the room erupted with the buzz of eager bidders, each hoping to claim the exquisite piece.
“$15,000.”
“$20,000.”
“$20,000! Do I hear $30,000?”
“$30,000!”
Shouts resonated from different parts of the room. Felicity twirled her placard in her fingers as she gazed at the scene with boredom.
A voice whispered beside her, “It’s a beautiful necklace. Aren’t you going to place a bid? Or are you too broke to afford it? I can get it for you.”
Felicity turned towards Georgia, her expression revealing a mix of surprise and disbelief. Had Georgia grown st**id or was this some sort of pretence? It was absurd to imply that the CEO of Orion Group could be in any way financially strained. Such a taunt was completely nonsensical.
She answered, her gaze unwavering. “Why would I bid for a 2-carat diamond when I have a 40-carat sitting on my neck?” she said calmly.
Georgia’s eyes widened in disbelief. Her gaze fell to the necklace and earrings Felicity was wearing, and upon closer

inspection, she let out a small gasp and her pupils trembled slightly.

Felicity’s necklace was an exquisite heart-shaped diamond attached to a smaller oval diamond with a simple chain crafted from white gold, delicately h**g it around her neck. At first glance, it might appear simple, but Georgia knew otherwise. That necklace was worth almost $5 million.
Georgia glanced at her own modest silver necklace and shifted uncomfortably in her seat. She couldn’t help but wonder how Felicity had managed to acquire such an expensive piece. Red-faced, she turned to the front and continued watching the bid as if nothing had happened. She had wanted to ridicule Felicity by buying the necklace for her but instead received a slap in the face instead.
Felicity couldn’t help but crack a smile at Georgia’s reaction. She also thought she heard Caster let out a snort beside her. She threw him a quick, curious glance before returning her attention to the auction.
“Sold to number 105 for $100,000!” The auctioneer announced,
$100,000 for that necklace was outrageous, but the buyer, a small businesswoman, had a wide smile on her face as the auctioneer announced her number as the winner. Felicity was certain the woman would come to regret her decision later.
“Next, we have a luxurious private jet. There are only fifty produced globally, and this is one of the last in the country. We’ll start the bid at $5,000,000!”
“$10,000,000!”
“$15,000,000!”
Felicity gazed at the jet that was projected on a screen with disinterest. Just a mere glance, and she knew it was inferior to Noah’s.
What was the point of a cheap jet like this when she had a better one at home? She continued twirling the placard on her finger, resting her chin on her palm, uninterested.
The auction had just started, so many people hadn’t moved to bid yet. Felicity was not worried about not bidding but she found it unusual that Caster hadn’t either. He wasn’t the type to miss a chance to show off. His calmness and indifference also left her slightly unnerved. But as long as he wasn’t disturbing her, Felicity could live with it.
Georgia, on the other hand, was scanning the room uncomfortably, making Felicity wonder why she came to the gala in the first place and why she chose to sit next to her of all people.
Recalling that Georgia approached an old man earlier, Felicity scanned the room to look for the man and found him a few seats in front of them. He looked oddly familiar. Felicity thought for a while before it clicked. Wasn’t that one of the judges from the best actress award?
With realisation, Felicity threw Georgia a knowing look before smirking wickedly. Georgia would make her downfall easier than she had anticipated.
No wonder there seemed to be tension between Caster and Georgia. They hadn’t exchanged a word since they sat down. Felicity cursed them silently for putting her in the middle of their lovers’ spat.
Felicity only hoped she would see something she liked soon, so she could finally get out of there.
