Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 117

Chapter 117
The night of the Princeton’s charity gala had finally arrived, sending a wave of anticipation throughout the town. Especially the press who were waiting for juicy gists.
The event was the talk of the town. The elites were eager to boast about their latest accomplishments and the commoners wanted a glimpse of their extravagant life. Any mistake made tonight could damage someone’s image forever.
In the evening while the moon was starting to peek from the clouds, Felicity stood before her mirror, captivated by her own reflection. Her fingers brushed along the luxurious black fabric clinging to her body, accentuating her fair skin.
It was a s**y black deep V-neck sleeveless mermaid dress with side leg slit that ran all the way to her thigh. Her ensemble was completed with stilettos, a black purse, and an array of sparkling diamond jewellery, creating a breathtaking vision. Her hair was styled in an artfully messing bun, showcasing her elegant neck.
She wasn’t too eye-catching but still stood out.
“I look absolutely gorgeous,” Felicity murmured, a smirk playing at the corners of her mouth as she admired her reflection. The dress, meticulously tailored by Vicky and delivered to her doorstep that very morning.
Felicity went over to the bed and picked up a pair of black gloves that matched her dress and wore them. This was to cover the bandage in her arm. She wanted to look flawless tonight.
Confidently, she strutted downstairs to show off her look to Noah, However, as she reached the bottom of the stairs, he was nowhere to be found.
“Noah?” Felicity called out, scanning the area for any sign of him. Just as she turned, she felt a pair of hands circle around her waist from behind, making her gasp in surprise.
“You look utterly bewitching,” His deep voice murmured into her ear.
Felicity laughed softly, her fingers weaving through his hair as she expressed her gratitude. “Thank you,” She answered before turning to face him, “Are you sure you aren’t coming?”
Noah slowly shook his head in response. “I have urgent business to attend to this evening.”
Intrigued, Felicity tilted her head, her gaze locked on his as she asked, “What sort of business?”
“Dirty business,” He replied, inching closer to her. He licked his lips before gazing down at hers, “Red lipstick looks good on you. It’s enticing.” He whispered, closing the distance between them. Just as their lips were about to meet, Felicity turned her face away, leaving Noah’s kiss to land on her cheek.
“You can’t ruin my masterpiece,” Felicity teased, using her fingertip to gently push Noah’s head away from her face.
A pout formed on Noah’s lips before it morphed into a mischievous smirk. “Fine, I’ll just have to ruin it when you return,” he retorted.
Felicity didn’t respond as she had no objection. Her laughter filled the air as she took a step back. “I have to go. I wouldn’t want to be late and keep the haters waiting.” She said, well aware of the anticipation surrounding her appearance at the gala.
Those who had previously dismissed her were now eager to catch a glimpse of the woman responsible for Orion’s Group’s latest success, while others awaited the slightest misstep, ready to criticise her.
“Okay, let’s go,” Noah agreed, his hand reaching for hers as he led her towards the limousine parked outside. A chauffeur stood waiting for them.
“Wow, you rented a limousine?” Felicity asked, surprised.

Noah chuckled, helping her into the car before settling in beside her. “Rented? It’s mine. It’s been collecting dust in the underground garage for a while now.”
Felicity gaped at him in astonishment. “Is there any car you don’t own?”

“I don’t think so,” Noah responded nonchalantly, a hint of amusement in his voice.
Felicity stared at him in awe before shaking her head. She shouldn’t be surprised, he was capable. Her gaze drifted to the passing scenery, but she could feel Noah’s eyes on her, taking in the exposed skin of her fair neck.
Felicity self-consciously adjusted her dress. “Stop staring at me,” she whispered, trying to make him look away.

“You look delicious in that dress,” Noah murmured. His brows then creased a little, “Vicky should have designed something more modest. What if someone tries to steal you away tonight?”
“I won’t let them.” Felicity reassured him, smiling at his concern.
Noah drew her closer to his chest before burying his face in the crook of her neck, his warm breath sending shivers down her spine as he peppered her collar bone with kisses.
Sensing the lingering tension in her body, he whispered softly in her ear, “You won’t be alone. I have people watching over you.” He said after noticing how tense she was about going to the gala alone. Sadly, he had to take care of things today and couldn’t join her, but he had people who looked after her twenty four seven.
Felicity’s shoulders relaxed at his ‘words. A weight she didn’t know about lifted off her chest. Mr. K’s visit still made her uneasy and knowing that Noah’s trusted people would be close by brought her a sense of relief. “Thank you,” she murmured.
The limousine came to a smooth halt in front of the mansion, and the m**ed cries of the paparazzi and the rapid clicks of camera shutters filled the air as they anticipated who would step out of the car.
In a sudden, playful move, Noah bit down gently on the delicate skin of Felicity’s neck, making her squeal softly, “Noah, I have to go,” she whispered breathlessly, his teeth still grazing her skin.
Finally satisfied, he released his hold and placed a tender kiss on the red spot, admiring his handiwork with a smirk. “Now everyone will know you’re taken,” He declared.
Felicity shot him a glare, but couldn’t find the words to reprimand him. She merely pushed him away in mild annoyance just as the chauffeur opened the door for her to come down.
The moment Felicity stepped out, she was met with the shouts of reporters calling her name and the relentless flash of cameras blinding her.
Overwhelmed she found herself momentarily dazed, standing frozen between the car door. It had been long since she came to an event like this and the nerves were starting to kick in.
Sensing her hesitation, Noah gave her a subtle, encouraging pinch on her back, jolting her from her reverie. With a deep breath, Felicity regained her composure and flashed a dazzling smile for the cameras.
As she began to make her way down the red carpet, the paparazzi desperately tried to catch a glimpse of the mysterious figure in the limousine, but the chauffeur deftly shut the door, leaving them with nothing but the fading silhouette of a man
or did they see wrong?
