Seraphina cut her off, her tone calm but brooking no argument. "My husband bought this property, and we are legally married. Under marital law, any real estate purchased after marriage is considered joint property, which means I have the full right to use it. You can check your system; the homeowner's marital status should be on record."
The staff member hesitated for a second before looking down and typing away at her keyboard. Information populated on the screen.
She reviewed it, then looked back at Seraphina, her demeanor instantly shifting to one of utmost respect. "Please wait just a moment."
Shortly after, a shiny new set of keys was placed directly into Seraphina's hand.
Chelsea leaned in to check the unit number on the keychain, unable to resist giving a thumbs-up. "You're amazing, Seraphina. I give that move a perfect score."
Seraphina's lips curved into a smile as she closed her fingers tightly around the keys.
"Let's go. Since I have a new place here, we'll crash at my house tonight."
Chelsea linked her arm through Seraphina's, her tone instantly lightening. "Absolutely. You're hosting, and I'm strictly here for the food."
The two walked out of the management office side by side, following the stone-paved path toward the residential buildings.
Standing by the flowerbeds, Yvette watched in sheer horror as Seraphina and Chelsea emerged from the office, a set of gleaming keys clutched in Seraphina's hand. Her face instantly dropped.
She had initially tried to follow Seraphina inside, but halfway to the inner complex, security had stopped her, demanding she swipe an access card.
She had only planned on taking a look and had no idea an access card was required, leaving her entirely blocked from entering.
Yvette had furiously yelled at the guard, "Are you blind? You didn't stop that woman in front of me, but you stop me?"
The guard's expression had darkened considerably at the insult, but he had patiently explained that the other woman possessed an access card.
Yvette had only grown more enraged. How on earth did Seraphina have an access card? Seraphina was countering her every move today, and it was driving her absolutely insane.
Now, seeing them emerge victorious, she instantly started screaming.
