A single sentence sent ripples of hushed whispers through the surrounding crowd. As it turned out, Seraphina was the actual wife all along.

People wondered where the other woman found the nerve to mock the legitimate spouse in public.

"Seraphina, you..." Lauren flushed a deep crimson from the retort. She looked up at Dominic with a pitiful expression, lowering her voice to a whisper. "Dominic, how could Seraphina slander me like this?"

She wiped away a non-existent tear from the corner of her eye. "I don't mind if she insults me, but she's intentionally provoking you in front of everyone. She just wants to control you. If she gets her way today, you'll have to cater to her every whim from now on."

Dominic's brow furrowed, his gaze turning somber as it swept over Seraphina. "Seraphina, this is not the place for your scheming. Enough is enough."

He then turned to the sales associate. "I'll pay triple."

Seraphina scoffed. Lauren only had to say a few words, and he was willing to throw everything aside to stand up for her. She must have been blind to ever fall for a man like him.

Her attitude grew even more resolute. "I'll pay five times the price."

Dominic's gaze grew predatory. "Seven times."

Seraphina refused to back down. "Eight."

Dominic shot back, "Ten times."

The moment the words left his mouth, Seraphina instantly dropped her aggressive stance. She nodded with a faint smile. "Deal. It's yours. Pay up."

She pointed at the dress and told the associate, "This gentleman is offering ten times the price. Give it to him."

Seeing Seraphina's relaxed and contented smile, Dominic paused for a brief second. "You did this on purpose?"

Millions of dollars, just for a single dress.

Seraphina let out a light laugh. "Don't say that, Mr. Lockwood. Everyone is watching. Surely you aren't trying to back out now?"

Dominic scoffed, his expression remaining unchanged as he pulled out a card and handed it to the associate. "Swipe it."
