Vivian was woken up by a nurse.
She opened her eyes, wincing as the glaring white ceiling made her head throb. Propping herself up, she grimaced at the uncomfortable layer of sticky sweat clinging to her skin.
"Miss, are you feeling any better?"
The nurse studied her face closely, breathing a sigh of relief when she saw that she seemed fine.
"Your husband insisted I keep a close eye on you last night. Are you feeling unwell anywhere? If not, my shift is ending soon."
"My husband?"
Fragments of memories flashed through Vivian's mind as she asked, "What husband?"
The question caught the nurse off guard.
Did she have more than one?
She stammered out, "Your husband... tall, incredibly handsome. He looked like a movie star."
"?"
A husband who looked like a movie star?
Vivian racked her brain but couldn't place anyone fitting that description. She looked up and asked, "Do you happen to know his name?"
"He didn't say."
"..."
Vivian had wanted to properly thank whoever had helped her, but based on what the nurse said, it seemed her savior preferred to remain anonymous.
She quickly brushed it off and got out of bed.
"Could I borrow your phone to make a call, please?"
"Of course, here you go."
The nurse assumed she was calling her husband.
They were both so incredibly gorgeous; standing together, they would be an absolute feast for the eyes.
Vivian dialed Zoe's number directly.
"How did everything go?"
Hearing her voice, Zoe finally let out a massive sigh of relief.
She had been calling all night without any luck and feared the worst.
"I've already contacted my friends in the media. Barring any surprises, yesterday's incident will be trending across all major social platforms by noon today."
Vivian headed to the doctor's office for a quick exam.
"You're fine now. You're young, and I understand the desire for a bit of excitement, but you have to know your limits. Your husband looked quite defiant yesterday; you really need to talk some sense into him."
"..."
Vivian sucked in a sharp breath and forced a smile.
"Doctor, my husband must have signed something yesterday, right? Could I trouble you to let me see it?"
The old doctor gave her a weird look but still shuffled through the pile of forms on his desk. He eventually pulled one out and pointed to the emergency contact section.
"Here."
Vivian glanced down at the paper.
[Simon Young.]
The name struck her as oddly familiar, but she simply couldn't recall where she had heard it before.
After apologizing to the doctor and bidding him farewell, Vivian caught a cab back to the office.
Everyone was at their desks today. The moment she walked through the doors, she was met with a vibrant, bustling atmosphere. Every employee she passed greeted her warmly.
