The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 67

Chapter 67

Just as she stepped into her office, an administrative secretary handed her a brand-new phone.

“Boss, Zoe wanted me to remind you about the meeting at nine-thirty.”

Since it was the first official day of work, an all-hands meeting was absolutely necessary

Vivian nodded. “I know. You can head out.”

Fortunately, she had already reviewed the previous projects in advance. Otherwise, with Zoe absent, she wouldn’t have known how to run the meeting.

She gave a self-deprecating smirk and turned on the phone, logging into her iMessage/

The moment she connected to the internet, a barrage of messages flooded her screen.

Some were from friends, others from the Fairchilds.

To Vivian’s utter surprise, even Amara had sent her several messages.

[Did you really think I’d just die because you decided to hide? Well, I’ve got news for you. Dr. Granger found me the best cardiologist. With the latest mechanical heart valve developed in Switzerland, I’ll recover perfectly!]

[You must be in absolute despair, Vivian. Watching the man you love stand firmly by my side, not even bothering to look for you!]

[Don’t think your pathetic game of playing hard to get is going to work. Let me tell

is madly in love with me now. Go cry in your little hiding spot!]

Beneath the wall of text was a photo taken in bed.

A man’s bare chest and a woman’s smooth, radiant shoulder.

you, Jonah

Their faces weren’t visible, but anyone familiar with them would recognize them instantly…

It was Jonah and Amara.

Vivian felt absolutely nothing. She even zoomed in on the picture and muttered, “His skin is looking a bit dull. They should have used a filter.”

Chloe gave her a sarcastic thumbs-up, but then she caught on to something off.

“Did something happen to you?”

Not wanting her to worry, Vivian shook her head. “I just had a little too much to drink at a work dinner, that’s all.”

“As long as you’re okay… But you have no idea-huge news just dropped in Southampton!”

Chloe’s expression was incredibly animated as she leaned in conspiratorially. “Let me tell you, in the two days you’ve been gone, Jonah secretly gathered a bunch of people. It looks like he’s going to flip the Fairchild family upside down!”

Vivian raised an eyebrow. “Why would he flip the Fairchild family?”

Logically speaking, Jonah wouldn’t have a hard time finding out she was in Northside.

And the Fairchild family meant absolutely nothing to her anymore. Whether he tore them apart or not… wouldn’t that affect Amara the most?

“Who knows?” Chloe shook her head. “But according to reliable sources, it seems he’s taking all his anger over you leaving out on Mr. Fairchild, forcing him to find a way to drag you back…”

She looked up at the camera with a sly grin. “Coming back is obviously out of the question. So tell me, have you met your legendary husband yet?”
